BrickyBoy Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Hello, It's been a while since I presented here my last moc, a modular bank --> http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=96144 Today I could finally finish one of my many projects, a modification of the Dedective Office in this case. When I saw the first pictures of this set, I knew I would mod it some day. One year later, with the release of the Brick Bank, everything became clear for me. So, since I already have my own bank, I will transform the Brick Bank into a police station. For that, the laundry had to make place. And because the barber moved to another building in town... Thanks for watching! Quote
finnbricker Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Great work! I really like this. The sand green walls and reddish brown windows work well together and the laundry part looks nice too. My favourite is the bottle cabinet of the bar, though! I'll try and copy that one day. Quote
ReplicaOfLife Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Nice mashup of the two modulars! Quote
TheLegoDr Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Nicely done. I like the look overall. I really like the laundromat here vs the bank. I understand the play features, but I actually like how this turned out more. The sand green pool hall is interesting. I like the medium nougat color more for that, but this definitely stands out in a crowd. I still have my Detective Office sitting in its box. I'm not sure what I want to do with it yet because I definitely want to mod it. I hadn't considered changing the business up, but maybe I will to make the barbershop bigger...only time will tell. Keep up the good work. I may have to look back at this for some details. Quote
eanair Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 I really like the laundromat here vs the bank. I understand the play features, but I actually like how this turned out more. Totally agree with this....and I love how the laundromat looks beside the alleyway. The three buildings (bank, pub & laundromat) make a very realistic scene. Good stuff! Quote
Cupofcake Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 This is great! Especially love the detail of the minfigure leg instead of Unikitty's tail on the roof of the laundry. I've been working on my own riff of the Detectives office, but was not nearly as clever when trying to find a way around having to buy more unikitty tails. Great work! Quote
Hobbythom Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Just found this. Great mod. I especially like the changed 2nd and 3rd floors above the laundromat. Pics save to my inspiration folder! Quote
ConBrickFan Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 I love how you have combined the two sets, as well as adding a bar to the pool house, which I believe the regular set to be missing. Not sure if I like the sand green on the second floor but overall, a very good design. Quote
jackaly Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I really liked the way your colour palette worked with these three buildings, they are all distinct but complimentary. The variations make it look like an actual streetscape not just one really big building. Really nice mod Quote
Brick City Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Wow! I will say, the colors look far better than the original. I also think that this setup is more realistic, in terms of what you would find nearby a small bar. Anyways, I think that this is really awesome! Quote
BrickyBoy Posted April 7, 2016 Author Posted April 7, 2016 Thank you all for the kind comments! This is actually just the beginning of other mods. I'm now working on the barbershop with a moc besides it, and a mod of the Brick Bank. I love how you have combined the two sets, as well as adding a bar to the pool house, which I believe the regular set to be missing. Not sure if I like the sand green on the second floor but overall, a very good design. I think it'll be looking better if I change the tan part above the pub into grey? Quote
coghilla Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 This is a great mix of two good modulars. Excellant work there. Congratulations Quote
Firebrickbuilder Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 I really think lego got it wrong as you've proved to me today. The laundry dry cleaners shouldn't be with the bank, I get what they're at, these two modulars detective set and brick bank could have been sold as a two part modular story, where the laundry could be connected to the bank to launder the money differently i.e. a sliding wall into the bank if you wanted it connected to the bank vault?. Great Moc. Quote
