The bottom set looks like it has glow in the dark walls. Could be useful if it does.

Chances are it's just the the green from the Ninjago "Possession" wave. I would be interested in the set if it was glow in the dark though

Yes, that's definitely the case.

I really hope that the black shields with Goblin King insignia are printed... I want them so bad! If nothing else, at least a round 1x1 printed tile with that symbol will appear in the Goblin Village set. :classic:

The new sets look pretty cool.  I really like the new color for the Pegasus and the Goblin Kings fortress looks interesting.  The dragon set looks nice and seems to be a purple color.  Overall looks good and could have some useful parts.

Its weird how this theme gets prelims for the summer before the spring sets even are out...

The pale green color for the walls of the evil castle looks a bit bright to me, not what I expected. Dark blue dragon set has the most promise.

Wow, they sure changed styling in this years sets. The colour scheme especially, but also the design details and storyline are much more gender-neutral. I wonder if this will help or hurt sales. I guess the third year of a wave is a good time to experiment with new ideas.

I'm not a fan of the wyverns. We had enough dragons last year. Wish we could have gained some new creatures. I welcome the goblins, but would have like something new+bigger. That small flaming pegasus looks okay but it is not very original.

I am really hating the use of that pale green in this years sets. It is probably my most hated Lego colour . Maybe I'll feel differently once I see the sets in person, but I think the colour clashes roo much with most of the others. I'm not a fan of that prelim summer castle. The shape looks fine, but it doesn't look like much of a challenge to build.

The most promising sets are likely the goblin village with its neat style and maybe that healing hut - yay for a new elf. Aira's airship is aesthetically nice, but too close to the Ninjago airship from a year ago.

Where's all the London Toy Fair news? D:

Only retailers were invited, probably as a consequence of last year's event: coverage by Brickset (among others) was too detailed... :sceptic: Don't worry though, Nuremberg Toy Fair starts February 1st and most likely there will be (picture) coverage from that. :classic:

Arf I miss something ! Can someone put a link or something about the new images pleeaase :-) (wave 6)

We can't. Someone had a link a page back, but they were marked confidential, which Eurobricks doesn't allow.  You might be able to find them elsewhere on the web, but I can't really direct you.

Thank you, too bad for me, I tried to search on google with keyword like fortress Elves 2017 summer but nothing.... I will wait... But maybe you can describe a little the 3 sets, so I'll have a tiny idea :)

Sure, I'll try:

Azari’s escape with the Pegasus

  • It’s a small set that comes with Azari, a Pegasus and a lime green goblin in blue clothes.
  • Azari is on a small dark pink/magenta carriage that has ornate gold wheels a large flame shooting out of the back.
  • The Pegasus is the same from the 2nd wave, but is completely gold except from some magenta hair on head and tail.

Forest Elf’s Healing Hut

  • Comes with a new elf that has dark skin, black pony tail hair (?)  and a blue outfit, Also comes with Naida, and a goblin with dark purple (?) clothes.
  • there are two main builds to this set- Wyvern and hut
  •  The wyvern  is mostly dark blue with some transition to magenta in its wings.
  • The healing hut is interesting and a bit tricky to describe. The hut it dark blue looks like it is on top of a cave or maybe it is just how they designed the first floor. Top floor has the standard arch pieces we’ve seen in most of the last years’ sets, and has a gold fence element. There are purple leaves sticking out from the top floor and some weird tendril pieces that act as branches.
  • On the ground there are some random things – a cauldron, some growing (non-printed) pumpkins, a mouse, a baby dragon (lime green and light pink trim).

Rescue from the Goblin Fortress.

  • 3 minidolls: Goblin king, Emily and her sister, Sophie. Also a purple skinned goblin with purple clothes.
  • The fortress looks like more like a medieval style fortress. It is almost completely that light limey yellow green colour, with a bit of black trim and weird long dark blue/purple tendrils coming out of the sides, which gives it a bit of a creepy look.
  • Left side of fortress is a tower on one side with a cage big enough for a minidoll. On right side is one of those drawbridge doors with the chains.
  • Not much else to say without seeing a pic of the back side. It also looks like there may be a portal up and behind the drawbridge. Oh and a small raft that comes with a paddle.

It is rumoured that there may be a fourth summer set, (we are missing Farran and Aira in this wave), but I’m not sure if it would be a bigger set.

Actually, the Dragon in the Forest Elf's Healing Hideout set has 4 legs, just like the Dragons from 2016; and she/he has a magenta crystal at the end of her/his tail, much like Thorne's green crystal at the end of his tail.   [Can see it better even in the small preview video on the main Lego Elves page ---  https://www.lego.com/en-us/elves  ].

Only the Goblin King's 'Dragon' is a Wyvern, so far. [which appears in the small preview video after the scene showing Rosalyn and her Dragon friend.

Also, the new Pegasus is in the flaming yellow-orange color, with the mane and tail painted in magenta.  [from what I could tell in those early posted pictures of the Summer 2017 sets]

I think the eye above the drawbridge on the Goblin King's Fortress may have a light brick. The red glow makes me think so, at least. These sets generally look good (and I'm excited that someone other than Naida and Aira finally gets a vehicle), but I'm still curious about the rumored fourth set... it's most likely a store exclusive and there's no telling what size it will be.

Oh, there's such nice image of goblin king! I found it on facebook page of Euphorine's website about elves, I sure I need to share it here:

Also, I think that musical instuments would fit elves' world  excellently. Magical harps, flutes, drums and mandolin. I hope once this theme will be realized :) And it's nice chance to gather band of minstrels!

Agreed. The Legend of Zelda series is a good example of a fantasy series that frequently makes use of musical instruments as important tools or artifacts. I'm kind of disappointed that there haven't been any instruments to date besides Bieblin's guitar. Farran's bio when the theme first came out listed musical instruments as one of his interests so I hoped it might be a sign of things to come.

It is interesting that Elves has shifted away from collectible artifacts like the keys and towards collectible characters like the baby dragons and goblins. Given the way it started out, I thought collectible artifacts might remain a focus sort of like collectible weapons are in Ninjago, but it hasn't worked out quite that way. If the theme were to bring collectible artifacts back to the forefront, magical musical instruments could be a neat option.

As a castle fan, I'm all into fantasy themes such as this; however, I fear that the dark tones bring too much of a gloomy atmosphere for the otherwise colorful cast of cheery characters.  I hope that they go back to the vibrant positive tones from the first and second waves.  I wonder if they can expand this theme beyond having the antagonist be dark and hateful.  Perhaps they are just trouble causing goblins that steal in order to feed their people.  Wouldn't such a story line be the complexity necessary to challenge the minds of young builders?  It would bring a sense of depth to the story line and allow the expansion of other cast members like fairies into the mix without making fairies dark and evil themselves.  Regardless, I am happy about the theme overall and hope this next wave with goblins prove to be a giant success.  That image of the goblin king is magnificent : ).

From what I've read your suggestion isn't far off from how the actual story goes. Apparently the Goblins themselves are normally just mischievous—the Goblin King (who is an elf, not a goblin himself is the one who has enslaved them to use them for evil.

Personally I like the range of emotions the different sets evoke, from the cheerier, more colorful subjects to the darker and moodier ones. I think there's room for both—last year, for instance, more vibrant and colorful settings like the Secret Marketplace or Dragon Sanctuary existed alongside darker ones like Ragana's Castle. The progression of each year's story sort of calls to mind stories like the Wizard of Oz, which features a stranger arriving in a cheerful fantasy land but then having to combat a darker evil that threatens it.

This year is a little different from last year, in so far as the main villain and his underlings are being introduced from the get-go rather than being saved exclusively for the summer sets. But even so, there are still some fairly cheerful elements like Mr. Spry's shop in The Capture of Sophie Jones. Even the goblin village is fairly cute despite the aura of danger, and I can't wait to see the interiors of some of the buildings, which will hopefully include some homey creature comforts for the goblins who live there.

I also think that the dark and spooky nature of the goblins is kind of undercut by their inherent cuteness and silliness. For instance, Dukelin from the Airship set is a grizzled-looking guy, but he's still got the same cute, stubby limbs as the other goblins. And his flying machine is the sort of wacky, rickety contraption that you might see in a Wile E. Coyote cartoon. Even the goblin village with its man-eating plants and eerie color palette keeps the darkness in check by including accessories for the goblins like beds, a toilet, and a guitar to show that they have lives outside of kidnapping people and animals or plundering crystals for their king.

My brother just alerted me to the fact that lekmer.fi has lots of new pics of the first five Elves sets for this year! This is where I found things like what the inside of the houses in the Goblin Village look like. On another cute note, inside the store from The Capture of Sophie Jones, there's a framed picture of Mr. and Miss Spry! The new pics also show just how much the wings move on Aira's airship, which is actually a pretty impressive range compared to what I was expecting. And as with last year, there's some awesome art on the back of the boxes to show off the main conflict.

I checked out the website. Saw the trailer. Is that the new animation style for the Elves series? Looks ridiculous compared to the original.

Just a reminder, there's a separate topic in Culture and Multimedia specifically for discussion of story media (including the animations). Anyway, I understand how people might prefer the older animation style, but does a style that is closer to the actual figures really qualify as ridiculous?

Aaaah!  Mr. Spry's bed!  The goblin newspaper conveniently stored by the goblin toilet!  The pet spider!  These are so cute!
