Koori Posted August 12, 2017 Posted August 12, 2017 (edited) I hope it continues, Elves have been a way better theme than *cough* Nexo. And all the figures including the goblins have been great additions to my castle town, the sets too with minor modifications of course. The theme itself is very useful for fantasy displays/mocs and despite it being in the girls range it has appeal to both genders. Edited August 12, 2017 by Koori Quote

Some Ninjago sets, espesially from the movie, are awesome, but I would to buy only fantasy-like ones. Or, if once I'll get some sci-fi stuff, I'll rebuild it in elven style :) Anyway, this three years made me fan of this series and in case of bad news I'll continue building and making my own story, so if anyone want to make some fan project I would be glad to participate! Btw here's my armored Aira, just to roughly estimate how this may look :) Oh wow! That is so beautiful! You are clearly a master customizer! I can't wait to see what else you create! I hope that Elves isn't ending this year, and to be honest I'm still sort of questioning it. It wouldn't entirely surprise me if it ended, though. Quote

Thank you , Aanchir! I have some ideas about how to customize doubles, as minimum I want to make new haicuts for main characters, so I'll try :) Quote
Hidronax Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Hello! I thought I might as well ask it here before opening a topic: Does anyone know who is the artist who made the promotional art for LEGO Elves? I wasn't able to find the name on the internet. Thanks! Quote

Wes Talbott designs the Elves sets and he seems to have a backgound in illustration so it's possible he might be making the art as well. Quote

I took a look at his deviantART page, it looks very plausible (the style is very similiar). Thank you :) Quote

We're not worthy! Thanks for your great work, Wes! I own every set, and I definitely hope we see many more years of sets to come. Friends, Disney Princesses and Superhero Girls just don't interest me. I love the fantasy aspect of Lego Elves mixed with the minidoll aesthetic. Even for Minifigs, there's currently no pure fantasy or medieval theme. Nexo is not my cup of tea, and is in fact my least favorite theme ever. Quote

I love learning who is responsible for the development of my favorite Lego themes. Elves has had consistently amazing art direction—it would be incredible if we someday got an artbook chronicling its development the way we got this year for Bionicle! Quote

Fuppylodders Posted August 20, 2017 Posted August 20, 2017 I don't know if Wes is still keeping an eye on this thread, but if you are, I just want to say regardless if the theme continues or not, thank you for the set's done so far. They tap into the fantasy theme just perfectly, and seem to have only gotten better with each wave, especially hitting the nail on the head with the dragons! (still missing a black dragon though ;) ) Quote
rodiziorobs Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 It's always nice when designers will come down to mingle with us mere commoners! I'll echo the sentiments about Elves as a theme; while not every set has interested me, all the sets I have picked up have been great, and it has held my interest (as a theme) like no other since I was a kid. It even convinced me that minidolls are cool. Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 I just want to say thank you for bringing such a beautiful theme to life. Quote
Lyichir Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 @Sir von Lego apparently confirmed in the Nexo Knights topic that Elves will be continuing next year! No details but to be honest even the knowledge that it will continue brings a huge wave of relief. Quote
jake0324demo Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 (edited) I asked him and he said that the like was returning but dc super hero girls was not. DC Super Hero Girls is actually coming back, but there will be 3 small sets. Edited August 22, 2017 by jake0324demo Quote

Gobias1234 Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 I was coming here all sad because I couldn't see proof of next year's elves sets on insta and I see some rumblings here that the theme *is* coming back! Off to look at the Nexo topic! HP and Elves?!?! yasss, queen. Quote
Bentonton Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 Where is the catalog leak with the Elves? I'm dying here! ? Quote
Lyichir Posted August 25, 2017 Posted August 25, 2017 (edited) You know, after seeing that they're featured in both the webisodes and the new Netflix series, it is kind of a shame that none of this year's sets featured "bigfig" versions of any of the goblins. It could have added some nice variety. The same sort of applies to the shadow creature, which it would have been cool to get in other animal forms in other sets... though its larger, more monstrous forms might generally be more MOCable, so it's not quite as much of a loss. It'd also be nice to get mini-dolls of the elven sisters of water, fire, and earth, though in those cases it might not be too late... In general, if Sir Von Lego's confirmation that we'd be getting sets next year hadn't dispelled my fears that the theme was on its way out, the level of quality displayed in the new Netflix series certainly would. I certainly doubt Lego would go to those lengths for a series that was on its last legs. It's clear that Lego has a great deal of confidence in the theme, and I suspect that at this rate it may continue even beyond next year! Edited August 25, 2017 by Lyichir Quote

Lordofdragonss Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 (edited) The goblins do. Funnily it seems to be a copypaste from Aira's. Edited August 29, 2017 by Lordofdragonss Quote
