To be honest, I think the very first ninjago sets are way better than nowadays sets, even though I still like the theme as a whole. However a swamp setting sounds epic and has the potential to bring ninjago's best ever sets. Not to forget black and red samurai, who while probably won't beat the snakes for the best ninjago villains, have the potential to be pretty cool.

Curious about the Medusa... thing. It's not quite a minifig, is it? Like, there' a head and haripiece, but the body is brick-built and looks a little clunky.

Yeah, I saw bigfig arms on it... I do like that it's going for a brick built/minifigure/bigfig combination. I don't know if we've ever seen that, besides Dogpound.

I'd like to see more bricks that bridge the gap between minifigs and other parts. It'd be cool to be able to build larger figures with bricks without it  looking too "blocky"

Aside from Dogpound and Leatherhead, there is Axl from Nexo Knights who can be considered one, I think.

Me too! In my opinion, current bigfigs lack both attachment points and articulation points. The Fantasy Era trolls from the 2008 Castle theme were better, having studs on the wrists, belt, helmet and back, but also lackuster articulation. Being able to build the armour on the figure, plus having head and leg articulation, would make bigfigs so much better!

Btw, anyone have a clue when we will start seeing official pics? Release date is January 1st, right?

Last year, I believe we got pics around this time for a few lines (Nexo Knights among them).  Ninjago box/set pics did not come until I believe mid-November.

The catalog shows a release date of January 1st, but I'm not sure if that is just for Europe (it's a European catalog) or if it's a worldwide release date.  Last year they staggered the dates with Europe getting Ninjago January 1st and the N.A. release being March 1st.  I have my fingers crossed for Jan 1 in N.A.!   Unless someone else on the boards has some knowledge of the release date schedule, we will probably have to wait another month or so to get official dates from TLG.

Unfortunately, TPLSTER21 is right. We won't know until there's an official announcement or more leaks. They might release in January to separate the TV show from the movie, or they might launch later on to help generate hype.

Hi, it seems it's a rightplace to ask more about pythor. Some mini figures can be exclusive for large and expensive sets. Sometimes they are so popular that fans prefer to buy them in a small set or a polybag. I like general PythorIt was in 70750 and 70756. Is it also sold in a polybag or target box etc? Please anser my questions, will you?

Pythor is one of those minifigures that are deliberately put in large sets in order to sell those large sets (although most of the sets he's in are more than worth it for the set alone).

Long story short, Pythor isn't in any polybag sets.

Here's a thought on the hands of time sets and who the vermillion might be, what if during day of the departed, after the ghost portal closes, another portal opens up sending the ninja back in time to the serpent wars, this would explain why the vermillion are dressed in helmets with snake heads and why theres snakes every where.

Whether the ninja get sent back or not, the season takes place in the serpentine wars. Their parents could be alive, so they might actually not go to the past. It could also be a ToE kind of thing where people don't dress normally because they're away from society.

These names are really bad. This is worse than Chima and Nexo Knights villain names.

Wait I take that back some of the Nexo Knight names are actually cool, but still. Are all these vermillion guys just ripped goons, or what?

The only expanation I can see from this is that the Vermillion are like this so Hands of Time would focus more on the story, and have the villains as sort of a side thing. As in, they're not too interesting on purpose.

OH MY!!!! OHHH MY DAYS!! These figures are exceptional! The detail on that armour moulding for the top left figure is so good. BTW, is the figure on the bottom row, 2nd from the left from Ninjago? Cos the symbol on its torso look very familiar...

So snake-men composed of snakes?  Explains why they have so many individual snakes in the sets.  Also makes me wonder if their machines are also supposed to be composed of snakes since many of them certainly have snake pieces coming out of them.

The level of details for those  minifigures are topnotch  and that armour on the top left... absolutely stunning! Those are the kind of armours I would have expected from the stone army. Thanks TLG!

Wow those look real nice! also im pretty sure the fig on the bottom 2 feom the left is also Ninjago. Maybe a New Samurai X character, as that looks nothing like any of our previous hero's (unless its a revamp of Echo)

Oh wow! *huh* When I saw the picture I was almost sure that it would be some obscure Superheroes character, until you pointed out the insignia! The design is so... sci-fi! The colour scheme matches the Samurai Turbomobile and it's different from all of the good guys so far. Those blue eye's could be Zane's, but the navy blue says rather Jay or Nya. Whatever the case; very interesting!

It looks like the figures will be a big deal this wave, can't wait to see the others!
