I think what happened was -- many people are commending Nexo Knights for their awesome bad guys line up. And the designers knew they can up their game because why can't Ninjago enjoy the same attention when the bad guys in Ninjago has more depth and character than those of Nexo Knights. I'm really liking the details of the prints this time around... no annoying emblems, too!

I am in love with that Samurai. It shall be mine

I'm impressed at the amount of detail they've put in, this is shaping up to be a good year for NINJAGO.

Nope, sorry! For clarity, I'm only linking to someone else's Flickr photo. I know nothing :look:

Neat minifigures!

As far as non-leaked 2017 news goes, LEGO seems to have accidentally used a pic of "Hands of Time" Cole instead of "Day of the Departed" Cole on their homepage: https://mi-od-live-s.legocdn.com/r/www/r/portals/-/media/images/home/layout/take-overs/ninjago-2016/lnj_october_takeover_characters_336x448_0000_cole.png

Incidentally, I'm now noticing that these are the first ninja minifigures with toe printing. Not the first Ninjago figs with toe printing, though, since Chen's minions had printed toes, as did Ronin and many of the Sky Pirates.

Glad to see Cole still has the scar. I was worried they would abandon it after Day of the Departed since it had no use there. Hopefully the scar will be important to his character like allowing him to shift between human and ghost.

"If Cole can have a scar, why not Kai?" I'm ready for these types of questions, are you all?

Cole's outfit is by far my favorite, but I really like these villains too. I'm tempted to get them if they're not in the sets i'm planning on getting. That armor looks too good to miss out on. Also, i'm realizing this is what the Cultists should have been. Actual human-snake hybrids. I'm also noticing the one on the far left has armor to the neck up, and has the helmet cutting it close, giving it a streamlined look.

I also find it interesting how many interactive things these characters in general have, Zane has a radar, and these people have live snakes on them. How will the show animate this stuff? Will they just have the normal serpentine texture and act like the snakes are just printing (even though this contradicts the show)? Will they just leave Zane's radar on freeze?

I'm really tempted to say that the one in blue is perhaps the Time Ninja, as he wore blue and had a helmet, as well as having a few shiny things on too. And also, look at the feet. If you compare it to Cole's, you'll notice a pattern. Perhaps this person has a good orientation?

WAIT... I just realized what the toe printing is...

Those are SANDALS... Minifigures have.. Toes....?

The dark blue samurai looking minifigure is called Samurai RXL. Samurai RXL is also the updated name for samurai turbomobil, search it up on Google.

I think it's a robot this time around, it gets its own vehicle.

Is the vehicle the Samurai Turbomobile or is it in a store exclusive?

Also someone on Instagram said the Samurai's name is Samurai VXL.

The Turbomobile - the final(ish) names have been out on a few sites for a while, they've even been linked here...

Judging by the face, I think the Samurai is going to be a project between Nya and Zane.  There's a heavy similarity between Zane's face and the Samurai VXL, and the Samurai X symbol is on the chest. They're probably not a villain though, the dark blue was chosen to contrast with the dark red of the Vermillion and, like Zane, his eyes are blue which usually is design code for "friendly". It would make sense for them to do it after the events of Skybound, having a second Zane would come in handy.

Good theory... I also recall that Zane has P.I.X.A.L embedded in his system and on his face it is abbreviated as PXL ... and it would make sense if the new Samurai VXL is a joint project between Zane and Nya.

I've seen them, but you said the samurai minifigure had a vehicle so I was asking if his vehicle was the Turbomobile.

That's a good question.

Will we have a separate thread for the Ninjago Movie line and Ninjago Movie CMF series?

So it's not too soon, we do know there is a CMF series Ninjago, I think it could be easier to find what we want to know / read. I know there is the same thread about The LEGO Batman Movie, but it could also have been a good idea to separate ?

Why isn't there just a CMF thread?

There is, about every series but not for The LEGO Batman Movie and The Ninjago Movie.

Then why not discuss it? Is it just for the regular CMF? As in non-licensed things?

Well, well, well...

I came. I saw. I saved.

So apparently, the orange-yellow guy is in the largest set as well, can't spot him on the prelim there. Seems like he could be human. It would be nice to see Wu use the print from DotD again, since the Samurai X Cave was very expensive. And, could it be his tan strawhat returns, finally:cry_happy:

The Rogue duo is very interesting! The right one might even be Cole, judging from torso and facial scar. Also, green pauldrons? Cool! :classic:
