TeufelHund Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 I'm not really into Ninjago but will probably get the cheapest set for the new "orcs" and their armour plus that awesome silvery giant egg piece. Quote
Venunder Posted November 14, 2016 Posted November 14, 2016 The Ochre ones can definitely double as orcs. Yippee. And those red medusa things look awesome. Quote
notpennysboat Posted November 15, 2016 Posted November 15, 2016 Even if I have a medieval fantasy collection and story, more the years go and more I am interested by Ninjago sets for my medieval fantasy story. Next year, I'll take 70621 The Vermillion Attack ; 70626 Dawn of Iron Doom ; 70627 Dragon's forge, all 3 for all the constructions and bad guys, not for the ninjas. From 70625 Samourai VXL, it will be only for the bad girl, this one will be the most expensive because I'll take it alone. Quote
PenPlays Posted November 16, 2016 Posted November 16, 2016 Finally found time to write down my thoughts on the new sets. The Vermillion Attack is as basic as they come. The set has some nice colors and the weird... gauntlet thingy... Also the minifigure selection is grand for a set this size. Price guess: $12 Desert Lightning, might I say, is the weakest of the bunch. I don't know if I like this idea of a motorcycle combo set that both 2016 and 2017 seem to show as a trend. The set suffers from being two $10 sized sets in one. Both bikes are extremely simplistic (the Vermillion one suffers the most here). The only benefit of snagging this set is the orange Vermillion, Jay's gauntlet thingy, and, well, Jay. He has one of the best designs for the year (so far). Price guess: $20 They're more making boats... They're more making boats!!! This is a nice set. For something called "Destiny's Shadow" it certainly envokes the idea of a baby Bounty, although this set makes me fear for the fate of the Bounty in the show. Price guess: $30 I dunno about the Vermillion Invader. It's giving me Garmatron vibes, which is good, but I feel I may just be disappointed. Catapults simply aren't enough to justify this set as any good. With the exception of being the only set with Zane in it (who is rockin' an awesome suit as well). Price guess: $40 The Samurai VXL is mysterious. It's not Samurai X, as Nya is there in her new suit, but then there's that handsome looking Samurai in dark blue and gold! The car reminds me of the Ultra Agents Infearno Interception set, although I like how this one has steering unlike the afroementioned set. The special Vermillion is rather disappointing actually. I was expecting something more spectacular. The inclusion of an extra pair of legs is a given, as Overlord proved that haveing brick built legs isn't fun on its own, apparently. Price Guess: $40 Dawn of Iron Doom has a lot going on in it (good thing, too). Iron Doom itself has dethroned the Devourer as the coolest looking brick-built serpent (I classify all my reptiles, i.e. Dragons, in their own separate categories, mind you). Notice how with the gauntlet things that you can't really tell if that's a green or a teal colored one. In case it wasn't obvious, either Lloyd or zane do not have a gauntlet thingy. Curious who the hooded dudes are. Also that Wu has a straw hat! Price guess: $70 Dragon's Forge is the Blacksmith Shop we've been waiting for since 2011 (holy choirs sing). It's nice that we're getting the whole Kai/Nya family in one go. Loving all the weapon options, the buildable Vermillion dude, and the two headed Dragon. Part of me does wish, however, that each ninja would get their own individual dragons, but most importantly Nya, as she's only gotten combo Dragons in set form (both this and the Elemental Dragon from last year). Price guess: $100 A well rounded wave, although I feel that there is a bit lacking compared to last year's Winter/Spring wave (it's hard to top pirates with snakes). The minifigures are awesome, although, I'm not looking forward to the massive collection of generic Lego Snakes that we'll be getting from this wave. Quote

I'd say that the Vermillion vehicle physically looks really good, not talking about value per piece, but the actual completed build from a head on observation. From this perspective, it's a way better and unique build than Jay's. I'd actually love to have Jay's portion scrapped and get this as a polybag or another small set which would also have 3 figures. I'd agree that it's unique. I also like the idea of a poly designed like that little vehicle. I wonder if something like it will show up. I'm also curious if there are any store exclusive sets this time around? Quote
SKYGOAT Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 Dragon's Forge and Destiny's Shadow are possibly the best sets to date, for me (not including temple of airjitzu). so unique and i love the fusion garbs. this wave may have my favorite minifigure ive ever laid eyes upon: nya in her fusion garb. beautiful. very optimistic about future seasons and waves. Yeah, I feel the same way. I wish more people would look at the designs of the minifigures, as these are some of the best I've seen from NInjago. Quote
DuckBricks Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 New HoT teaser! I don't see the Twins in any new set... Maybe there's still one to be revealed? Quote

The previous page discusses DoD with direct mentions of Sander Saunders and Yang, so maybe Julien's presence is an error. I believe the Sensei is Yang, though. 1 hour ago, makoy said: Remember the 2 rogues in the 2nd largest set? Exetrius Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 I don't see any reason to not assume that the twins are those seen in the Iron Doom set. It is awesome to see that the main antagonist of this wave is a duo. Also, I thought I saw prints on the hoods in the official images and it turns out I am probably right, judging from the drawing: there's the clock motif again! Maybe Julien and/or Yang will come in a yet unseen exclusive? Would be great. Quote
benderisgreat Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 It seems that twins are 2 rogues in Iron Doom set, but their hairpieces are different shape and color(grey and black)! So how could they be twins? Quote

Maybe one of them got lost in time, thus getting older and then the second one went back, found the original lost twin who was olderish by now and jow theyre both stuck. Quote

Boogly22238 Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 (edited) That must explain why there's no big-bad Vermillion soldier, unless the dark-orange one is he? Apparently the Iron Room's chest has a time portal. And the giant thing in Dragon forge is Buffmillion? Edited November 20, 2016 by Boogly22238 Quote
LegendsOfNinjago Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 Set descriptions are out. i had no waynto copy and paste as they where photos on instagram, but it looks like the different colored weapons each have a time altering ability, red stops time, blue slows it down, green makes it go foward and orange reverses it. The twins in the Iron Doom set are in fact the time twins. And the robot is the new Samurai X Quote
