These may or may not be the names of the movie sets....

70606 Jay’s Electro Waver

70607 Titanium Turbo

70608 Samurai Stealth Takedown

70609 Master’s Dojo

70610 Nya’s Water Brigade

70611 Dragon’s Cove

70612 Spinjitzu Sanctuary

70613 Ninja Wake Run

70614 Kai’s Blazing Breaker

70615 Rai Mech

70616 Krypt of the Cave

70617 Backstreet Break-in

70618 Shadow Legion Ambush

70620 Ninjago City Invasion

One thing that always makes me wary with these type of lists is the lack of any specific baddie information.  Through all ninjago waves, the names of the sets pretty clearly give an idea of what the baddie faction will be(sans the ghost army).  We know that the ninja will appear, thus the names of their stuff would be pretty ease to forge, the baddies would not be known and thus could not be forged except with more generic terms. All in all, when it has fairly generic names like this I kinda makes me look at it with a skeptical eye.

It makes sense not to spoil the villains of the movie, these sound good to me.

Spoiling the villains wouldn't be a problem except on a leaked list of names like this, considering they'd appear in pictures and descriptions of the sets themselves. Which isn't to say these names are necessarily fake... just that "not spoiling the villains" probably isn't the priority.

Maybe the villains are shadow samurai? One of the set names is "Samurai Stealth Takedown." Another is "Shadow Legion Ambush." I'm not sure, but maybe?

Source? Where did you get these set names?

The set names for the Ninjago Movie sound...plausible.  Agree with the lack of villain names being a bit of a red flag (unless they are "Shadow Samurai" as mentioned previously.  Also, the presence of Kai in 2 consecutive sets 70614 & 70615, is a bit of an eyebrow raiser since I don't think that's been done before (i.e. same main character in 2 consecutive sets).

In any case, we should have set names within the next week or so if history is any indication.  Either "insiders" will drop them or they will show up in a database somewhere.

Or Kai Mech. Although I remain skeptical of that list. It doesn't have the creatively horrible bad English translations that normally characterize early leaked set lists.

Does anyone remember that we actually did receive some sort of code names of the sets last year? With the skybound sets?

If I remember correctly, we've encountered coded set names before and they appeared to be short forms of the sets. So that kinda proved that these names aren't real, as 70606 is coded as GA, not JW.

Of course, it's just a theory.

Yeah, I think you're right. One started with Z if I remember correctly, which implies Zane. He isn't titanium in the movie, so this list is looking more and more fake.

I already cross referenced the names and abbreviations.

70607, 70608, 70613, and 70617 were the only ones that had abbreviations that made sense with the leaked full names.

Other interesting tid-bits, 70615 is abbreviated "KM" meaning that Rai Mech might just be a typo. 70618 and 70620 aren't listed on the abbreviated list. Also 70619 isn't on either list.

So, it seems like these names could actually be real! If so, that means elemental powers and spinjitzu will be in the movie. However, does anyone here know what's a waver or wake run?

I made a topic for the LEGO Ninjago Movie since it's a separate theme.

Assuming we even need a separate topic like that (considering the movie-based sets and TV-based sets don't seem like they'll overlap significantly), why put it in licensed themes? It's based on an in-house theme, not an external license, and while putting it in the licensed themes forum would allow it to be in the same place as The Lego Batman Movie, I don't see that as being that important considering that The Lego Movie went in Special Lego Themes as far as I can remember.

Agreed. No need for a seperate topic.

Haven't seen the sets on the shelves yet but was able to get an employee at Target to bring a copy of Vermillion Attack from the back. Loving the new villains and particularly their armor. Hoping to pick up multiples once they get reduced.

Wow! I'm surprised your target let you get it with no problem. I know many of us have had problems where we bring it to the front, only for it to be taken from us. Anyways, nice score!
