I feel like the two extra civilians in the mech set are unecessary (unless one of them is actually someone important). I don't think anyone would really mind if the set came with 4 figures.

Also, i'm kind of struggling to see the structure of Lloyd's dragon in that box. And I can't wait to see Zane's tank in set form.

Also the patterns on the ninja's headbands don't seem to follow a particular pattern. But, some of the outfits do have a recurring theme of the diamond shape (Jay, Lloyd, Kai)

Back in September i believe we had a list of the 2017 Ninjago movie sets with two letters next to them to hint to what they contained. I cant find the original source, but they were reposted here.

We then recieved confirmation on several of the set numbers and pricing for the sets via a retail website - sinqel. Around this time we recieved word that several of the sets were exclusive including the Shark set - this led to the belief that the missing three sets were going to be exclusives or D2C's. The names hinting towards the 70610 (Shark?), 70616 (Zane's tank?) and 70620 NC being exclusives.

Shortly after that we recieved rumours that 70620 was a D2C. NC was later taken to mean Ninjago City however with Kevii23 recently claiming it to be the Destiny's Bounty, if accurate, it probably means that NC was meant to refer to 'Ninja Command' or something similar to imply their base of operations. Admittedly it is a guess that 70620 is the D2C. However, it is very likely that those mssing from the sinqel retailer are exclusives as it would be odd for a retailer not to stock all of the new sets - especially with a well-selling theme like Ninjago.

Great to finally see some set photos!  Hopefully we will start to see more images in the weeks to come.

I must say that I'm quite surprised that Kai's mech is a larger set than Lloyd's dragon.  When I first saw the trailer, I thought that Kai's set would be a candidate for a significant downsizing (like to a $30 set level downsizing to spread out the price points of the Ninja's vehicles) and that the dragon would be Top 3 in terms of piece count/pricing.  I see now that mech looks to be quite substantial size-wise (hard to tell from the box, but scaled to the mini fig it looks like it could stand 11-13 inches tall including the banners) and also looks pretty true to its appearance in the movie.  However, it doesn't appear to have much in the way of action-features which is a huge pet peeve of mine with "Action Themes" and mechs in particular.  I'll save my rant on that though for when we see more of the set.  I hope it does more than just stand around!  I know other forum members are commenting about the mech's downsizing, but quite frankly it's very slight at most.  Need to see better images of the dragon set but in a way, I'm happy that it is at a lower price point and has an excellent selection of mini-figs! 

I wonder though, where Cole's mech fits into the set listing.  "NW" could be "Nya's Walker" and 70610 or 70614 could be Jay's vehicle.  I don't see a "C" in any set other than 70611 which is a 45 euro set, which in that case would make Cole's mech significantly smaller than Kai's from a piece count perspective.  I guess that could be the case since it doesn't have legs and the wheel would save a large piece count vs. 2 legs.  Surprised that if NW is Nya's vehicle, that it is that large!  Figured it would also be a smaller set.

Just realised that Cole's hair actually has a headband moulded into it. That makes sense.

I personally love the civilians in the sets! To me it is what the only thing the LBM were lacking compared to TLM ones.

Me too. Though we did get the mayor and Jim Gordon in TLBM sets.

Also, as the bounty was shown at toy fair it can't be an exclusive or D2C right??

Since it was shown there, it's 100% not the D2C.

Does anyone know if the bow Zane is using is a new mold? It looks different from the ones i've seen.

Also, Zane's quiver is attached to his back without a clip (If it's a CGI thing, then why does Kai have a clip but not Zane?)

Zane's bow looks like the classic mold to me. 

No idea on the quiver, but I'd chalk it up to camera angle or CG mistake.

In terms of scaling you should ideally try and look for pieces that could not be scaled down in order to judge the size/scale.

With Kai's mech, there is no smaller variant of the curved pieces used for the 'toes' of the mech. The only other smaller piece would be too small to be in-scale with a figure. As such it winds up being one of the larger sets.
With Nya's, the main focal point would be the legs - the pieces used for the legs have no smaller versions, so they could scale down everything but the legs would have to use that piece.
With Cole's, you judge based on the wheel size the type/size of wheel will determine the overall size/scale.

Though looking at Kai's Mech, its going to be really odd that his mech will be so much larger than Lloyd's Dragon.

Was'nt the D2C POTC set also revealed at Toy Fair? If so, that means they do occasionally show D2C's.

Thanks for the tip, but I'm afraid I don't know enough about Lego to take advantage of it!

Someone a few pages back mentioned that Cole's mech might use the rear wheel from 70595 Ultra Stealth Raider, which I can see working.  Still can't figure out which set # Cole's mech is though...

Wait.  What?  Oh crap!    I love the design of that mech and I'd hate to have to wait until Wave 2 for it.  It's weird that all of the other ninja vehicles release in wave 1 and they only hold one vehicle back for wave 2.  Unless the ninja's have other vehicles that we don't know about! 

But, I think you're on to something there.  The initial "code names" seems to use the ninja's first initial and the first letter of the vehicle name.  I.E.  "LD" = "Lloyd's Dragon".  "KM" = Kai's Mech, etc.  I don't see any code starting with "C".  Also, Cole's mech has "Quake" printed on it and I believe might have been referred to as "Cole's Quake Roller" or some such thing and no letters corresponding to that either.

Has anyone else heard anything about Cole's mech not being in the 1st wave?  I figured there would be 2 waves, but I also thought that all of the main stuff (i.e. the Ninja's vehicles in the trailer) would be a lock for wave 1.

If we don't take the letters into account, I think that the only likely candidate for Cole's mech is 70611. It's unlikely but the price seems about where it should be and it's got a C in it.

I don't understand how they're going to get Cole's mech to balance on one wheel, but I guess they have a plan. I'm also surprised that they're holding it back till wave 2, seeing as how he's a main character and everyone else has their vehicles in this wave.

Yeah, that was my thought as well until I saw Tragic Banjo's post.  Don't know if he has any insider info or if it's just an educated guess on his part, but I guess we will know soon enough.  Actually BZPower did say specifically in their summary of TLNM sets at NYTF that Cole's mech was not shown among the collection of Wave 1 sets that were at NYTF.  However, BZP only accounted for about 8 sets in their summary of what they saw and they also said that Zane's tank was not on display either.  Cole's mini figure was on display.

That could be done easily enough.  There is probably some kind of "kickstand" integrated into the model that allows it to stand up unassisted.

I love that we get civilians with the sets and I am not surprised by them holding Cole's mech for the second wave. I would almost think that they would hold more then one back just to have more draw and hype for the second wave with getting more or all of the mech vehicles.

Kai's mech looks great, though I'm concerned that the knees may not bend. I'm most looking forward to Loyd's dragon, that may be the only set I get of the wave(budget constraints with all of the great Marvel and Star Wars sets).

It could be store exclusive and it matches JS(Jay Stormfighter?) from leaked list.
