Yeah but the LotR and Hobbit lines were failures because Lego seriously mismanaged them after their first waves...the second LotR wave was awful. The corsair pirate ship? Are you joking me? And orthanc never should've been the UCS. People were begging for Minas Tirith and they ignored them and gave them a big ugly black tower that plays less significance than the other. Not to mention boring figs and a lame one no one asked for. Seriously how did we not get Eyowen in the theme but got worm tongue? Just stupid.

Lets not rehash the whole LOTR thing in here...

I get the caution about the potential for this theme, but LEGO has kept some things pretty close to the vest lately and I still think there is a small chance of sets. Its still 4+ months till the movie's release.

There is no official mainstream fantastic beasts and where to find them sets being made. But there is a story pack being made for FB (lego dimensions) and don't know about any fun or team packs though.

My biggest regret on LEGO was that I never got the LEGO harry potter sets.

I Would love to get a Hogwarts or a Ministry of Magic and even some Fantastic Beast sets!

According to brickset.com there is two Harry Potter packs to come out, one you've seen, the other has been revealed yet. It is also unspecified to which pack it is.

That has been confirmed, there's a Dimensions topic for that really, also another Fun Pack for FB,

I'd say there's a change we'll get sets as well, i mean, we really got info about some sets 2 months before their release date in some cases!

despite enjoying it, there is a bit lego star wars/super hero fatigue. Some FB sets would be very welcome.

Source?

I'd say TLG will wait until after the movie is released, or will have a surprise September wave. I feel if they are to make sets, it would be the latter.

It hasn't been confirmed nor denied.

See, that is what I thought, just wasn't sure.

I've recently seen trailer in my local cinema and now I want sets so bad. I love this atmosphere, which reminds me of 2001 when I bought my first HP lego sets, so if TLG won't make anything, I'll make it myself.

My source was a youtuber (can't remember sorry, I think it might have been just2good, but not sure) said the were no sets but tbh lego has a good connection with Warner bros and we've had HP sets before now and FB is related to that so who knows?

If the new huge Disney castle sells very well, do you guys believe it is possible that we will get a D2C Hogwarts set under the fantastic beasts banner in the future?

They'd sell a Hogwarts with HP characters, not FB.

I don't think one reflects the other, they are very different styles and brands, disney has their own special fan base. lego have been making more 350bucks sets 'recently' tho so theres mroe of a trend going there

I've been thinking something similar for a while (I think I've posted it before, so sorry if I have!), however I think the Ghostbusters HQ is a better comparison. The Ghostbusters theme got a small regular retail release of only two sets, and even then they weren't regular retail like a traditional LEGO wave: one was an Ideas set, and the other was a one-off. The theme did get several Dimensions sets, however, and Fantastic Beasts and Harry Potter are getting two of those each, if I'm remembering correctly, one of which is a Story Pack just like one of the new Ghostbusters packs. So based on that I'm hoping we might see a huge Hogwarts similar to the Ghostbusters HQ. Only time will tell though! :classic:

Some nice parts in that set. Nexo shields in brown, plenty of gold elves fence, the dragon emblem. Shows why we need real Fantastic Beasts sets. I have thought about buying dimensions sets and reselling the RFID bases, this may be one where I finally have to try it.

Meh,still pissed that we're not getting proper sets.

We might still. just not this year.

From what I hear the next movie comes out on 2018.So if we do get sets it's gonna be a long wait untill then.

Newt should really have the zombie business man hair, the one hes got does not look like movie Newt, it just looks like how the actor often has his hair outside of the film...
