I saved so much money doing it in a grey color scheme. Those 122 white 2L ribbed hoses that go for $1 each got subbed for flat silver ones that cost 2 cents each. Between my part collection and bricklink I don't think I spent more than $30 on it.

Thanks! I should mention that I started with probably 75% of the parts from my own collection to begin the project. So your cost may vary.

But I will say that if there was a rare or expensive part that was called for, it was creatively subbed out with another solution, such as those white quarter domes on the front. A USC snowspeeder would be a must have. I'm still kicking myself for not purchasing the super star which now has more then doubled in price.
