June 23, 20177 yr The new AA battery box still has the 750 mA PTC resettable fuse, only not on PCB but as separate component, soldered between battery+ terminal and cable. The part is Bourns MF-R075 MF-R075 750 mA resettable fuse
June 23, 20177 yr I noticed these changes when I got the new box, but didn't think anything of it. I assumed that Lego would go through small design changes on new part production cycles once the old ones are gone. Does this constitute a big change in terms of what Lego normally does? As in normally reproduce the same part with no changes? I personally see no good reason to ever get rid of the PF1 system. Technic sets have had no need for a programmable sensor reading control brick yet. If it did, A new BT PF receiver is easily done. Maybe a gyro, BT, and ability to read sensors could be built into a IR receiver v3. It is certainly doable when looking at what others are doing(boost, sbrick, buwizz, PFx).
