Dead Man's Rock, Bastion Harbour

Capt. Rhys Flaidd DeTaillefer

Despite the rainy weather, we managed to make good progress on Dead Man's Rock.

It's a tiny rock protrusion from the sea near the mouth of Bastion's Harbour.

We found the ruin of an old building, and through several weeks of diligent effort, Bastion now has a functioning Lighthouse.

The fires can be seen for miles, and help guide Sea Rats back to their home port....

It's not much of an architectural wonder....but should serve it's purpose nicely....

I am a SR, so no official approval. Consider this my unofficial approval. I like the aesthetic you have here Vedauwoo.

Not sure it's a good idea to have an open flame on a primarily wooden structure pirate_laugh2.gif!

The build is quite nice. You did a good job making it appear to be a ruined structure that has simply been added onto. Making it all the better are all the details, it adds a lot to the aesthetics of this build.

I approve .

Tis excellent! We all need a lighthouse somewhere.

That is a good one - and something different from our usual builds.

I see that you make efficient use of the latest bricks!

I approve

Great. No other words.

Of course I approve (such a silly question  )

I knew those shield emblems would start cropping up somewhere.

And that's a very nicely done lighthouse.

I approve thumbup.gif

I approve, there can't be too many lego lighthouses keeping the ships safe.

I approve! I like its out of ordinary architecture as it feels like a quickly scrambled building, totally the style of Sea rats!

Being a Rat I can not approve. Nice use of Tonto fig. Good lead in to the next FB.

The lighthouse is well built. I approve. thumbup.gif

thanks so much for all the comments so far!

Just one question....A "Lighthouse" can't really be licensed as anything, can it? Does it qualify for the "small fort" build by chance?

Cool lighthouse - I too like the idea of it being built on top of a ruin! I like the landscaping and the different platforms, as well as the guy bringing firewood. I would suggest making it more clear, that the old part is a ruin, perhaps some wallstumps or something protruding from the sides or top.

As for licensing, I would say that this is a commercial service, and would therefore license it as a commerce building. I am not sure if it is large enough for a medium license, but it definitely has the size for a small with plenty to spare.

I approve!

Very good lighthouse. It looks just about perfect for that time period and the heavy use of brown/wood looks great. I like the tower design and the winding staircase. Overall it's a very pleasing arrangement.

Approved!
