But unlike many moments in spite of some minor paranoia, he accepted this, assuming she either knew her prior, or Masson had spoken of her... still it gave him thought. "You here to help?!" "As much as we can" Siercon said. He then scanned the perimeter to see if there was anything nearby which would allow the fire to spread. "Fire bore a hole right in the building, and it looks like that dragon's ice breath made it an easy path through. Go, all of you, quick!" The party runs into the HQ. Fire roars, consuming the walls, tearing down the ceiling and pillars as it eats away everything. Tendrils of red and orange illuminate the place, smoke escaping through holes in the roof the fire burned. The party stumbles thorugh the inferno, until... Masson and Gabriel desperately try to dismantle the fiery barrier separating them. Both were afraid, covered in sweat. Those who hadn't seen Masson in a while note that he lacked an arm... The man in purple, Masson turns towards them. "What are you doing here, it isn't..." "You're gonna reject help, when I'm about to get roasted alive?!" Shouts Gabriel over the roaring flames. "Think this through for a-" The ceiling burns. A burning pipe is dislodged, nearly red hot from the flames. A couple inches more forward, and it would've crushed Gabriel's skull. It scalds his back instead. "Agh! Fucking HELL!" exclaims Gabriel, clutching the burn point, face contorted in anger and pain. "We need to get through all of this rubble. Vindsval wraps his scorpion cape around his mouth and nose to help him breath and moves forward to where the brothers are trying to get though the flaming barrier. Wanderer give me strength. The Giant lays his good hand upon Gabriel, it glows with a golden light. The golden energy flows into the small man and Vindsval HEALS GABRIEL'S BURNS GET BEHIND ME!!! Vindsval screams as he pushes the two humans back from the burning barrier. He lead with his left shoulder. knocking aside the flaming pipe and clearing the wreckage beyond. He pulls piece after piece of debris away until he finds a supporting beam still intact. He grabs ahold of it, now thankful he is no longer fully of flesh and bone, and heaves it upward, hoping to both open and support a path through the flames for the rest of the party. But Vindsval's thrashing in the giant heap of burning debris triggers a chain reaction. The knocked over pillar caves into a wall, spraying more burning rock onto the half born. The half-born crushed some of the rubble, and even made a net gain in progress due to his efforts, but his movements undid some of his work. Gabriel was still trapped, and smoke was beginning to cloud everyone's vision. He is forced to retreat, strained and burnt. "Are you insane?! It's an inferno! You're lucky you didn't just get crushed... Make any last minute preparations, because we can't just wade through this. We need to dismantle it, snuff it out." Arthur, perhaps with your Magnifying Glass you can identify the weak points in the barricade? Your helmet should allow you to get quite close without harm.>" Arthur nods and prepares to carry out Miirym's plan, but before doing so he stops. "Wait. Fly me over to him first, so we can work on this from both sides." Miirym nods her assent. "<Very well. Arthur and I will remain on the other side with the other man, where Arthur will analyze the barrier's weaknesses. If someone on this side has a Magnifying Glass, you should do the same from here.>" With that, Miirym carries Arthur aloft, the maneuver not unlike the Jump Hits they had so often performed in battle. He pats out the flames and embers smoldering on his cloak and armor. He says a silent prayer, and places a glowing hand against his own chest. His breathing eases, and the strain on his face lessens, the pain from the burns ebbing. He watches the dragon and its knight attempt to do what he could not. BE ready Gabriel, we will still reach you. Neither you nor anyone else will parish here. He continues slightly more softly. I hope the dungeons of this place are buried deep. Quote
