Lind Whisperer Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 It would seem some of our companions have continued without us. Do we know which way they went? Or would my compass be needed to track them? Regardless we need to be on our way and find our ally in this place. "Sir Arthur ran off that way, I think he was tracking the Falconer down." Quote
Endgame Posted May 9, 2016 Author Posted May 9, 2016 The ground was saturated by the increasingly intense downpour. Arthur was leaving footprints in the mud as he sought The Falconer. QM Note: Got to make a few sets/want to give swils a chance to respond. Quote

swils Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 Yikes, you take a day or two to move out of a dorm, and you miss a lot! I should be here for the next week or so, but with fair warning, I was caught off guard when I heard my summer arrangements were shifting from an apartment to a dry cabin... unsure of how reliable my internet will be following that move. Arx leapt up and took to the air, trying to scout his friends' distance so far. Thormanil, having withdrawn to his own thoughts while the others argued, snapped back to attention at Jinnipher's nudge. Having previously come off as rather aloof, he was taken off guard by her address. "Huh? Oh, nah... nah. He's got a powerful grip on magic, more'n most, but when we were speaking last, he mentioned that his feats take both a lot of time and energy. If it comes down to a fight, I don't expect him to be able to bowl right over us, at least. I think the scariest part about him right now is how mild mannered he's been. Other powerful dragons I've met, they're all too eager to roar at you about how strong they are, and a bunch of 'Fear me, bow to me' nonsense. Immortalis seems to accept his own, well, mortality." He rambles a bit as he looks towards the sky to see where Arx had gone. Quote
Kintobor Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 This involves your inquiry about the love potion doesn't it? Vindsval lifts a hand before Lind can respond. No, Leave the walked path behind you for the time being. If I am needed to know, I am sure I will be brought into the know. He again looks around for his missing companions. Mistress Karie, would you lead us then to our next destination? "If all of you are ready, let's get a move on and find Arthur. He seems to know where he's going, so if we find him, we find our veteran." Arx leapt up and took to the air, trying to scout his friends' distance so far. Thormanil, having withdrawn to his own thoughts while the others argued, snapped back to attention at Jinnipher's nudge. Having previously come off as rather aloof, he was taken off guard by her address. "Huh? Oh, nah... nah. He rambles a bit as he looks towards the sky to see where Arx had gone. "I don't like him because he's arrogant and has a grating "holy than thou" attitude to him. His angels don't help his cause, either. Needless to say, we're not getting to him any quicker standing around here looking to catch colds. Let's get a move on." Karie scowled. She wrapped her arms together. The wind and the rain was beginning to get to her skin, and she was hoping to get to the veteran sooner than later. Quote
Asphalt Posted May 10, 2016 Posted May 10, 2016 Vindsval leaves exceptionally large, exceptionally deep footprints as he follows along Author's Trail. Quote
Endgame Posted May 11, 2016 Author Posted May 11, 2016 The rain grows heavier. It begins to come down in a torrent, slicing across the wind and cutting the heroes like cold razors. Arthur follows the compass, and the party follows the trail of footprints he was leaving. Eventually, the party rejoins and finds The Falconer's training grounds. The Veteran hears the sloshing footsteps and turns around. "Heroes, you-" Another voice chooses to cut her off. Vaermina. "Excuse me for interrupting." "Hmph. One of the dragon's soldiers, I presume?" "Indeed." Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Another voice chooses to cut her off. "Indeed." Pointedly ignoring the Dragoon, Lind nodded at Vaermina. "Nice to see you again."He aimed the Windspitter's Deck at her. "Sorry you can't stay." Quote
Kintobor Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 (edited) "Eyes alert, everyone. Take a moment to look around and ensure our friend isn't the only one here. Including you, Anemos." Karie orders, taking a look around herself for any signs of the other angels. She clutched her guitar neck firmly, fingers itching to pluck a string. "Fool me once. I distinctly remember you with Charon when you knocked us out, and we're not going to be experiencing that again anytime soon." Edited May 11, 2016 by Kintobor Quote

Asphalt Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 You certainly have some diverse tastes in women Whisperer. Be gone from here "Angel" we have business to attend to. Vindsval takes a step closer to the falconer and, using his cloak to protect it from the elements, draws his scroll of poison. He Casts in on Slasher. OOC: If not successful after 4 attempts he will stop trying. Quote
Kintobor Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Karie catches the Parasol, equipping it and remove the Encore Plectrum. She opens the parasol up, thankful to finally be out of the rain. She would've admired the umbrella's more elaborate detailing, but that would have to wait until after the encounter. "Ah, thanks Arthur!" Quote

Jinnipher scowled at the new arrival, before she could even greet Hestia Bonaparte. "You had better keep flying, fallen angel. I don't take kindly to being stabbed in the back." Quote
Siercon and Coral Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 OOC: Siercon is also immune to sleep. Though not immune to fast asleep. So I'm assuming the last sleeping spell was 'fast asleep' but if in case 'immune to sleep' plays a role in the future, just wanted to put it out there. :) Siercon drew svens dagger and readied himself for an immediate attack. Endgame Posted May 12, 2016 Author Posted May 12, 2016 "I'm sure you've all met opposition who preferred to send out their fighters one by one, or in small groups. Well..." The party glances around. Gray shapes. Gray shapes moving in the woods, dancing just beyond the shoreline, obscured by rain... Miirym takes to the skies to look for angels. She finds them, but only after one of them takes a swing - she deftly dodges as the full threat starts to reveal itself. "That is not what we angels do. Know that we still remain a nonlethal force. You will not die here, not yet. Not while Eubric ca still capitulate. But Immortalis's exact words were "use more direct methods." Strivus's and Charon's exact words were "drop the hammer." Do you know how I interpreted those orders, heroes?" The party sees gray streaks of light burst from the forest, gather near the shoreline as rain poured down and waves crashed. They surround, envelop, and constrict around the party, silhouettes of white and gray and black, surrounding them. And at the front of the horde? Four out of Immortalis's six head angels. "It's the end of the line." "...I'm very sorry it had to come to this." The Falconer tightens her grip on her weapons as she sees the massive horde approach them from all directions, Vaermina, Glaz, Corvis, and Telethia leading it all. "No time for introductions. We have only the briefest of moments left - brace yourselves, now!" The party had a chance to make any further preparations before the battle commenced! Quote
Flipz Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 "<Vindsval, I could use some healing.>" "Actually, on that subject..." Kintobor Posted May 12, 2016 Posted May 12, 2016 Karie grimaced at the oncoming horde of angels. She ensures her ether is maxed, as well as her health using grand tonics and grand potions. She digs her feet into the dirt, readying her stance as she taps her foot in rhythm. "That is not what we angels do. Know that we still remain a nonlethal force. You will not die here, not yet. Not while Eubric ca still capitulate. But Immortalis's exact words were "use more direct methods." Strivus's and Charon's exact words were "drop the hammer." Do you know how I interpreted those orders, heroes?" "Well done, bring the entire army of angels to us. Like bringing lambs to the slaughter." Karie shook her head, looking tired and frustrated. She'd beaten these sort of odds before, but not with the life she had built on the line. Not to this degree. "Do not forget this is not about power, Vaermina." says Telethia softly, clutching the flowers in her hands. Vaermina glares at her, seemingly. "I know there is no talking you out of your folly. So may the best horde win, yes? Just know I will not be humiliated again." "..." Glaz seemed distant. Karie's Empath Glass, the very gift she got from this angel, detected sadness in his heart.
