Unfortunately, the two Charons remain agile: Karie finds herself plagued by Death's Touch once more, and the duplicate blindisdes Vindsval. Charon's plunge attack on Vindsval, combined with his duplicate's swift blow to the back of his head, sends the half giant toppling over. "One knocked out hero per round? Not a terrible pace, but it couuld be worked on..." Charon, Level ??? Unseen Might: Charon uses some sort of unseen force to make the hero who rolled Special Damage collide with the hero below them in the battle order. They take damage to the other hero's level x2. If there is no person below the hero in the battle order, they are slammed into ground for damage equal to their own level x2. Fatal Blow: Charon uses a portal to get behind the hero who rolled Special Damage and bludgeons them in the back of the head, instantly knocking them out. Specials decided randomly. Passive Specials: Death Lingers: Rolls of damage and free hits have a 1/2 chance of inflicting Impending Doom. Redirect: Attacks on any part of Charon have a 1/6 chance of being redirected to any random hero via portal. Redirected attacks cause damage equal to the attacking hero's level to the new target. Stance - Striker: At the end of every round, Charon has a 1/6 chance of entering Striker stance at the end of every round, lasting for one round. All parts have their level halved while in stance, but he will then use portals to disregard Row for all rolls of damage/free hits from any part of him while in Striker stance. (Has no effect on Redirects.) Stance - Piercer: At the end of every round, Charon has a 1/6 chance of entering Piercer stance at the end of every round, lasting for one round. All parts have their level halved while in stance, but he will then use portals to disregard SP for all rolls of damage/free hits from any part of him while in Piercer stance. (Has no effect on Redirects.) Portal Clones: Every 3 rounds from now, Charon will create another duplicate of any remaining body parts he still has. Duplicates will always have the stats of the current duplicate. Lind Whisperer Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 OoC: Shouldn't Wing Duplicate B have vanished, since we killed the main one? Portal Clones: Every 3 rounds from now, Charon will create another duplicate of any remaining body parts he still has. Duplicates will always have the stats of the current duplicate. Killing the main body of a duplicate destroys everything associated with it, and killing the main body of the true Charon ends the battle. Quote
Endgame Posted July 1, 2016 Author Posted July 1, 2016 QM Note: Nope, that means that if you killed the duplicate's "head", its wings and blades would go down with it. Destroying the real Charon's left wing doesn't effect his doppelgangers. Quote
JimBee Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 OOC: I think you forgot about poison/enamor again. Also why did everyone get two turns? At the end of last round Karie only had 4 ether. Jinnipher regained her cool a little bit after Gabriel got up. "Just try to stay on your feet a little more, yeah? Let's teach this bird a lesson." She hoists her shield and charges at Charon from the front row. Quote
Siercon and Coral Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 (edited) Siercon was slammed down hard, and barely maintained conciousness. Still, he scrapped to his feet pushing through his aching joints and sputtered... "One down, one to go." Siercon repeats attack on Wing A. (Only Takes hollow potion after first attack if he has no second attack.) Jinnipher regained her cool a little bit after Gabriel got up. "Just try to stay on your feet a little more, yeah? Let's teach this bird a lesson." "Agreed. And watch where you're swinging that blade, alright? ...And for the record, that hair dye does work on the guys you hit, I got to learn that first hand before I blanked out." said Gabriel, smirking ever so slightly as he began to take aim once more. Kintobor Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 OOC: I think you forgot about poison/enamor again. Also why did everyone get two turns? At the end of last round Karie only had 4 ether. OOC: Encore Plectrum, I assume? Karie uncorks a Remedy from the back and drinks it before topping that off with a Grand Tonic. She shakes herself out of the cold, dull numbness that had returned over her body, expelling it from her as the remedy washed over her. "Well... I'm never getting used to this sensation." Quote
Flipz Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 OOC: Jinxed is permanent, just like Slowed. Also, wing duplicate B should be gone as soon as Wing B went. Endgame Posted July 5, 2016 Author Posted July 5, 2016 (edited) QM Note: Sorry for the delay! July 4th celebrations got a bit hectic, and also started on July 3rd for some reason... Clear schedule for at least the end of August now, but we certainly won't be needing that long. Versus Charon, Round Four >Thormanil throws a Doomsday Bomb >Arthur VS Charon (front): Damage Shield (40*3=120+43=163+1=164*8=1312 damage) >Siercon drinks then attacks Wing Duplicate A (back): Hit (Wing A is destroyed) >Jinnipher VS Charon (front): Miss Critical Hit (5*2=10+14=28*4=112 damage, Charon is Enamored!) >Lind VS Charon (back): Hit Hit (Redirected: Back at Lind! No damage) >Karie drinks a tonic (back) >Karie drinks a remedy (back) >Charon VS Thormanil (back): No damage, no death's touch >Charon does not enter a stance >Charon duplicates himself once more Jinnipher defends the party as bombs ravage the Archangel, peeling off his wings. Arthur follows up with a hefty slash of his edge of Eschaton duplicate, and Jinnipher manages to somehow entice the mourning Charon. Charon turns to look at his wings - now just smoldering piles of feathers, something that had happened to him once before - and turns back around to face the party. He manages to retain an iota of composure. "Hey, here's an idea. Let's talk about today's forecast." Charon opens up a portal, giving the party a glimpse of Eubric. The stormclouds now had an ominous blue tint to them, dancing with rcs of lightning and static. The sky seemed to ripple and pulsate, as if a thin veil of clouds was holding back some sort of unstoppable force... "It won't be long now. Seems like the storm is almost ready to do its thing. A collosal burst of lightning will reduce the city to ash. The rain will put out the fires and wash away the stains, and the wind will sweep away whatever is left. It's nature's perfect eraser, and it is gonna let loose on your damned city real soon. Of course, Immortalis's heart is way too heavy to fight you at his peak. He'll hold back against you, I am certain of that. Meaning that I have more responsiblity than ever to put an end to this farce..." Charon duplicates himself again. "R e a d y ?" Flipz Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 OOC: I think Charon's Fragile should have worn off. Also, Karie used a Grand Tonic, so she should have more Ether. Do the duplicates get letters now, or do they just share a single healthbar and get more Free Hits as more of them appear? "Your call, Karie," Arthur calls out. "I have a decent bead on Charon with my Dauntlet Index, or I could permanently render a clone harmless for the rest of the battle with my Spider Leg Spear. Either way, we should be safe enough to spend a single-target Essence on Vindsval. We should put one Hero on each clone, and then everyone else should either pile on Charon or else prep to Ether up Karie." (OOC: only 16/81 chance of taking Damage or Special Damage, dealing 336 damage minimum on Hits and Crits and better-than-half (671/1296) odds of a SHIELD for 656 damage. All of this assumes no songs sung, of course--it seems a waste of Ether right now.) If Karie asks Arthur to attack Charon, he attacks Charon with his Dauntlet Index from the Front Row. If asked to attack a duplicate, Arthur attacks the specified duplicate from the Back Row with his Spider Leg Spear. If given a second attack, he either repeats (if attacking Charon) or attacks the other duplicate from the Back Row with his Spider Leg Spear. "If we get Vind up, he should take the real Charon." JimBee Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Jinnipher peers through the portal, but appears unimpressed. "You know you've lost and you're only trying to prove to yourself what you've accomplished. For an archangel you're mighty pathetic. Here's a thought to keep you company while that venom courses through your veins: your plan will never succeed. We are going to beat you, and we will beat Immortalis. Goodbye, Charon." The moon elf strikes again in the back row. OOC: I think Charon's Fragile should have worn off.
