swils Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Arx paws his way in front of the taskmaster, and jumps up to eye-level, hovering there. <"I'd bet you're a good judge of strength, so give me an even match!"> He pauses, then adds, sheepishly, <"Err, please!"> Quote
Endgame Posted March 20, 2016 Author Posted March 20, 2016 Strivus seems to wait a moment before responding. "I think your dragon just asked for an even match? I apologize, my draconic isn't up to snuff. Nevertheless, I can arrange that. I guess that means no Chakraval, then, heh." Quote
Kintobor Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Karie, being left alone in the entrance hall, shoves her hands into her pockets and heads for the Reflection Room. Quote
Siercon and Coral Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Siercon heads to the wildlife garden. The area was teeming with life. While the rest of the hall seemed quiet, this stretch of land was filled with creatures of all shapes and sizes and shades, all shuffling about the biome's streams and hills. Strange beetles scutter about, rare looking birds sing a melodic song, and large lizards escort their child to the stream for a quick drink. An angel was caring for all of them, making sure nothing went awry. It occurs to Siercon he had never seen any of these particular animals before - similar ones, perhaps, but all of these looked quite unique... "Greetings. I am Corvis. I have never seen you around here, stranger. Might you be a new recruit?" Corvis offers his hand for a handshake. As Siercon walked the halls, he surprisingly took note that his appearance was very similar all of these angels. Towards the beginning when they first encountered Charon, he simply thought it was fluke. As the number grew, he accepted the possibility of pretending like he belonged... Siercon shakes the angels hand. "I'm here to do my best sir! Corvis? I'm Siercon." He said seeking to lead Corvis to believe that he was indeed a new angel recruit, without saying it outright. It wasn't quite a lie... Siercon continued "Apparently, I have a lot to learn. Where would you like me to begin?" Quote
Endgame Posted March 20, 2016 Author Posted March 20, 2016 "That's... Quite peculiar. We normally get prior notice. And I can usually tell straight away... I lack the perception that my brethren have, if it doesn't apply to animals. So, Immortalis sent you here? What did he tell you to do? I was under the impression I had the wildlife garden pretty well under control." Quote
swils Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 "Heh heh, figured if you worked for Immortalis, you might be fluent. You got the important bits though! Let's see how he does on his own!" Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 Strivus seems to wait a moment before responding. "I think your dragon just asked for an even match? The Black Knight quietly entered the hall, and waited his turn with the trainer. Quote

I was under the impression I had the wildlife garden pretty well under control." "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean it in that way, and definitely didn't get any hint from Immortalis that the garden was not under your masterful control." Siercon said seeking a tone which apologized for a lack of flattery. "It was quite the opposite, I suppose that's why I'm here. Immortals was needed in the judgment chamber, and while I was being guided by Charon for a bit, he seemed to be in a hurry to go somewhere, and Telethia seems somewhat busy with the Heroica ambassadors." Siercon hoped that mentioning two angel names would help... but then also figured talking to animals would only help with the ploy. He cautiously walked up to the birds. "You are both remarkably elegant, I've never seen such unique creatures... " He said using his animal speak hood. Trailing off at the end waiting for the birds reply, while looking back at Corvis to gauge his reaction. Quote
Endgame Posted March 20, 2016 Author Posted March 20, 2016 (edited) "Immortalis taught me the dialect he speaks - as in, one that's existed since he did. And considering he's the first dragon, you can imagine it's a bit... antiquated. Huh. I would've guessed you would've opted for group training, but be my guess if you want a one-on-one... Dragon, on the arena." Arx gets set. Strivus raises his scepter, and white stones begin to float out of the pond and take shape... It was a strange looking golem - four talons, and two stony protrusions that were tipped with barbs. Wings, perhaps? It mvoes more organically than its composition would imply, as it shifts its weight into a pouncing stance against Arx. "Meet Fenrir. Now, dragon, prepare yourself!" Prepare For Battle! Fenrir, Level 40 Ancient HP: 200/200 Specials: Fenrir Fracture: Fenrir rams into Arx, doing 50 damage and reducing the dragon's max HP by 10 for the rest of the battle. Meanwhile, a bell from the judgment hall could be heard. "Well, well, well. Looks like the first judgment is done, judging by the bell." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Siercon speaks to the birds. <Caw! You don't have wings like the other fella, caw!> <No feed, either!> "They're right about the lack of wings, you know. Listen. I am not the brightest nor the most perceptive of Immortalis's workers. imply speak the truth, and I can give you a tour of the garden, and we can pretend this never happened. Fair enough?" A bell can be heard from the Judgment Hall. "That's one judgment down, by the sound of things. Five to go." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Karie heads to the Reflection Room. An angel was working with a crystal, focused very intently on his work. He whistles a jolly little tune as azure magic is channeled through the gem. Karie notes his wings were more transparent than the brilliant gem he was working on. The sound of a ringing bell throughout the entire judgment hall snaps him out of his work momentarily, causing him to notice Karie. "Oh, my! Hello, stranger, I apologize I didn't hear you earlier... I was lost in my duties, I suppose. Without Telethia here to help me, I'm afraid I'm a little too easily entranced by my work. The poor girl must be running herself ragged right now, making sure everything goes smoothly. But still, it's nice to have company. I'm Iglesion, but everybody just calls me Glaz. Pleased to meet you!" Glaz gives a respectful bow. "I don't suppose there is anything I can help you with? If you fancy it, this room is great for some meditation. I can give you some guidance if you've never done it, if you'd like?" Edited March 20, 2016 by Endgame Quote

Endgame Posted March 20, 2016 Author Posted March 20, 2016 (edited) QM Note: Sorry for unclear wording - it's up to four turns total per round, meaning you only get three additional turns, max. Also, could you specify row? (You can choose row per attack, by the way.) "Your dragon is certainly enthusiastic, but Fenrir isn't going to lie down and take it." "Lind Whisperer, Black Knight." He eyed the golem advancing towards Arx. "I don't suppose you have a Holy humanoid or two among your crew, would you?" "I wonder who it was..." "Amongst my golems? No, no holy humanoids. Is there an angel in Eschaton like that? Most definitely." Edited March 20, 2016 by Endgame Quote
Kintobor Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 The bell ringing throughout the hall's of Eschaton startled Karie as well, causing her to look around. It seemed like these judgements would be quicker than she expected. "Uh, yes, hello! My name is Karie. It's a pleasure to meet you as well." Karie bows in response to Glaz's, trying her hardest to wrap her head around everything she was seeing. It suddenly dawned on her what Telethia meant by "kindest souls you'll ever meet". The notion of meditation perked Karie's interests, but she was more piqued by the glowing gem. "So, um... I'm new to all of this. Can you explain what exactly it is you're doing right now?" Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted March 20, 2016 Posted March 20, 2016 "Ah. Well, then, just any someone about my size. Humanoid would be nice; but if that's not possible I quite understand." Quote

"Nice to meet you, Karie. And don't worry about being "new" to all of this, because Eschaton is like nowhere else. ...Except maybe Etheria. You're one of the Heroicans, right? It's nice to see some people who like to take things... Slower, I guess? Most warrior types like to flock to the training grounds and duke it out with Strivus's creations. I think Telethia must've told you about how memories float around this place, right? Well, we want to contain them, and have a way for those who are authorized to see 'em at will. I'm basically an archivist, except I'm dealing with a whooooole lot of memories. Some are kind of sad, but a lot are happy, too. Either way, I channel them into these crystals. It's a bit difficult, but it'd be boring otherwise. After that we have our ways of tapping into these crystals. They're scattered all around Eschaton in fact, and I make more than half of them. If you ever want to find me, right here is a safe bet. That's also why this room is so great for meditation. Memories thrive here, in your head and out. I can guarantee you can remember stuff more clearly, sift through your thoughts more easily. It's a pretty big perk of working here." Glaz returns to his work, whistling out a few more bars of his tune before continuing. "I don't have all those fancy powers like all the other angels, really. Charon, Telethia, Vaermina can all pull off some neat stuff, but me? I'm just an empath. I can see what people are feeling, and that's about it. Part of the reason why I offered the chance of meditation. Not a bad power, though! Helped me become a better person in the end, I like to think." Edited March 20, 2016 by Endgame Quote
