Kintobor Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 (edited) "Nice to meet you, Karie. And don't worry about being "new" to all of this, because Eschaton is like nowhere else. ...Except maybe Etheria. You're one of the Heroicans, right? It's nice to see some people who like to take things... Slower, I guess? Most warrior types like to flock to the training grounds and duke it out with Strivus's creations. "I don't have all those fancy powers like all the other angels, really. Charon, Telethia, Vaermina can all pull off some neat stuff, but me? I'm just an empath. I can see what people are feeling, and that's about it. Part of the reason why I offered the chance of meditation. Not a bad power, though! Helped me become a better person in the end, I like to think." Karie sighed. "Yeah, well... I wouldn't call myself a warrior. I never have been, and I have no real intention to become one." Karie looks around her, patting her sides. "So.. about meditating in here. What do I need to do?" Edited March 22, 2016 by Kintobor Quote

The guitar is a bit of a giveaway, no empath senses needed there. Either way, take a seat." Glaz motions to some comfy chairs in the room. "I'm going to help guide you through under the assumption you're meditating to relax, and not to try and discover some universal truth or something. trust me, the boss does the latter, and it takes days - the former is far easier. I confess that this isn't going to be that magical or anything. This room is just a good place to clear your head, and I'll help you with it." Glaz speaks in a calm, soothing voice - just above a whisper, just below conversational volume - and continues. "Since the overall goal here is to not be so stressed out, I want you to start by closing your eyes, letting the rest of the world fade away for a little while, and think about who or what you're thankful for. That always helps me decompress, try it." Edited March 22, 2016 by Endgame Quote

Siercon and Coral Posted March 22, 2016 Posted March 22, 2016 (edited) "...Correct. We can't destroy everything, yes? When we erase a place, there are some things that need to be made extinct. But these animals... There is no use in destroying them forever. They'll be returned to Olegaia, one day, when their numbers are good enough. Just a century or two ago we finally got to put the Bogossi back, thank the powers that be, those things require an acre of space to themselves. But you understand what's going on here. We can't erase everything. We don't necessarily want to. Since Immortalis did not outline your duties, why don't I give you a tour?" Siercon nodded his head in a half bow and spoke. "Why thank you, that would be most helpful. I will help as best as I can!" Obediently he followed and listened to what Corvis had to say. At an appropriate pause, Siercon asks, "So these beautiful creatures were taken from Olegaia before it was erased... I guess I can painfully presume there is an instructional story about Olegaia's choices which lead to their destruction?" Subtly, Siercon hoped to learn more about Immortalis' parameters for judgment. Edited March 22, 2016 by Siercon and Coral Quote

It does pain me though, to watch others fail, in spite of their potential for right. Falling below..." Siercon trailed off noting that these angels didn't look particularly unfallen... "Regardless, your question is a good one. I think off hand, without regard to if they can be found elsewhere outside of Eubric, I would have to say the Gryphons." Gryphon *Immune to Instant Kill, Blind, Sealed, and Asleep* Type: Flying/Holy (As seen in quest #104) "They are powerful, noble, holy, and would greatly aid in the growth of a new world. They seem to have the potential for higher sentience, with the qualities to serve and lead with the loyalty of the dog, the utility of the horse, the beauty and reach of the eagle, and the versatile power of a dragon. And all these, they display without many of their restrictions, and more importantly, volatility of character." Siercon couldn't help but feel like this might have been a test, but figured he would give his first thought. So, he tried to ignore going over ever possible rarity and evolution chain running though his head... Perhaps it would be best to save a 1st order species, or one that has the most potential to exhibit others, or... Regardless, he doubted it was too loaded of a question, so he simply looked for Corvis' reaction. "What would you pick?" Siercon Inquired. Edited March 23, 2016 by Siercon and Coral Quote

"Yeah, if it takes Immortalis a few days looking for universal truths, it'll probably take me a month at the least." Karie took in a few deep breaths, mainly trying to remember watching her step sister do this. She closed her eyes. Who was she thankful for? Karie never really pondered on this much, and at the realization of this she felt somewhat guilty. Perhaps now she could at least try and... maybe not humble herself, because when was that going to happen? No, more like, come to grips with the fact that she didn't have to go through this alone. Who was she most thankful for, though? Was that even what she should be thinking about? She kept gravitating towards certain people, but in the end she felt herself thinking about Sorrow. She was at least thankful that even after her sister's death she had managed to find out something about herself and her family. Quote

Kintobor Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 Karie slouched her arms back, feeling relieved. She didn't think she could hold that position for much longer. Who do I care about the most? Well... my daughter, Rachelle. Karie felt somewhat guilty about the question. She didn't like having favourites, especially to the young life she and Masson produced, but she could not imagine something happening to her. Quote
Endgame Posted March 25, 2016 Author Posted March 25, 2016 Small buds were emerging from the basin of soil Glaz put the crystal in. "Am I sensing a bit of guilt, Karie? Don't - there's no need. There's no need to feel guilt. After all, I can phrase this one question a million different ways and probably get an answer that is just about everyone. Or maybe you'll get the same answers! And that's okay too. And on that note, just one more iteration, I promise, and then I'll get to the point of all this. Endgame Posted March 26, 2016 Author Posted March 26, 2016 "Now, the point of this exercise. All the answers you had to these questions, or people you considered for them - they're probably the pillars of your life. The ones who are most important to you, in some way or another. Constants. In times as chaotic as they are now - especially because, I think, all of us need stability in a world like this - they should help you push away that stress. I can totally understand your concern. Charon is, well, Charon. There's a lot about him he hides.... and as well as he means, staying in the house of a kindly old dragon who may destroy you is obviously unpleasant. But he's trying to at least be cordial. I guess the bottom line is that stress is temporary. Horrible, but temporary - and you seem to have people in your life that are permanent. So use them, or at least, their memory, to push through this. After all, you seem tough. You've gotten through worse, right? So whatever the outcome... It'll be fine." A second bell rings out. "You must've been pondering for a while, huh? Second bell means dinnertime here in Eschaton, so I hope you're hungry. Thanks for keeping me some company, by the way, while Telethia was out. I hope I helped you out... If not, here." Glaz tosses Karie a shard of what looked like shimmering glass. It pulsed softly, and seemed almost unbreakable. Empath Glass: Can be used to scan characters and see what feelings they're currently experiencing. "The mess hall is right down this way, if you wish to follow me." says Glaz, walking away through one of the arches in the Reflection Room. ---------------------------- The second bell chimes. "Second bell means..." "...Dinner time!" Charon tilts his head. "What? I'm a portal user. I can go wherever I likeas quietly as I like. And on that note, since you're pretty far from the main building... why don't I warp you guys back? Better than walking." --- The second bell chimes. The Crystrow looks up, a little bit confused. "Two judgments done. This is usually when we eat, but we can afford being a little late, if you wish to communicate with the Crystrow." Quote

Kintobor Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 (edited) A second bell rings out. "You must've been pondering for a while, huh? "The mess hall is right down this way, if you wish to follow me." says Glaz, walking away through one of the arches in the Reflection Room. Karie snatched the shard out of midair, looking it over and admiring it's allure briefly before putting it away. "Thanks." She replies, following Glaz. She found it hard to take the angel seriously when her daughter's fate lay in the hands of the "kindly old dragon" who was contemplating blowing up Eubric. "Lead the way, Glaz."
