May 5, 20168 yr Hey folks. Just created an account to jump into this discussion and shed some light on the estimated price of this set. :-) LEGO employee based in Enfield told me this set will be priced around $350-400, and is definitely Cinderella Castle as it appears in Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom and Tokyo Disneyland. Expect GB Firehouse proportions, or larger. No additional word on included minifigures. This is just my own personal speculation, but I hope the included Mickey Mouse is dressed like this.
May 5, 20168 yr Thanks for updating this thread! That's awesome news about the size of the set. I am cautiously optimistic that this is going to be an awesome Lego set!

May 5, 20168 yr that costs the earth, but also going to be worth it! the size might make portability/storage an issue, but will figure something out im sure. likely be close on to $600NZD once converted, if we even get it. the usual stockist for such exclusives have said they wont get it, so hoping s@h gets it.
May 5, 20168 yr If it does end up being around that price I hope that the build is as large as the firehouse to make the cost worth it.

May 5, 20168 yr Ah yes I forgot the fourth Civil War set and the rumored Creator Expert Christmas Train! Yah!!! Lego owns my wallet now...
May 5, 20168 yr Hope it will be $400 rather than $350. The larger the better, with sustained value for money of course (which is something I doubt, after recent D2C prices).
May 5, 20168 yr Hope they go all in, so I welcome the $400 price. If they're going to do it, do it right (at least in the most feasible way). Cautiously excited!
May 5, 20168 yr There are soooooo many $200 and higher sets the last couple of years... 3 in 2010 3 in 2011 3 in 2012 6 in 2013, not counting the minstorms and educational sets 6 in 2014 8 in 2015 8 in 2016 already with prolly some more to be revealed...

May 5, 20168 yr I'm just going to cite this page when people start complaining about the expenses. I agree, it should be spectacular, but how many kids will be able to get this thing?
May 5, 20168 yr So I found THIS is in the new LEGO Club Magazine, May-June 2016 issue: http://i.imgur.com/GkLgzhC.jpg Page 8 here: http://catalogs.lego.com/Club/us/2016/MayJun/redbrickMayJun2016/ A possible inclusion? Edited May 5, 20168 yr by Puffle Pal26

I have no idea. But, I'm stealing that idea for my Fairground. I had already planned on adding the Castle. And having the Disney CMF series as walk-arounds. But now I need to make them parade floats. That's great!
May 5, 20168 yr As far as kids being able to afford it.....I'm probably gonna get blasted for this, but I don't think kids are the target audience for this set. There, I said it, lol. I think there has been a seismic shift in the way Lego develops products in the last few years. One of the most spectacular sets we've seen in recent memory is the ghostbusters firehouse. Since most kids are too young to remember the original movies, adults were clearly the target for that piece. Granted there is a new movie coming out this year, but it is not connected to the originals. Also, I seriously doubt that most of the sales for sets such as the helicarrier, sandcrawler and 66 batman were for children. I think if there was a way to track the numbers, the vast majority of those sets are being sold to adults. Now, back to the castle. While there is no doubt that some lucky kids will get the castle for Christmas, I don't believe many parents will be buying it for the kids on a whim. There is a legion of adult Disney fans that will snatch up this castle set along with the minifigures. For many of them, this might be their introduction to the world of Lego, and think Lego stands to gain many new customers with this castle set. Lego has a strong presence in the world of kids toys. They have Nexo Knights, ninjago, friends, all of the various city sets, and many more that are really targeted at kids. I think we are starting to see Lego testing the waters to see just how far they can go with the AFOL market. I don't know where the limit is personally. Would I pay $600-700 for a Lego set? Probably, so as long as it was a cool pop culture theme and really awesomely detailed. We are living in a golden age of Lego right now. I can't wait to see what the next few years have in store as Lego continues to expand and grow.
May 5, 20168 yr I understand that kids aren't the target, but this one is more likely to appeal to kids than some other D2Cs.
May 5, 20168 yr Yes, I believe it will appeal to kids for sure, but I guess what I'm trying to say is I don't think that a high retail price is going to hurt the sales of such an iconic set. Having said that, I'm a little concerned by the pictures in the link above. I really hope they haven't downsized the castle to accommodate those parade floats for the mini figures. If they want to make a separate disney parade set, then great! If we are indeed going to get a $350-400, 4,000 piece castle, then make those 4,000 pieces count!

May 5, 20168 yr I can't wait until this release is confirmed and we see pictures. It's already at the top of my Christmas present wish list. Tokyo Disneyland was my "first" Disney theme park, so it will be great to have Cinderella's Castle (even if the colours are likely to be more similar to the Walt Disneyworld version of Cinderella's Castle). As for the price, it's not often I say this, but the more expensive the better! I want it to be a great, big, accurate and detailed castle and if that means that it costs more, then I'll just need to save a little harder.

Totally agree :-) I need to save money a little harder, not to think the set is too big for me. This set could never be too big :)
May 6, 20168 yr For that price it better be on par or above the Ghostbusters set. I want to see a nice selection of Minifigures.
