notpennysboat Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 (edited) 3 500 pieces for 350$ or 4 000 pieces for 400$, it's the same no ? Around 0.10 cents per piece which is a normal price Edited June 15, 2016 by notpennysboat Quote
CM4Sci Posted June 15, 2016 Author Posted June 15, 2016 I mean we just got the Big Ben set with 4000+ pieces for $250 so who knows. Quote
BlockLogo Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 GBHQ would be a better reference because of the licensed IP, but that one was still great value at $350 for 4600 pieces. I hope it will be more like that than like some of the other recent D2C sets. Quote
Jern92 Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 I mean we just got the Big Ben set with 4000+ pieces for $250 so who knows. I wish I lived in America. Buying it in Malaysia or NZ means I effectively pay about USD330 for the Big Ben, which means the Cinderella Castle will probably be an obscene figure of USD500 and upwards. Quote

Yeah I live in NZ too and I contacted the usual NZ stockists of Lego and they all said they won't be getting it in stock (I think it's a Lego exclusive). I was wondering, as it will be over $400 do we get charged import tax from purchasing it from the Lego website, or do they include it in the price? Quote
Brickity Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 So up until now only the mice, ducks, pluto (?) and tinkerbell are confirmed? Quote
EdWebhead Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 No Pluto AFAIK Aww, that's a bit disappointing. Hopefully he's in Series 2. Quote
legofanbubba Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 We for sure need Pluto and Goofy be it in this set or Series 2. Not picky as I plan for both haha. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Goofy has been heavily rumored to be in this :) :) Quote

Amazing Bricks Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 No he has not :) :) Says who? You apparently know all of the minifigures in this set then... Quote
Clone OPatra Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 Says who? You apparently know all of the minifigures in this set then... Do you? Other people could understandably be a bit dubious when you say a character has been 'heavily rumored' but I haven't read any rumor on any site to that effect. Quote
Robert8 Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 (edited) Can't wait to see this set In other news.... Edited June 17, 2016 by Robert8 Quote
xboxtravis7992 Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 $350-400 USD price tag... Hmm I'll definitely have to ask for this for Christmas from my parents. But I already feel guilty at the thought of asking my parents to pay such a huge price tag; especially when my dad has already made it clear he is buying me a $200 HO scale train locomotive I want... and the fact the Brick Bank is at $160, the rumored Winter Train which could be about $80 or so if similarly priced to previous D2C sets, and the two Technic flagships this year are also pricey (Porsche and Bucket Loader). And as a 22 year old I feel ridiculous asking for even just a $350 set from my parents let alone all the other ones I just listed that I want... But then again they'd kill me if I bought a $400 dollar Lego set by myself since I am supposed to be using my money to pay for college! Oh decisions, decisions... Still seeing how my family rallied around me collecting the CMF Disney line, I am willing to bet they would want me to get the castle not only for my entertainment but theirs... Gosh why is Lego making so much cool stuff right now when I don't have money to buy it all! At least with a price that high I fully expect the Disney Castle to be grade A set that will go down in Lego history as one of the best D2C builds ever. I just hope it isn't like some small building and a compilation of smaller builds and vehicles like another D2C set was early this year (*cough* Hoth *cough*)... Quote

The nice thing about the big expensive D2Cs is that you can usually expect them to be around a good while. It shouldn't be gone in six months (or less!), like some other sets. But yeah, it can be tough to afford these huge sets, even if they're totally worth it. There's a reason I own very, very few sets with MSRPs over $150 USD (and I don't even have very many of those). Quote
sunhuntin Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 travis, why dont you see if your folks will pay half of the castle? Or could you/they leave the loco until next year? Thats assuming the train isnt limited like the castle is. I'm in the same boat, really... so many amazing, expensive!, sets that I would love to get. Plus items from the other toys I collect that are coming out thick and fast. Quote

If this castle is half as good as they hype suggests, I have no doubt though my family will be in love with the set! Quote
Jarreth2 Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 No he has not :) :) Ha ha .. love your responses CM4Sci !! I feel we're not far away from getting some sort of imagery of this set .. must admit I keep checking back here everyday and when I see there's a new page I hold my breath for a second or two while it refreshes lol. xboxtravis7992 Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 So anybody want to speculate on an interior? As cool as a restaurant and the Dream Suite would be for accuracy, I doubt Lego would depict them since they are kind of a bland subject. Quote
CM4Sci Posted June 18, 2016 Author Posted June 18, 2016 Honestly, I'm worried there won't be one. Like you said, the rooms would be kind of boring... I'd hope there's one though. A giant white and grey castle would be kinda boring without stuff to do in it. Quote

A giant white and grey castle would be kinda boring without stuff to do in it. I dare say the Dream Suite might translate well. I mean it is an awesome set of rooms. I figure if Lego dedicated the Ghostbusters set to kitchens and bathrooms, then maybe the Dream Suite isn't that far out. For those who haven't seen photos of the Dream Suite and need a reference: Quote
sunhuntin Posted June 18, 2016 Posted June 18, 2016 I hope we get printed tiles for at least some of the concept art and other paintings shown in that video. Quote
legofanbubba Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 I hope hope hope for printed tile. I'm awful with stickers. Quote
