xboxtravis7992 Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Wait anyone else notice the stud shooters in the tower? Must be some fireworks play feature. Quote
Kintobor Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Looks brilliant. Doubt I'll be able to pick it up. In all honesty, the castle as a model is beautiful. All the little design techniques, particularly the castle turrets, are superb. I sincerely hope Tinker Bell will be available at some other point, as she's too cute of a figure to pass up on. Quote
Vindicare Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 That thing is amazing. I love the different theme rooms. Such a fantastic build, & the details are impressive. This will be on the non realistic wish list though. Quote
Agent 86 Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Awesome. I'm slightly disappointed by the open back and the limited number of minifigures, but it's still so very awesome! All of the vignettes from different Disney films is a cool idea and looks great. I can't wait to see some bigger photos. And to get confirmed pricing so that I know how many body parts I'll need to be able to sell to afford it. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 This looks absolutely amazing, another masterpiece by Marcos Bessa and certainly a strong contender for the set of the year award Quote
Hoth Rebel Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Still thinking about buying 2 and making it 1 castle (with opening function) or just buy one and display it as it is. What do you guys think? It's for displaying and don't care for the play features. Money isn't the problem either. Quote
Anonknee Muss Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Mum, your wallet is about to become dry... Quote
RetroInferno Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 This is beyond amazing, and all these metallic copper pieces.... This really is one of their masterpieces, and not too surprising coming from the guy who designed Ewok Village. Now time for the imminent Death Star disappoitment... Quote

Adeel Zubair Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Does anyone have any clue on the press release date? Quote
Agent 86 Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Does anyone have any clue on the press release date? It sounds like it was planned to be revealed at SDCC later in July. Whether or not that will change now that clear pictures have leaked remains to be seen. Quote

benderisgreat Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 (edited) Finally found pictures of the set, wasn't easy. The set itself has great attention to detail, great build overall, but no back. Understandable, but a bit dissapointed in that aspect. Great UCS set in general! Edited July 9, 2016 by benderisgreat Quote
0tter Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Just picked up some Disney CMFs in anticipation of this set. Hope we see a series 2, my wife will have to have a Belle and Beast to go with this set. Quote
Jarreth2 Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 So the designer is the same guy that designed the Ewok Village ?? He's short changed us on minifigures then ha ha .. Ewok Village 17 / Disney Castle 5 .. even if you count 2 Ewoks = 1 Disney fig .. still shortchanged !! Lol I'm sort of jesting here, would've been nice to see Cinderella at least ? Roll on the release date and then Disney Minifigs series 2 : ) Quote
Oafley Jones Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Still thinking about buying 2 and making it 1 castle (with opening function) or just buy one and display it as it is. What do you guys think? It's for displaying and don't care for the play features. Money isn't the problem either. I'm considering doing the same thing, but I'm guessing that 2 sets won't cover it and that you'd still need a fair bit of extra parts for the base section. The set is better than I anticipated. There's a couple of issues for me... The open back for one, which is totally understandable unless you want a 1000 euro set. The towers could be better, not a fan of stickers for texture. Might swap out the big panels for bricks as well. I have to say the little homages to various classic Disney movies is really nice idea for the interior - because let's face it the real thing isn't exactly play feature friendly. Quote
BrickBob Studpants Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Does someone recognise the piece they used for the wizard hat from Scorcerer's Apprentice? At first I thought it was the one from the CMF series 12, but after comparing the two I'm not sure anymore... And does anyone know what the room with the purple curtains and Unikitty-tail ornament pieces is supposed to represent? I'm a huuuuuge Disney fan, but I'm kinda clueless right now Quote

I'm a huuuuuge Disney fan, but I'm kinda clueless right now I'm guessing it represents the real suite contained on that level in the actual castle. Quote

Anonknee Muss Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Sleeping Beauty? No I think that's the room with the spinning wheel Quote
x105Black Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 I think it looks great. Not enough minifigures. I wish LEGO would release a castle like this for the Castle theme. I'm wondering if the shields in this set will be printed or stickered. They look cool, and I would want them if printed. Quote
K_Tiger Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 I guess my only question is how bad is BLing Tinkerbell gonna sting the wallet? Certainly not as bad as buying the whole shebang, at any rate. Quote

At first I thought it was the one from the CMF series 12, but after comparing the two I'm not sure anymore... You're overthinking it. It is the Series 12 hat. LEGO didn't need to make a new piece for it, so they didn't . Quote
