Ultron Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Alright, well I'm probably skipping Mickey & Friends in this CMF wave then. I hope they fix Mickey's torso. About Cinderella, I wonder if they'll include Prince Charming? Wouldn't seem right considering that's technically his castle, no? Not including Cinderella would be the ultimate troll move though. That'd be like not including Mickey in his clubhouse! Quote
Oky Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 I wonder... is the Tinker Bell minifigure sized? I'm hoping to get more varieties of the fairy wing part. Considering this is based on the parks and she is listed as a minifigure, yes. Quote
telaruhn Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Considering this is based on the parks and she is listed as a minifigure, yes. Cool! I only wondered because you can get a picture in front of the castle with Tink in your hand while at Magic Kingdom, so part of me thought she might be a holdable accessory, which honestly wouldn't be bad either, if she was made right. But I'd prefer her appearance be as a minifigure like the rest of them. Quote
CM4Sci Posted April 18, 2016 Author Posted April 18, 2016 As for scale, think of this - the Windows are smaller than that should be for Minifigures. It's not HUGE. Quote
Falconfan1414 Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Do u know the scale of it? Like is it bigger or smaller than the Simpsons house peice wise Quote
DarthPotato Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 I'm guessing Goofy won't be in the set since I still think they're saving him for Disney Series 2. However, variations on the current figures is nice and Tinkerbell is great as well. Licensed D2C sets have been pretty large so far this year (Ghostbusters HQ, Batcave) so I'm curious to see how big this will be. Quote
CM4Sci Posted April 18, 2016 Author Posted April 18, 2016 Do you know if the Tinkerbell is a microfig? Minifigure probably. Quote
Borex Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Minifigure probably. Thanks. Would have liked a microfig. But i think the majority will like a minifig better Quote
TheBrickPal Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 (edited) I just thought about something interesting. Would people prefer a... -Cheaper ($150-$250) facade of a castle OR -More expensive ($250-$350) full castle? Because I'm gonna take a guess and say it'll be one of those two options. Whether either could be very impressive is a different story. Additionally, they could make a more expensive facade and pack a lot more detail into both the exterior and the interior, since they'll have less to worry about by not adding a back. It could also give us additional models like parade floats and whatnot. Edited April 18, 2016 by Puffle Pal26 Quote
Falconfan1414 Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 I would not mind a more expensive castle. Mainly so we could get a lot more new minifigures Quote
Robert8 Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 It a shame this is isn't Cinderella's castle with Cinderella's characters I expected this to be line of 2DC Disney castles including Sleeping Beauty Claste, Beauty and the Beast Castle, Maleficent's Forbidden Mountain Fortress, Atlantica Castle, Agrabah Castle, ... It could also give us additional models like parade floats and whatnot. I hope they do both. They could do a full castle and still get good interior details. Though I'm not sure if that may make the castle too expensive or perhaps too small? I am thinking of what they did with the Ghostbusters HQ. I am just not a fan of facades that I see from Lego, mainly in the City line. I think a facade would destroy the look of this castle. It really calls out for a fully built castle. If they have to cut out the interior to get the fully built castle, that is still better than a facade. Quote
deskp Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 i think having just the front will work out great for this set. The castle is only iconic from the front anyways. Don't compare it to the city sets. more like bag end and orthanc. Quote
TCO Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 (edited) Hi guys signed up to discuss this. As a huge fan of Disney and Disneyworld in particular and Lego this is a dream set for me - second only to a Splash Mountain set. You have to include Goofy and Pluto as figures and ideally a bronze Walt with a short legged Mickey partners statue but that's probably asking a bit too much. The castle isn't as distinctive from the back so would be surprised if it isn't a facade. I only recently discussed the possibility of this on another forum (neogaf) in a Lego thread and to see it may happen is amazing but cautious that it could end up a huge disappointment if done wrong. Blondie-Wan Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Hi, TCO. Welcome aboard! I expected this to be line of 2DC Disney castles including Sleeping Beauty Claste, Beauty and the Beast Castle, Maleficent's Forbidden Mountain Fortress, Atlantica Castle, Agrabah Castle, ... At the risk of wandering from the subject of this particular set, if this is the first in a series of Disney D2Cs, my big hope for the line would be a Disneyland / Walt Disney World Railroad set. I'm sure a lot of people would love that, myself included. Quote
Supa Necta Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Hi Fellow gaffer! I'm new here too. I wonder if the set will include the bridge and wishing well? Quote

I'd love to see a Main Street set with the railroad. Edit: Welcome to the 2 new members! Edited April 18, 2016 by Tech Artist Quote

I'd love to see a Main Street set with the railroad. I mean a set of one or more of the actual trains, runnable on regular LEGO railroad track (or possibly the narrow gauge track, given that the real Disney park railroads are 3 ft narrow gauge lines), possibly accompanied by a station. gedren_y Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 I think the set version of Mickey could have him in his tuxedo, possibly with a top hat. Minnie's description seems like her outfit from the Thanksgiving Day parade, which made me think of it. The Walt and Mickey statue could be a single exclusive mold, if it gets included. Train? Come on, the Monorail! If it were to happen, which is exceedingly unlikely. A future Disney D2C set could be Downtown Disney, like that town set from a few years ago. All speculation at this point. TCO Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Whilst we are on it - Haunted Mansion or Tower of Terror! I missed out on the brilliant Lego Mansion and long for something similar. Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Oh, yeah, definitely the monorail, too. That would be awesome. Quote
Ultron Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 I can't really see this set being anything other than a facade unless it's massively underscaled. How would they even hinge-open a presumably circular castle that'll be cone shaped? Quote

I like that idea, and the monorail as well. If we could have small attachments and rollecoasters, Like those Star Tours etc. That one could combine into one making the park as a whole.
