miguev Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Absolutely love it! Can't wait for instructions Is it at all feasible to use only 1 SBrick, maybe at the cost of less power for drive? Great video too, I particularly enjoyed the outside and inside views of both cars driving at the same time! Quote
Didumos69 Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Your standards remain high. Very impressive! Quote
nerdsforprez Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 A joy to look at, learn about, and, I am sure, to play with. It really is quite a feat when your fans can sit and enjoy your models, coffee in hand, like we are reading s good novel or something. Let the stories continue, great job. Quote
Zerobricks Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 (edited) Like others said, a very clean and smooth build. Its also nice to see a fast supercar with a simple and efficient driveline. Too bad you ran out of room for a fake angine and a gearbox, but I guess you cant fit it all. Another well done model! Edited March 4, 2016 by Zblj Quote
Madoca 1977 Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 Thank you for your kind words! The curved line on the door just under the mirror is beautiful. Actually the door design was the beginning of the project. I came up with an idea of connecting a small panel to long one using #3 connector. Then it looked like the supercar door! The lines are great, and the use of the panels in many orientations turned our great. To make the model sturdy, I tried to set at least two connection points per single body panel. It was difficult because most of the panels should have been connected at different angle each other. In front section I used Rubber Axle Connectors which make it possible to adjust connection angles by twisting. Quote
Jonfensu Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 I don't know what's the best thing of this model: 1. The bodywork and amazing use of panels and connectors 2. The speed achieved with PF elements 3. The possibility to build our own copy thanks to the instructions Impressive as always, Madoca Quote
DFYFZX Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 (edited) To the top of my build list! This and pvd's One:1 are the two best supercar MOCs in my book. Any chance of a "B" model with no PF that has a gearbox and engine? I like my LEGOS more as mechanical exercises than RC toys... Edited March 4, 2016 by DFYFZX Quote
motomatt Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 Please don't make instructions... because than I will be forced to get more pieces and build it :-) Quote
Kumbbl Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 To the top of my build list! This and pvd's One:1 are the two best supercar MOCs in my book Agreed. With one addition: These two plus N. Kuipers Predator. The latter one is easily on par concerning innovation, paneling , features. IMHO a must build for technic and car lovers. Quote
tibivi Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 wow, those lines on the side are just gorgeous. And like others said, it has an nice speed for such a large moc. great job done! Quote
KevinMoo Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 Actually the door design was the beginning of the project. I came up with an idea of connecting a small panel to long one using #3 connector. Then it looked like the supercar door! Really nice shape! I made a simple replica: Quote
DrJB Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 (edited) ... Too bad you ran out of room for a fake angine and a gearbox, but I guess you cant fit it all. Agree with all above about the nicely done MOC (I still have the SUV assembled and displayed). Now, I know many on here like the realism of fake engines, but in a distant future, when all automakers would have switched to electrical power, these parts would look prehistoric ... Pvdb Posted March 5, 2016 Posted March 5, 2016 That is a really great looking front end Madoca 1977 and the performance also looks great. May I ask you to explain (since I have not really got into Sbrick yet) why you need two of them on this model. Also does the SBrick allow you to have some proportional control on the PF Servo Motor?? Quote
brunojj1 Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 I´m working with the same kind of power distribution such as 2 batteries and 2 IR receivers or Sbricks for a simple reason – you get more total power for motors. The more motors you are using, the less power is supplied to each of them simultaniously. It seems to me that Sbrick has a higher current limit and provides more energy to multiple devices than IR receivers, even V2. Another big advantage is the infinitely variable speed regulation and proportional control of the servo. I think in Madoca´s car one Sbrick feeds 2 L motors and the other one also 2 L motors + servo. In the video the car doesn´t seem to slow down at all while steering (servo activated). The whole car is a big achievement regarding the low weight and very clever drivetrain resulting in such high speed! Quote
Mestari Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Absolutely stunning! You really know how to impress :) Do you think it will be possible to switch Sbricks to Lego IR Receivers or is there no place in the model for that? I don't have any Sbricks and don't intend to buy in near future and I really want to build this car. Quote
ifilin Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Do you think it will be possible to switch Sbricks to Lego IR Receivers or is there no place in the model for that? I think, it is possible to use 2 x IR V2, one for 4 L-motors (2 per chanel) and one for Servo Motor, because 2 L-motors per chanel in 1 IR V2 are used in Crawler 9398. The same config Madoca recommended in his Baja Truck - see https://lh5.googleus...h721-no/003.JPG. Quote
mandylion7 Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Now this is what I call engineering at it's best! What a car and what a performance! Wow to everything here! Quote
deehtha Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 You have to use 2 receivers and 2 battery boxes because 4 l motors will trip the protection in a single battery box Quote
Madoca 1977 Posted March 7, 2016 Author Posted March 7, 2016 Making instructions is now in progress! I'm making instructions of white version including bigger adjustable spoiler. For those who like lower spoiler, I'll add few pictures of it. (Actually I like lower version which looks like Mclaren 650s) Quote
legolijntje Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Very nice! Are you going to add a red parts list to Rebrickable too? I don't mind the instructions being white, but my collection of red parts is much bigger, so a red partslist on Rebrickable would be appreciated Quote
Balrog Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 This is a very fantastic car. In fact, one of the best I've seen in a while. I'll definately build it! Thanks in advance for all the work! Quote
Madoca 1977 Posted March 7, 2016 Author Posted March 7, 2016 I'll add instructions with parts list to Rebrickable. I built body only using available parts in white and red. If you want to build it in red, you just need to exchange all white parts for red. Of course it is possible to build whole car in black. But a dark car called Icarus sounds to me sinister. Quote
DrJB Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Can't wait as well. I'll try doing an LDD as soon as instructions are available ... as long as there are no 'illegal' connections (we all know how finicky LDD can be) Quote
