Citizens of Eslandola, Corrington, and Oleon!

Gather round!

(The rest of you can sneak in, if you like.)

The Eslandian Crown has a deal for YOU!

We are auctioning off two captured vessels:

> The Clear Conscience (Class 1A)

Starting at 15 DB.

> Holder’s Secret (Class 2A)

Starting at 25 DB.

Auction ends March 12th, 12:00 noon, my time zone.

Please note that you will have to MOC your rendition of these vessels before you can use them. If you do not do so by the 25th of the month, the ship will go to the next highest bidder.

You will not have to pay any further licensing fees.

To bid, post below!

Make sure you have the DBs available!

Hmm, interesting. I shall be following this closely. However, I wonder what the reasoning behind the MOC'ing deadline is?...

Even there is a licence, the ship still needs to be MOC'ed :)

26 Doubloons for Holder's Secret from the WGO.

Psst, you only need to bid 25. That's the starting bid - the minimum you put in. You only have to beat it if someone has already met the starting bid.

That doesn't matter. Román Esteban Fontonajo bids 27 DBs anyways.

I have to give the next person on the list a chance to MOC it within the month if the first person falls through.

Sir, could you advise your timezone in GMT please? :)

GMT -3.

But the vessel isn't going to disappear, just because it isn't moc'ed. It just isn't active, before it has been moc'ed, and can be considered under repair or outfitting until such a time. That is why I ask.

The game sets no deadline. You do. So why? :P

Oh, I see. Because I think it's silly for someone to buy a ship and just dry dock it. If you're going to snatch it away from the next highest bidder, you need to use it! pirate_laugh2.gif

The sooner a captured ship is MOCed, the sooner the ship can participate in the MRCA and be captured again.

I bid...oh wait, Sea Rats weren't invited to the auction. pir_laugh2.gif

Since when do Sea Rats buy things anyway? I thought your mentality was that any ship afloat was ripe for the pluckin'.

So you mean I can't just buy all the licenses and drydock them all so that Ska doesn't have as much work on the MRCA next month? pirate_laugh_new.gif I suppose this does keep those with large fortunes from buying everything up while those with little to spend have a better chance to not be outbid.

That's the idea.

Well, it seems kind of silly to capture a pirate ship and then auction it off to the pirates. pir_laugh2.gifpirate_laugh_new.gif

It's called a ransom, Kai. Makes perfect sense :)

Indeed. Makes sense to me. But I suppose keeping it out of their hands means they can't turn right around and attack you with it...

Right. Well, actually, I hadn't meant to exclude Sea Rats, just didn't think they should go on the same line with everyone else and forgot to go back and add another line later. So Sea Rats, you can actually bid, if you feel so inclined.

If it were not for the moc'ing deadline, I would too be interested in bidding...

(As Mike said: Those with large fortunes pirate_wink.gif )

Now, come on people - make this auction happen - this is far too boring!

(Kai, maybe next time, you should try a "dutch auction"? Look it up, they are a lot of fun!)

I did look it up... that looks like fun indeed! The Secretary of State will have to keep that in mind!

I expect things to pick up around here on Friday or so though... I at least am holding my bids back until then (what's the point of running the price up in the meantime?).

For the record, I will stop bidding one minute before I close the topic; otherwise I have a rather unfair advantage.

Oh, didn't know you were bidding as well.

So we have about 3 days 23 hrs and 15 mins from now to intercept you :D
