Excuse me if this has already been talked about, but I searched and didnt find any thing but I got the latest Lego Mag the other day and found a few surprising things.

1) A Big (but Kind of Dark and shadowy) Picture Of the new SB Sandy fig With the title " Guess who's coming in January 2008" The Sandy Head Does look new, as well as the helmet. This also tells us the new SB sets are coming in the First half of '08, rather than a Summer release.

2)In the "sets featured in this issue" section there is a pic of a new set which i dont recall seeing here before. Its 7738 Coast Guard Helicopter and Life Raft. It was a helicopter and some life raft thing with orange JSF wings. It also had the Shark piece In Bley. *wub*

I have just received the new catalog this afternoon.

Here is some more information on this set according to the box and catalog:

Set Number: 7738

Pieces: 445 Pieces

Age Range: 5-12

Minifigures: 3 Minifigures

Availability: December or Holiday Season (as there is a claim: "Look for these sets at a store near you!")

It is under the CITY lineup of products, and by the looks of it, this set may be another Toys R Us exclusive, as there is some sort of text similar to the ones on boxes which are exclusive sets.

I will get a picture up as soon as possible!

Unfortunately, my camera's battery is too low to take any pictures. I am charging it right now and should be done in an hour or two...look back then. Hang in there!

Beautiful! *wub* That is very high on my want list and that raft is perfect. The shark is a cool touch too! :-P I can't wait for better pictures.

I am pretty sure I'm not gonna get that because that thing is hideous!

I honestly believe this was purposely placed here by Lego, even though it wasnt anywhere else in the Magazine (It was the "sets featured in this issue section). Do you think they would put it there accidentally? Of course not. BTW, I wonder when it will be realeased. 8-|

(P.S.- Anyone else notice the back piece is the same piece as on the new jumbo planes? TLG is using those a lot in '08. This, Cargo plane, Po-po sea plane...)

7738 -- CITY Coast Guard Helicopter and Life Raft

Warning: The picture is quite big right now (about 3 MB in size.) This is because I had to take the higheset resolution pictures possible since the picture in the catalog was so small.

Feel free to discuss.

Awesome! Thank you very much, Mr. Lego Bildur! I love this new set, it will be the only one of the new city line I shall purchase. That new windshield piece is great, Lego has never made a very proper rounded helicopter windshield in the past.*wub*

Is this a photograph here? It seems pretty blurry, is that because the picture is so very minuscule to scan or the camera did not capture the image well? I'm hoping I will receive this LEGO magazine in the next day or so and make a higher quality scan for you guys, if the later case is true. *y*

I think the raft looks something like the splashdown pod the astronaunts used in the sixties.

Anyone agree?

Yep, exactly, although it fits pretty good for

a modern high seas lifeboat I guess.... :-)

Thanks for the pic! :'-)

I love this set, it is a must-buy for me even if it is on shopathome! i can't get enough sharks, and that little life raft is great! *wub* It also means I'll be able to dismantle the rescue helicopter from the hospital line. That rounded windsheild is excellent, and even if that is that <insert that tiresome argument> plane tail I must say it fits in rather well *y*
