rodiziorobs Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Wow, that's gorgeous! Those minarets are spectacular, well, it all is! Quote
Andy D Posted March 9, 2016 Posted March 9, 2016 This is outstanding! It is incredible to see things in LEGO that I have seen in person. Instantly recognizable. Andy D Quote
henrysunset Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 This a wonderful model; I especially love the roof detailing which uses the dish part used beneath a 1x6 arch. I created a new collection of Islamic LEGO Architecture, and added this to that collection! https://www.pinterest.com/tomalphin/lego-architecture-islamic/ Quote
fulk Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Congratulations, great model ! Wonderful idea about columns realization Quote
Forresto Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 It's so beautifully done! I love Islamic architecture and you've translated it all into Lego superbly. Quote
Sarles Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 (edited) That is a spectacular build. I'm not sure about having so many domes on the courtyard area, but I blame ignorance of how some of these more elaborate mosques are built. The towers are spectacular looking and I like how overbuilt the main dome area is. I think it looks a lot like Hagia Sophia. Edited April 20, 2016 by Sarles Quote
filipI Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 As I love to build important architectural monuments of the whole world, I very much want to build the Blue Mosque and the Aya Sofya and I like these models! I visited both monuments in 2013 and I was quite impressed by the domes. Could I get the building plans to be sure I can also copy the inside? If you look very well, you can find plans for a lot of MOC's, bur not for these, and that's a shame because they are so important to art history! Quote
Tariq j Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 That's amazing! Very well translated into Lego Quote
DrJB Posted May 3, 2017 Posted May 3, 2017 Amazing renditions of the two monuments. Kudos. Are LDD files available? .. if not, has anyone tried to reverse-engineer these marvels? Quote
