Siegfried Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Do you remember what your very first Lego set was? Good idea for a topic... that's why we already have one! I merged yours with the old. Quote
commanderbly42 Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 (edited) Mine was 7130 Snowspeeder. Which also has the most missing parts in my collection. EDIT: Well, it's first SW set anyway. I can't remember my first, it was probably something Duplo. Edited July 23, 2008 by commanderbly42 Quote
CP5670 Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 This was mine, which I got when I was 1: Unfortunately, I lost most of the printed parts many years ago. (either that or the printing wore off over time) Quote
rriggs Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Great thread! It was this for me: Got it in 1980-ish when I was 5 or 6 and I've still got it! Can't remember if it was birthday or Xmas or whatever but I remember opening it and building it. Great days! Cheers Rog Quote
Joey Lock Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Mine was the Freestyle 4259 Value Bucket XL Quote
WhiteFang Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 Just now, I went to speak with my father and asked him "Father, what is the first LEGO set you had bought for me?" My father looked at me and said "Actually, that LEGO set was bought for myself. I built it, and showed it to you. I believed that is the first LEGO set ever." I showed a very pleased look and happy to know that the first set he had ever bought for me, was my all time top 3 favourite set. I thank him personally for bringing LEGO into my life, when I was a child. My first LEGO set is none other, the 6378 Shell Station, which was released in 1986, classifed as Classic Town. Quote
Zzz Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 that was my first one. I am pretty sure about it. My sister had some Fabuland earlier and I got the Fabuland Postman Boris Bulldog also quite early, but I really think this was my very first one. I still have the manual somewhere, and I can recollect the feeling of playing with it, the sound the pieces made, the boxy ambulance made with the loose stretcher and girl inside, the tires made... like it was yesterday. No joke. Quote
Erdbeereis Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 (edited) Not sure about my first ever.. But I know the first one I got after my long dark ages was this one. Creator Highway Haulers. Edited July 23, 2008 by Erdbeereis1 Quote
NewRight Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 I have checked BrickSet many times. My first set came with two baseblates and freestyle bricks. I couldn't seem to find it on brickset though. Quote

tin7_creations Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 (edited) my first set was: Set#: 1879 - Basic Building Set, 5+ http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?S=1879-1 Released in 1992, with 498 bricks. Edited August 7, 2008 by tin7 Quote
The Cobra Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 I thnk I had some "first sets" - When I was 3 years old, I've been presented with a couple of Minitalia boxes (one of them is n°14, as you can see) That was Christmas 1976.The content, along with some other Lego I inherited from a cousin, ended up in a cylindrical cardboard Dixan box to be used in my youngest days of MOCing (8 to 11 years old, I'd say) - With the exception of a fire car promo set with Ovomaltina, my first Town set was 379 Bus Station. Bought in 1982 summer holidays but not allowed to open it until we got home, in order not to lose some pieces. - My first Space set was 6822 Shuttle Craft, bought on new year's eve in 1981 or 1982. - My first Castle set was 6021 Jousting knights. Bought in/for my Saint's day in 1984. - Leaving a couple of Choppers and some used stuff aside, my first new Lego set after my (and Lego's) dark days was 7990 Cement mixer. Quote

Steel Dragon Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 (edited) :EDIT: I'm very sorry about the extra topic, I didn't realize this thread existed! Sorry again, and thanks for moving this! Speed Trackers! I do remember playing with this set A LOT, even though I was little when I had it. I'm considering rebuilding it for nostalgia's sake... Edited January 2, 2010 by Steel Dragon Quote
KurttKrueger Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 This was mine. Had it as a kid and loved it! Auto Workshop Quote
Siegfried Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Topic is self-explanatory. Post pics, links to Peeron pages, or anecdotes if you can! We already had a topic like this so I've merged them! 722... ...and then 733... I really should try to build some of the models. I recall the helicopter in 733 was pretty cool. *wub* Carry on! Quote
Peppermint_M Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 That is still knocking around the house. I can always remember it being there and as the oldest it was certainly mine, and I was born in 88, a year before they stopped producing it... That was more than likely the very first Lego Product I ever had. Quote
jonwil Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 I dont remember my first set but it was likely Duplo. My first post-dark-ages set was the 8448 Super Street Sensation (the wheels on that thing are GREAT for large-size MOCs of cars with alloy or fancy wheels) Quote
dr_spock Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 I don't remember the exact first Lego set. Parents didn't take pictures. I remember having a red tow truck like this one way way back. Quote
RileyC Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 I can remember having really basic sets with eyes and mouth pieces included. I got them from family friends every time the visited us. Quote
