Daylight come and I wanna go home! default_caroler.gifdefault_caroler.gifdefault_caroler.gif

Today I present to you:

Captain Tallyman and his "Banana Boat". :pir-grin:

25529219111_1d8546b955_c.jpg

Well, the Banana Boat may not be the most beautiful ship that has ever sailed the fourteen seas

and her figurehead (a banana :pir-laugh: ) is often mocked at in harbour inns -

but Captain Tallyman simply laughs along.

He knows that his yellow freight will be paid for with golden coins - and any observer will quickly notice that Tallyman is able to buy himself a quite impressive lantern!

But he keeps a low profile and enjoys his life as the fastest banana trader of Eslandola.

Guided by his able and cunning first mate Mr. Monkey, the "Banana Boat" is known in most ports. monkey.gif

C&C welcome!

"Hide the deadly black tarantula." Good one.

Yepp.

Day-o!

(... and of course I have had this song in my head since I've posted this)

A monkey, a parrot and an impressive impressive impressive lantern!!What not to love!! Also gj on the sail!

Thanks - yes, it is an old-fashioned-custom-sail pirate_satisfied.gif

Very nice little ship, Captain B, the banana figure-head is hilarious, and that lantern in the back is very impressive indeed! pirate_satisfied.gif I do think a bit of tiling would improve the build, and the sail would look much better (though I already do really like that wheel on it! pirate_wink.gif) if you could get it to stick out a bit more. It's great to see more Eslandolan and ETWC ships though! :thumbup:pirate_classic.gif

Yepp, this brave effort doubles the number of ships of the ETWC pirate_laugh_new.gif

And this time, it is really a trading ship.

Ahhh! Now I have that song in my head! Great little boat.

Let us all sing along: Day-O - Day-O... pir_laugh2.gif

 Nice ship!

I fear that there is no good picture that is showing the actual freight (the bananas).

You can (probably) see the box and the treasure chest on deck, filled with bananas. There are more in the hold (which you cannot see).

Nice banana boat. The sail could probably use a couple of lines to secure it from flapping in the wind.

"Flapping in the wind"? Isn't that a song by Elton John? pir_laugh2.gif

Lovely little freighter, captain.

Those old (?) hulls have a nice shape, but do make the vessel seem like she is riding very high in the water, especially when the ship is this short.

I really like that lantern, and the sail is nice too - is it a print, and on what material? pirate_blush.gif

As to your rigging, I first thought her a solely square rigged vessel, but then I noticed the gaff behind the mast and the sail on the bowsprit (which name currently evades me). While I would suggest you raise the gaff and make it longer, while raising its angle a bit too (20 degrees, more or less). Right now, what would nominally be her mainsail (if we assume she is a sloop or cutter), is a mere scrap of a hankerchief. pirate_tong.gif

Lastly, there is no way not to love the figurehead! pirate_laugh_new.gif

Well done!

The stern view is lovely, very atmospheric. A small boat but a nice wide hull for the 'six foot, seven foot, eight foot bunch'.

I notice that the crew are wisely wearing helmets to protect against those inevitable monkey banana-throwing incidents. Hopefully Capt. Tallyman's wig is well padded for same.

As to rigging: I'd say it's badly rigged pirate_laugh2.gif

I'll have to think about what type of ship that may be...

I'll end up the sloop John B. , as usual pir_laugh2.gif

Spot on. This is exactly why they are wearing those old-fashioned morions.

Captain Tallyman is a close friend of the first mate who does not throw bananas at his boss pirate_laugh2.gif

Interesting and funky little vessel. I really like the second pic; the big sail hanging limp reminds me of illustrations of some of the really old sailing ships. The banana/monkey theme is expected of course, and results in a nicely humorous little build. The lantern is neat, but I hope it's secured well on that long rod. Keep it up.

The second pic is good, I agree.

And the ship IS an old sailing ship pirate_laugh2.gif

How come the banana/monkey theme was expected? Was that on BrickiLeaks? pirate_laugh_new.gif

Banana Boat... that makes me think of Bud Spencer. I would bet the first idea you had was the figurehead! Nice job. And that lantern is genius. Funny to see a Mitgardian flag. Who knows, if you sail to far, the bananas will be rotten and you arrive at Historican shores.

So the banana boat supplies the banana shop,? Nice little system you've got going there and a very impressive lantern, clearly a profitable system too! :-)
