Great work buddy  .

Please build the 8880 first

Thank you Edwin.

It seems the 8880 is gaining a few late votes.

I already submitted my vote (8880), but I have enough patience to wait for it if you choose the Arocs :). I have never built 8880 myself, but am really considering getting it. I've read such good things about it.

It's starting to look like the 8880 might just be my next build.

Well I didn't vote and i'd like you to build the AROCS (42043)

Thank you but the 8880 has been getting some late votes.

build 8880, that Supercar is CULT :)

So I keep being told :classic:

My vote is for 8258 :classic:

Thank you but the 8880...

As I have to end this sometime I'll count any requests recieved until 9pm(UK) Sunday.

My vote 8880

As I never had the opportunity to buy the model, and your building thread's are always great to follow as I think that you give it more thought and savoring the intended building enjoyment any set deserves.

Thanks Mr Grum

The VW mini bus turned out great, it was fun watching. It looks like you are still getting votes fo your next project. Good luck deciding, it will be interesting no matter what you choose, especially if you choose the 8258 (I already voted, no sense stuffing e ballot box).

Have fun with your next build!

Thank you all for your very kind comments. Thank you also for your requests for my next build which looks likely to be the 8880. With this next build in mind, a slight problem has occurred that'll delay me starting said build.

It's just been discovered that during my recent operation my leg was broken. This has left me with my leg splinted, needing to be kept straight and me confined to bed for at the next 6-8 weeks.

Before now I've not tried building while being in bed but will certainly give it a go. All being well, I'll get on OK and will be building again soon. If not I'll have wait for serveral weeks.

I appreciate your patience.

Clearly, God/fate/karma/the statistical distribution of energy in the observable universe* needed a few more weeks to agonise over the choice of which model it wants you to build next!

Here's hoping for a brick-filled recovery

As a wise man once said... "Oh crap!"

Seriously, Let me add my best wishes to you for a speedy recovery as well. I hope you can find a way to build in bed, or at least find some good LEGO distractions. I hope you know that you have all our hopes and prayers. Get better soon friend.

A very late vote for 8880... I hope you are not stuck in bed for too long, but a few bricks will hopefully help the time pass. The VW's a lovely set, it has the nicest details; like the designer really loved designing it. Thanks for reminding us, next time I put mine together I'll take more time over it :classic:

Sorry I dont post much here Grum, but I follow your builds closely. I wish you best of luck and stay as you are!

Speedy recovery, Clive. I'm not sure I would attempt building in bed, but with 6 weeks in one place you probably need a distraction.

Thank you all so much for your good will comments, PMs and emails. Your kindness means a very great deal to both Gilly and myself.

I'm reminded of what I said within days of joining the Eurobricks community: This is, without doubt, the friendliest place on the whole 'net.

Over the next few days I'm going to give building in bed a try and hopefully I'll get on OK. I'll just have to be careful where any runaway pieces end up

Keep the build requests coming and I'll have count up once my leg's sorted out.

Sometime this week I'll be getting a friends video footage (all 18GB of it!) from his 3 months in Guyana to edit. This usually takes 5-6 weeks so I may be better getting it done & out of the way so when I do start getting up and resume building I'll have no distractions.

Once again, thank you all for your kind words & wishes.

I wish you a speedy recovery as well.

Watching the 8880 being built again will be a special experience for me. I got this set as a birthday gift from my fellow students just after my dark age. Obviously I built it as quickly as I could and then tore it apart to use the bricks for my own MOC's :)

I am sure I will thoroughly enjoy your journey of the 8880.

But get well first, don't let our enthousiasm for your builds get in the way with that!

Grum, bad news. I like to read all your progresses and hope you recover soon.

My excuses to everybody but I don't like the 8880 and would recomment the Arocs 42043 or the crane truck 8258. I have got the 8880 when I got out of my dark ages because everybody said that that a great set was but I only use some parts.

Maybe it is because I am a studless builder?

Anyway good luck.

Ach, poor Grum, here's wishing a speedy recovery, I'm sure (positive) that the 8880 will be well worth the wait. :classic:

The 8880 is proving to be a very popular choice. The enthusiasm of those wanting to see it built makes the anticipation of building it all the greater.

I don't think you need to apologise for not liking the 8880. I would think a good many people probably share you view. We like what we like. It'd be a very boring world indeed if we all liked the same things.

The 8258 is indeed a great set. It's a special set to me as it was the first Technic set I ever built and one I very much look forward to building again one day.

The 42043 looks a great set & from what I've watched on Youtube, one I'll enjoy building. Not too sure how much enjoyment fitting all those hoses will be though
