Since November of last year I have gotten back into Lego. After many years away, I had received a new motorized 9398 4X4 crawler and fell in love with Lego again.

There is something so simple and calming about sitting there trying out new designs, functions and models. I very quickly became interested in building

model Lego cars because they seemed to replicate the real thing in so many ways. Now my two boys absolutely love Lego and have been a fan of playing

with my cars around the house. (Of course occasionally crashing them into the wall :look: )

Car dimensions: 47 long x 27 wide x 18 high

I may not spend a lot of time building my creations, but after a few days I just can't wait to tear down my last one and start fresh with a new one.

That being said, this forum has taught me to have patience to take the time to create the right design. And have also learnt that quite often

extra power functions compromise the beauty of the design. So I went a bit back to the basics with this RC and only have rear wheel drive and steering.

That will always allow for more room to create a better design. :sweet:

Anyway, enough about me, here is a Lamborghini Murcielago that took me 3 weeks to make. To all of the purest's out there, this is not a perfect replica

by any means. It has Gull-wing door, which Lamborghini's do not have. But I can assure you, this is a 100% Lego MOC. (Even the blue rubber band that

hold the doors open is from Lego)

Looks pretty good! Can you add a video of it driving? What power Functions motors did you use?

There are 2 l-motors and 1 servo motor. That's it!

And I have some driving of this MOC in the video.

Cool car but why the gullwing doors? It's sort of missing the signature lambo doors.

I built it with the gull wing doors because I enjoyed the function of that style of door from my last car and since my seats are so wide the gullwing style allows more room for the seats. Also, I find proper lambo doors really difficult to design. That being said, I am already in the works of creating lambo style doors for the car right now. Try and see how I can make it so its aesthetically pleasing and functional. Lastly, the small black panel beside the rear view mirrors are sitting further back than intended and having the door swing up lambo style would interfere with that piece. Back to the drawing board I guess

SO I finally figured out some Lambo doors to complete the build :thumbup:Check out the new photos below:111.jpg1.jpg11.jpg

Wow. When I bought a 2560x1080px computer screen, I thought I would never again see a thread at EB with too big photos. I was so wrong.

Welcom back from the dark ages

The images you have posted are way too big. Please bear in mind that the maximum width of embedded images is 1024 pixels. Make sure to read the site guidelines.

You can either resize them or use an image hosting service like Flickr or Bricksafe, where you can link to a scaled down version.

Thanks

Hi Jim, my apologies. I thought the file size was only too big if it were uploaded to this site, not when it is hosted on another site.

I am not very familiar with forums :look:

I will upload size reduced photos from now on with a link to my brick shelf for HQ.

No worries. I'm here to help

I can recommend using Bricksafe or Flickr. Both hosting sites let you upload the big image and link to a smaller version. I do this all the time when writing reviews, embedding the smaller version and linking to the bigger one. Let me know if you need assistance.

Nice work on the MOC by the way

Did you use the chassis of the 42039 for your model?

No, the chassis of the 42039 was too wide, this frame utilized the same style of suspension but was created from scratch.

I have dual springs at the rear, narrower width of both front and rear suspension, and created a new frame to take the

2 L-motors and servo flush with the bottom of the framework.

If you would like to put this car in the hall of fame I would be very happy to lend a cool photo or two for the record :blush:
