Recently, some spammers are hitting Hello! My name is... forum, but not making a topics, they posted on other member topics. Like this one.

That's true for us regular members, but deep within Eurobricks, there is a special level just for MODs who have gone insane from too many years of dealing with Spam. Although that doesn't explain why the pirates forum always needs new staff. Maybe there's a Kraken eating them.

I remember seeing identical spam posts in EVERY SINGLE FORUM AT ONCE a while back... it got dealt with very quickly IIRC. Maybe I should join the spam-reporting ranks...

What if there was a "Spam Reporter" rank if you report more than a certain amount of spam, like if you've reported 20 spam posts or more?

And to control the spam, there could be a time limit between posts. Nothing like a 24 hour wait, but it could be a decreasing trend. Like wait 1/2 hour to make your second post, 20 minutes for 3rd, etc. That's how Reddit controls spam.

Get some occasional sunlight. Were almost all lacking vitamin D. Very best source of vitamin D is sunlight. Oh I have a wonderful idea..get outside and walk or run in sunlight! Do something active and kill 2 birds with one healthy. Healthy amounts of sun have multiple good things about your health and psychological well-being.

I don't want to poke my nose where IT doesn't belong, and you're doing a great job MODs (in my whole EB carreer, I've seen but 1 spam topic!), but how about a report button for the mobile version of the site? I almost always check using my phone (only using pc for posting images), but there's no report button there, and I'm not going to start up a pc to report something...

I know for certain that the report button is there on iPad, I will have to check for iPhone.

If you scroll to the bottom of the page, you can select the Full Version. The Report Button is in the Full Version. I too am browsing EB regularly throughout the day on my phone. The Full Version has (nearly?) all the same features as the desktop version. If you'd like the Mobile Version back, there is a link on the bottom left of the Full Version page.

I haven't noticed as much spam lately (or it could be that I'm not up as late and am missing the spam waves). In any case, thank you to the Mods & Admin for obliterating the spam threads, as well as keeping the forum running smoothly! This is definitely one of the most civil forums I have seen.

I must say, this one is great.

Hi, I was wondering if perhaps it might help in the ever-present war on spam, if the Report button on a profile actually locked that person's account from posting further until a MOD reviewed the situation, or perhaps, this lock could occur after being reported for multiple separate topics. I cannot speak to how often the report button is used erroneously, but that seems like something like this might help.

Then again, this might be too close to vigilante justice for the Mods' preferences. Just my two cents.

I think that perhaps those with the rank of Knight and above cold report on a spam topic, which after 3 seperate reports could be locked... I think there are just too many ways for the system to accidentally lock non spamming members out if a post of theirs was reported for other reasons other than spam. Good idea though.
