A few years ago, when I had recently came out of my dark ages, I saw this very beautiful creation by Flickr user Paul Trach / Disco86. I wanted to build something similar, but to this day I'm not sure how to make some of the details, so I decided to aim lower. I already had the official Council of Elrond 79006 and I wanted to incorporate the arches and basically build a larger area where I could sit all the characters, who are present at the meeting in the book. At the time I wasn't aware of Eurobrick, or maybe had seen it but didn't know it had such a big community, but was somehow able to find this version on an image site. The rocks seemed the most difficult part to recreate and would also require many pieces, which I'd have to order, so I decided to just use @richchie's small buildings in Disco86's colour scheme. This was also my first big Bricklink project and I didn't know about Brickstock or Brickficiency, so as you can imagine it took quite a while to finish and was also quite expensive. I can't really say it's my design, but it's my version of a great set and two exceptional other people's creations.

I've had it displayed for maybe three years, but have recently started thinking about replacing the tiles with sideways placed bricks, using some snot techniques, which I couldn't have imagined when I was first building it.

There's usually a tree behind Elrond, but I wasn't pleased with it so removed it and took the opportunity to take some pictures without it in the way.

I'm uploading the LDD file without the minifigs, because I don't know how to find the exact ones.

Feel free to share your opinion and I would appreciate some ideas how to make a better tree. The one in the file is just a placeholder, but the real one wasn't much better.

Man! I am so proud that you use my creation of "council of elrond" as one of two creation that inspire you! I was also inspired by Disco´s council. He inpires me for example with seets for minifigures. the figures can have cloth and cen sit on th chair and thats very good in my opinion. I see that you chose the same building that I have and also the floor... again I am very proud that my council inpires you to build your own :-)

That's a really great MOC! Very nicely laid out and arranged. As mentioned, I would also recommend just some trees and foliage to hep blend the scene out with the border. The chairs and the arches on the trim/border are really nicely done.

This looks good but I think the lower part of the building could benefit from some more height.

If you're looking for inspiration there's also this superb Council variant by Alebricks:

This is indeed an excellent model, but I'm afraid it is out of my creative reach. I do want to build a rock base, but for now I consider this project done and updating it is not at the top of my to do list.

However I am curious how the floor in Alebricks version is made.
