This is my first attempt at an AFV and also my first ever attempt at "mass-producing" a vehicle.

This is the Sinister Industries Triumph Class LAV (Light Assault Vehicle), a twin-gun turretless fast-moving ground vehicle.

tank0.jpg

Equipped with two 50-megajoule fast repeating plasma cannon, the Triumph is ideal for both urban engagements with its short length and no extended barrels to snag on buildings, and for open territory with its heavy wheels and fast rate of speed.

tank1.jpg

Encased in advanced classified armour plating, the Triumph emits a minimal heat signature due to the dispersion vents placed behind the main gun capacitors. These vents ensure that the heat generated from the onboard turbine is cooled rapidly over a wide surface area.

tank2.jpg

The Triumph is fully amphibious and can even operate submerged for brief periods, making it ideal for fording rivers if bridges have been destroyed during earlier combat operations. The single crewmember is fully protected from all NCB type threats and can survive for up to five days encased inside his vehicle - although he probably wouldn't want to. However the Triumph is only classed as a Light Assault Vehicle due to its inability to directly face down modern Main Battle Tanks which would easily be able to penetrate the armour.

tank3.jpg

The twin plasma cannon have the ability to fire at elevated angles for long range bombardment or in an anti-air capacity, thus making the Triumph an excellent all-round offensive and defensive platform.

tank4.jpg

A view from above. The lack of a rotating turret does mean a slower rate of turn for the main guns as the entire vehicle has to rotate to face its target, but there is a significant weight saving.

tank5.jpg

The bars along the side serve a dual purpose - they act as passive sensor arrays to detect threats and also assist with the targeting of the plasma cannon - providing a stereoscopic view of the target to the driver on board. If necessary, the bars can also be energised to electrify the hull of the vehicle to deter enemy infantry from any potential assault.

The Tabletown Army has today taken delivery of sixteen platoons of four vehicles - here we see Doctor Sinister, Mayor of Tabletown, posing with the new acquisitions.

What a nice collection of Container Stackers! :-P

All kidding aside, I really like these! *y* They are unique, sleek, and highly armed! Great job! *y*

Yes, you correctly spotted where most of the parts came from! I like to set myself a challenge...in this case it was restricting myself as much as possible to using parts from that set - having built the actual containers for Tabletown. Waste not want not! :-D

Dr. S.

Very nice! This will definitely be able to fend off any Best-Lock attackers, unless they pull a full scale assault with their tanks... 8-|

I really like these, they're unique, fast, well armed, in fact my post-Apoc group could use a couple of them. Are you renting any out? We can afford it, I swear! X-D

where does your town get all this money? my town it can barely hold off the mega bloks forces

*vader*

Gambling and weapons manufacture, mainly. :-D

I love it! Very practical design for suburban pacification. :-D With this and your skeleton killing device Tabletown will be safe. I love your detailed explanations; it reminds me of my MOC rants! My favourite part was "If necessary, the bars can also be energised to electrify the hull of the vehicle to deter enemy infantry from any potential assault." :-D Hopefully these will only be used for defence. ;-)

Does this mean you do or do-not like the container stacker set? (I picked it straight away too! :-P )I bought mine as I wanted to make a crane just like it but I didn't have a boom for it... then Lego bring one out making it silly to build mine from parts! (I do plan to re-design mine though.) From your comments it seems you bought yours for the containers! :-P

The correct acronym is NBC, not NCB.... ;-) 5 days in that! :-X

Thanks for the feedback Sinner! :-)

You know, I was driving to work this morning and I was thinking "is it actually NBC or NCB?" and I thought I was probably wrong - my excuse is I was typing it at 02:00 AM. :-D I'll correct that on my website later, thanks for clarifying it for me.

Yes, I bought 5 container stackers - I built one of the actual stacking machines and just used the containers from all the other sets with the express intention of filling up my harbour a bit and then using the green angled plates for something like this. Now I need to buy some more so I can try and knock up a Tank along similar lines to this vehicle so they all look similar - could be tricky. It helped that a shop near me was selling the stackers at half price.

Very nice reclassification of supplies formerly intended for industrial use into the ever-growing military sector, and quite a nice little first line of defense.

I especially enjoy all of the backstory and details you provide. I'm not surprised to see Sinner commenting on in, as I've previously noted how well he does the same. It's that added depth to a creation that can push it from just being a nice build into the realm of realism.

Great job! I know that when I'm conducting business in Tabletown, I'll feel safer just knowing that such forces exist to keep down the unwashed masses and any invading armies. *y*

Thanks! I am always nervous when I post a new MOC and your feedback is appreciated as I'm not a very confident builder, to be honest.

These vehicles are actually quite heavy, given their size, and they have a low centre of gravity - they are very nice to play with, they really feel like they could be used in combat as they are fairly sturdy too, I love 'em!

I don't see why not. You creations are great! This and your tank are fantastic, I can't wait to see more!

Kind of off topic: The container stacker is great, but when dragonator bought it to go with his harbour, he found the boom doesn't turn, so it can't really stack the containers onto the ship, which was a bit disappointing. I guess it's the cranes job then.
