Wheat Field: Saturday night, I feel the air is getting hot ... :pir-laugh:

800x444.jpg

I'll start again: It is Saturday afternoon and Colonel Brickinson is paying an inspection visit to a Pontelli wheat plantation:

He has come to meet with the supervisor of the field

The golden field is in excellent shape

... and well-protected:

Thanks for watching - and, btw. approvals from Sea Rats, Corrington and Oleon are very welcome (this being 5th free-build) :pir-grin:

Those are some very tall wheat crops, CB! I suppose Eslandolians have not yet adopted the shorter stock wheat developed in Corrington through careful breeding and selection. You should know that it is much less given to being ruined by wind and rain! pirate_wink.gif

Overall nice build, and Corrington approves. pirate_satisfied.gif

I wonder though, if not it would look better, if those cones could be turned upside down (And I would probably do away with the yellow part) and topped by a 1x1 round? However, I can't quite figure out how to do it! pirate_tong.gif

I will have revenge for putting that song into my mind, pretty baby. pirate_laugh_new.gif I like your funny touches. This plantation should set you up for some golden years. Edited by Sir Stig

That gives 5 approvals so far - thanks a lot for your kindness in the face of my poor agricultural knowlege... pirate_satisfied.gif

pir_laugh2.gif I really liking your supervisor there Captain B, very nice field, and  from the leadership! pirate_wink.gif

Nice build, this Corrie approves

Thanks. I am always amazed to see my main character in my MOCs. This guy's life is so full of adventures (yawn) pir_wacko.gif

Yes, the field could definitely be approved, if I had other bricks in sufficient quantities... pirate_laugh2.gif

pirate_laugh_new.gif Perfect supervisor there! The field looks pretty full which is great and I also like the white fence pieces you've used!

Good - my wife did not like the fence...

You may also choose to hum along with Sting's song. pirate_laugh_new.gif

MONKEYS!

Neat build

Yes,thanks!

The white fence seems a little much and adds a cartoonish feel (never mind the Simpson's cat) but either way it is a nice little MOC and I like the crops!

+1 from this Sea Rat!

So you don't like the white fence? (I'll tell my wife)

Actually this is the first time I have really used those bricks.

Nice plantation. Apart from the sign it isn't obviously wheat but it's obviously a crop (yes, I know it's difficult and takes a lot of parts). The layout is pretty good and I like the little shed. The scarecrow is a natural fit; the farmer should be but he looks a little too modern to me for the setting.

The monkey supervisor with the eyeglass (or megaphone?) is hilarious. The expression the designers put on their faces is perfect for something like this. :pir-laugh::monkey:

I don't mind the white fence: it too looks kinda modern, but that basic design existed in old times so I can live with it. But surrounding the build with it makes the field look more like a garden plot; it would be a little more convincing as a field if it only went down two sides to form the corner of the field. But these are minor concerns.

It seems I'm forgetting something... ah yes, here's a "banana" for the "monkey": Approved from Corrington! :pir-laugh::pir-grin:

This build seems a bit corn-y to me! But I approve anyway (Corrie) thumbup.gif

In a little while Brickinson will be getting a pizza the action! Looks like he's born and bread for it! Wheat will he do next? (continues awful puns for another three pages....).

Seriously, nice build, and great fun, although your wheat plants look a little like maize.default_moar.gif The number of parts you've used for the wheat is most impressive. And I love the consistent high quality of your photography in all your submissions, I wish mine was that good pir_bawling.gif That monkey reminds me of a few bosses I've had...monkey.gif

You got me cornered...

Btw: The East wind trade corporation offers 25 db to anyone who builds a large plantation. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=120188&view=getnewpost

In there, the number of parts will also be a key challenge. I cannot build a field larger than this.

As to the cornish look of the plantation.

I have asked the supervisor myself (as I was also in doubt) but he just pointed at the sign (wheat), gave me his humans-are-so-stupid look and continued with his paperwork (he was filing for a tax exemption it seemed)...

I failed to mention (here and elsewhere) that the approval period has been shortened from 3 weeks to 2 weeks, to place dbs in the hands of players sooner (due to the fact that virtually no approvals were being granted that far out). If this was posted a day sooner you would've earned the dbs at the end of this month...

You should probably mention this in the overall BoBS thread, Captain Dee, so everyone sees it.
