DoubleT Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 My guess is that Like Star Wars and Indy, we have to wait for the New York toyfair, to get things comfirmed, and get better pics.. *sweet* Quote
xwingyoda Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 My guess is that Like Star Wars and Indy, we have to wait for the New York toyfair, to get things comfirmed, and get better pics.. *sweet* Yeay lets hope TT !! But the Toy fair is still a couple of weeks away (17-20 February) !! Can't wait for more goodies !! *yoda* Quote
Vader Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 Hate to burst your bubble guys but last year Toy Fair showed nothing new, all they had was old sets which was pretty poor. Lets hope that lego do produce some sets for show this year. Quote
yellost Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 didn't they show the new MTT and N1 starfaighter, last toy fair? as well as the bionicle Marhi and a few other sets? I know we saw pictures of them earlier but I think it was then that they were officially revealed or something... Quote
Brainbox Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 Talking about the new bat outfit, I was thinking that Bruce could go Blackhole trooper !! Imagine that, a regular black outfit, and the bat insignia (version BB) in silver 8- Quote
xwingyoda Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 A bit like the suit George Clooney wore near the end of Batman & Robin? But more black and less silver. And no molded nipples. :-D X-D exactly :-P *yoda* Quote

Hmmmm you could be right, but i do remember one year that they didn't show anything new. Quote
AgentRick Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 I was reading an issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly, and they had an article of the upcoming videogame. Apparently, there is a mode that let's you play as the villains, plus, they had a piture of what the Harley fig might look like *y* : If anyone else wants picture they can just request it. :-D Quote
Vader Posted January 5, 2008 Posted January 5, 2008 Theres a clearer game screen shot of what you posted somewhere around here, but thanks for the pic anyway. I think it would be really cool to be able to play as the villans, i would have great fun as the joker X-D Quote
Brainbox Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 I think it would be really cool to be able to play as the villans, i would have great fun as the joker X-D I'd imagine it'd be the same thing as with LSW and LSW2. You can buy all the other characters you've met but not played as with the studs you've collected, then play with them. At least, I certainly hope so. And is that Harley in the background? Quote
???theriddler??? Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 Yep, and there is great news, these two new sets where quick things, but later, there is no TDK box any more but the normal batman lego box, and better stuff etc, and the goon will replaced by harley, YES!!!! *y* >:-) *sweet* *wub* :'-) :-D Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 (edited) Thats great, 2 sets with Harley Quinn. where did you acqurie that info, any pics? Edited January 6, 2008 by professor flitwick Quote
Ashoka Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 I think i missed something, which set is the other Harley in? Ashoka~ Quote
General Zen Posted January 6, 2008 Posted January 6, 2008 These batman sets are a minor dissapointment. I know these are the prelims but I hope they improve. The tumbler looks very...blocky. The penquins submarine doesn't seem to have the shape of what I was expecting. Oh well. Other then that, the sets look good! *sweet* Quote
Brainbox Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 Looking at the newly discovered (three times, actually) Castle Advent Calendar, might it be safe to assume that the jester's hat is what we're getting for Harley? In red and black of course. It's certainly a very nice piece. Quote

Yes that is a great mold and you could use that suit for Harley aswell if you got bored of the black and white! Thanks alot brainbox and well spotted ;-) :-) Off topic (BTW is the witch on the ice a new fig or old?) Thanks, Ashoka~ Quote
hollisbrick Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 the buggy looks pretty cool (is it me or does it look like one in the movie?) bu the pengwin one looks a bit childish, cant wait for the next 2 pics! Quote
Batbrick Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 I'm BAAAAACCKK!!!!!! *skull* *skull* *skull* Bet you all missed me, I know I missed you! *wub* Anyhoo, It seems I pulled a Yoda wioth this one, but I love the Tumbler, a small mod to removee the technic shooter and yellow peices and I'll be fine! The design is extremely hard to do in MF scale, and I say give TLC a pat on the back for this wonderful effort! The Penguin set is cool if a little gimmicky, but still looks good, and is a good way for a cheap Robin and Penguin, and great to see a Robin mobile. You're going to give Batbrick a heart attack. In fact, maybe you already did! _______ HE DID! X-O Actually, my first season of Batman TAS came in today, I think you'll find, just by watching the spinetingling Two-Face part 2, that TAS is far darker than anything "The Batman" can conjure. Batbrick has Returned! >:-) Quote
jedikermit Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Welcome back, Batbrick! Actually, my first season of Batman TAS came in today, I think you'll find, just by watching the spinetingling Two-Face part 2, that TAS is far darker than anything "The Batman" can conjure. I've been rewatching parts of the first season too, and you're right--it's a much darker, more mature series than most of live action television. And it outpaces WB's current animation slate by...a lot. Quote

Excellently paced and really emoitional as well. I fear that series like TAS are lost to us forever.... :'-( Anyway glad to hear you pulled a *yoda* , thats always fun X-D Quote
Joebot Posted January 8, 2008 Author Posted January 8, 2008 Yeah i really love those two eps, they have to be my favorite from the whole series. Excellently paced and really emoitional as well.I fear that series like TAS are lost to us forever.... :'-( Anyway glad to hear you pulled a *yoda* , thats always fun X-D I think "Heart of Ice" is probably my favorite B:TAS episode from the first season. That first season is hit-and-miss for me. It wasn't until the second season that the show really began to hit its stride. Some of the art design and voice work is a little "off" in that first season, and some of the episodes had some odd, clunky pacing. However, even the so-so episodes of B:TAS are still light years ahead of anything currently on TV. Quote
jedikermit Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 I think "Heart of Ice" is probably my favorite B:TAS episode from the first season. Mine too...that was the first time I was genuinely moved by any cartoon. I was shocked. Even 16 years later, I still remember how amazing that episode was. It really showed the potential for the series and the medium. Quote
Batbrick Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 X-D It seems my return has sparked BTAS talk all over again! X-D Welcome back, Batbrick! Thanks jedikermit :-) Yeah i really love those two eps, they have to be my favorite from the whole series. Excellently paced and really emoitional as well.I fear that series like TAS are lost to us forever.... :'-( Anyway glad to hear you pulled a *yoda* , thats always fun X-D Pulling a *yoda* wasn't fun for me this time Vader, well kind of, whenm I got back all these new sets, I nearly exploded! Anyway, just glad to be back! Two-Face is also probably my favouritem tied with a few others, even at my age I still shudder and tremble when poor Harve breaks down without his coin. The ending was best ever too. I wouldn't discount Second Chance though, one of my favourites. It is a very underrated episode I feel, a very psychological, and sad sequel to the Two-Face two-parter. The ending in that one is very thematic and good too, with the shadow of arkham over Harvey's scars at the end, showing that for the short time he got to talk to Bruce, his inner demons weren't in control :'-) I think "Heart of Ice" is probably my favorite B:TAS episode from the first season. First season was a hit-and-miss, I believe, because the writers tried to hard to come up with new villains, like the lame invisible man and cringeworthy Sewer King. After shifting focus, and getting the characters out there, the latter part of season one was gold I feel. But yes, I'd still rather watch Batman in my Basement than a current Penguin episode of The Batman. Atleast his personality is right in that episode, in the new one, :-X Mine too...that was the first time I was genuinely moved by any cartoon. I was shocked. Even 16 years later, I still remember how amazing that episode was. It really showed the potential for the series and the medium. I think that the moment tears fell from Mr.Freeze I had tears forming in my own eyes when I watched that ep :-$ I need to get out more I feel. Anyway, atleast the haters of the new sets can have this consolidation, that with every rerelease of a villain, you won't be seeing that villlain in a set for a long time. So Joker, Penguin, Riddler, Scarecrow and Robin will be taken up by new characters. Or a NEEDED rerelease, like Bane, I want him in a cheap set so I can get three of him. I'm really paranoid I'll lose him. Poison Ivy would be a good rerelease too, as green, just to satisfy Brainbox. Batbrick is Back! >:-) Quote
Brainbox Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 (edited) Off topic (BTW is the witch on the ice a new fig or old?) New, I think. I'm BAAAAACCKK!!!!!! *skull* *skull* *skull* As jedikermit said, welcome back. I was beginning to fear you'd been sent to Arkham... Poison Ivy would be a good rerelease too, as green, just to satisfy Brainbox. Aww, I didn't know you cared. X-D As for the Tumbler, I think the fact that we've got one at all is good news. So it's not as close to the real one as some of us would have liked. At least we've got one. Edited January 9, 2008 by Brainbox Quote
Batbrick Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 (edited) As jedikermit said, welcome back. I was beginning to fear you'd been sent to Arkham... Thankyou *sweet* No I wasn't sent to Arkham, they were full up. They had to prepare a special cell in Blackgate Penitentiary. The padded walls were nice though. Aww, I didn't know you cared. X-D Of course I do! We Batfans have got to stick together you know, and you're not the only one who'd love a green ivy *wub*.......... As for the Tumbler, I think the fact that we've got one at all is good news. So it's not as close to the real one as some of us would have liked. At least we've got one. I agree with this. I think they've done a fine job, and even the shooting mechanisms are not heavily intergrated into the set (unlike the Batmobile, that was a hard thing to Mod). The final version will probably look even better, and when you replace the grey and gold grills with black ones, that will also improve it. And also, don't discount the fact that these are preliminary. The batsuit will change no doubt, and I'm hoping that the Joker gets a purple fedora and trenchcoat (which would also confirm Gordon). Plus the ice cream truck is cool, and I have no icecream peices, so this one is a must for me. That sounded a little stupid in retrospect, the reason for me to get the set is STILL the Tumbler, the icecream is a bonus :-$ And then there is that mystery fifth set I'm always speculating. I have become more sure of its existence now that we see there is a set number gap. Batbrick is Back! >:-) Edited January 9, 2008 by Batbrick Quote
