Brainbox Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Thankyou *sweet* No I wasn't sent to Arkham, they were full up. Really? I heard they always kept a spare cell for Batman, for when he finally went mad. Wouldn't surprise me if Batbrick had one as well... The final version will probably look even better, and when you replace the grey and gold grills with black ones, that will also improve it. Maybe add a few slopes and wedge plates as well, some at different angles. Plus the ice cream truck is cool, and I have no icecream peices, so this one is a must for me. That sounded a little stupid in retrospect, the reason for me to get the set is STILL the Tumbler, the icecream is a bonus :-$ I quite like the truck as well, especially the giant ice cream on top. Plus, it's just the sort of thing the Joker would steal, seeing as how it's not that useful to commiting crimes, but it is a bit crazy. And of course it sounds like "I scream" which probably explains his motives. I mean, this is a guy who once killed all the people in the Gotham ponebook with palindromic names. And then there is that mystery fifth set I'm always speculating. I have become more sure of its existence now that we see there is a set number gap. I think you might be right. I mean, we got Arkham as a S@H exclusive in Wave 1, but nothing in Wave 2. So, if we use Arkham as a guide, an exclusive will be relatively big ( Quote
Batbrick Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 (edited) Really? I heard they always kept a spare cell for Batman, for when he finally went mad. Wouldn't surprise me if Batbrick had one as well... I'm not as popular unfortunately. I'm still starting out as a vigilante, and comparisons to Batman aren't helping. The fact that Batman gets his own cell annoys me too, I mean, I don't look THAT much like him do I? Maybe add a few slopes and wedge plates as well, some at different angles. Oh yes, really, its only small things that need to be changed I think. People forget that at one point you HAVE to leave a set the size it is, minifigs take up a lot of room. Wedge plates are a good idea too, I personally think the Batmobile needed more modding, that darn shooty thingy was intergrated into the set a lot. I quite like the truck as well, especially the giant ice cream on top. Plus, it's just the sort of thing the Joker would steal, seeing as how it's not that useful to commiting crimes, but it is a bit crazy. And of course it sounds like "I scream" which probably explains his motives. "I Scream", I had never thought of that. reminds me of Joker's awesome paintjob on the truck in The Dark Knight: "SLaughter is the best medicine!" It also seems very Jokerish too, as you stated. And the Ice Cream on top is a simple but effective design I had never thought of. I mean, this is a guy who once killed all the people in the Gotham ponebook with palindromic names. Not to mention blew up hot-air balloon carrying Girl Scouts cookies just so he could laugh at the sight of biscuits raining down on Gotham. The Joker never ceases to entertain me, I hear many people say he is too one dimensional just because he is irredeemable, but I could honestly write a 1000 word essay just on his sense of humour. Not that I would, I hate essays. I think you might be right. I mean, we got Arkham as a S@H exclusive in Wave 1, but nothing in Wave 2. Brainbox Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 "I Scream", I had never thought of that. reminds me of Joker's awesome paintjob on the truck in The Dark Knight: "SLaughter is the best medicine!" I only noticed as I was typing my post. Weird how no-one seems to have noticed. Evidently, they don't have Batman's deductive skills or intellect. Not that I would, I hate essays. I frequently get told to shut up when I start to become a bit of a comic geek, citing endless knowledge about characters, histories and issues. :-D I hope Wayne Manor, even if it would be a bit open or playset like. You could still intergrate it into a full building, and we would get characters like:Tim Drake, Dick Grayson, Barbara Gordon, Batgirl, Bruce Wayne, Batman, Alfred, Ra's Al Ghul, Talia Al Ghul, Ubu, LOA Assassins, or maybe even the Commissioner. I don't mind backless buildings. It'd be one my Batcave shelf anyway, so it'd have it's back to the room. Actually, that's a point, if we get Wayne Manor, I'll have a shelf less to use... Well, it looks like its back to the good old days of us two keeping this threads alive :-D What else were we to expect? Quote
Batbrick Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 I only noticed as I was typing my post. Weird how no-one seems to have noticed. Evidently, they don't have Batman's deductive skills or intellect. And you do? :-P But the Joker is always piloting weird stuff anyway, heres looking forward to the Jokermobile! I frequently get told to shut up when I start to become a bit of a comic geek, citing endless knowledge about characters, histories and issues. :-D I feel your pain, I really do. Not to mention citing the different incarnations and interpretations, and lets not forget Elseworlds tales. Of course, my friend at school is waiting for me to get Harley Quinn, I keep telling her she comes out next year, but I did get Bane. "Who's Bane?" she replies. Sigh. I don't mind backless buildings. It'd be one my Batcave shelf anyway, so it'd have it's back to the room. Actually, that's a point, if we get Wayne Manor, I'll have a shelf less to use... Oh I don't mind backless buildings at all either, I meant something like the Cloud City playset or such, which I wouldn't mind at all, or an Arkham-like design, with different sections. Wayne Manor is a must I think, people say its too big, but forget the enormity that is the Batcave. What else were we to expect? Exactly my friend, exactly :-D That said, we still manage to keep on topic, so I see no harm in two bat-geeks getting their way. Batbrick Away! >:-) Quote
Brainbox Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 But the Joker is always piloting weird stuff anyway, heres looking forward to the Jokermobile! As long as it's the one from the 50s, with his face on the front! :-P Not to mention citing the different incarnations and interpretations, and lets not forget Elseworlds tales. Oh yeah, I do that to. There was a guy walking round in a trenchcoat today, which was billowing out behind him to a ridiculous degree. We were calling him Batman, untill I told my friends not to mess with the Dark Knight, as he's quite possibly the best martial artist on Earth. Didn't go down too well... There was a guy walking round in a trenchcoat today, which was billowing out behind him to a ridiculous degree. We were calling him Batman, untill I told my friends not to mess with the Dark Knight, as he's quite possibly the best martial artist on Earth. Didn't go down too well... Wow! That is a bit weird, though how can I talk, seeing as I spent an entire day trying to convince my friend that Batman could beat Chuck Norris in a fight. And that Batman HAS beat Superman. I don't think he was even interested, it just sprung from a lame Chuck Norris joke (long story), and I don't even like those jokes! I think I need to get a life. But then again, I think I enjoy not having one. If anything, the Batcave wasn't big enough! If it was styled a bit like Arkham, that'd be quite good. With a few rooms and a clock entrance. I'd probably MOD it bigger anyway, like I plan to do with Arkham. Cool, I'd like to see that mod, do you plan on a Bat-Goody Bag part 3? I really enjoyed those. I'm about to post a topic on my Bat-minifig artwork, hope you don't mind, seing as I was kind-of inspired to after seeing yours. I think an Arkham style for the manor is the way to go, that way we would get all the important sections, and you might even get that clock entrance you've been pining for. And the Batcave is NEVER big enough, is it? Batbrick is Back! >:-) Quote
captaintau Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Off topic a second: The Caped Crusader attacked me today. He hit me over the head with a Ming vase and declared "T'Pau!" Me, being a pedantic big behind, suggested that maybe he meant "KaPow!" or something like. Batman explained that "no, I had China in my Hand!" Sorry. Quote
Brainbox Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 And that Batman HAS beat Superman. Several times actually. Once in DKR, when he was wearing the armour, once in DKSA when he was wearing Kryptonite gloves, and he recently went up against Supes in Superman/Batman: The Enemies Among Us, when Bats was possessed by the Blackrock. But they're too much of good friends to fight without real reason, and one of them isn't usually of right mind. Cool, I'd like to see that mod, do you plan on a Bat-Goody Bag part 3? I really enjoyed those. Thanks :-) . Yes, there will be one eventually, but it'll have to wait till I've got enough stuff to show. So far I've got a Batglider based on the one seen in Year One, the official Batwing that I've MODed into a more streamlined Batplane (ie two seats), and a suit of Bat-armour. Suffice to say there'll be a few other surprises in there too... which I've not actually started... or conceived. I'll either leave it till I've done Arkham, or do it before depending on how long it's taking. I'm going to leave finishing the updated Batcave until after I've got this year's sets, so I don't have to change it as soon as I've finished it. I'm about to post a topic on my Bat-minifig artwork, hope you don't mind, seing as I was kind-of inspired to after seeing yours. I look forward to seeing it. And the Batcave is NEVER big enough, is it? Hell no! Even in the comics, it seems to have no defined depth. Jokermobile On! Quote

Yeah, DKR was my favourite one though, great dialogue, crazy action. Atleast I remember it that way, haven't read it in a looong time. But the writers do tend to be rather biased towards bats though, ultimately, its up to them, and most seem to want the underdog to win. That said of course, like you've stated, they are good friends, so usually theres some sort of alien brain parasite or plot twist involved. Thanks :-) . Good idea to leave it, The Tumbler is sure to take up some serious space. I can't wait to see your Year One Glider, I hope TLC releases a better version, seeing as the one in Arkham was, er...dissappointing? A suity of Bat-armour eh? Will that be a custom sticker job? Or done using peices? Or aren't I allowed to know? :-D My Batcave is currently just the TLC released version due to a disappointing lack of parts, I plan to one day mod it, which will be fun, seeing as my large cupboards could easily have a bit of grey/black wallpaper slapped on them, and then it will have a nice background look. I look forward to seeing it. Thankyou :-) , some of the characters I warn you though, are a little....off, as I drew them with no pictures to reference while on holiday for two weeks at Anson's Bay. So look forward to plenty "ha! Got ya there!" moments when I post them. Overall I like them though, I was dreadful at drawing minifigs before but I think I have vastly improved. I'm a pretty quick learner with drawing, its one of my favourite hobbies. Hell no! Even in the comics, it seems to have no defined depth. :-D , very true, even in the future in DKR (of course out-of-canon, but still interesting) he goes to explore the unexplored regions of the cave. Now THATS big! Speaking of which, this brings me to the only on-topic part of the discussion, whether or not we would ever see a Batcave extension set. Like you stated before, plenty of things to do, trophy room, medical bay, garage, dock, and a safe where TLC could slip in Kryptonite. I would hope we would see one, though I'd like Wayne Manor first. Again, we Batfans are never happy! Jokermobile On! That it! To The Brickmobile! The Penguin Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Good day! I'm new to this forum, so please don't throw me out instantly if it had already been discussed! :-) I've found quite intriguing news on ign.com: UK, October 29, 2007 - During last Friday's Wii LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga public unveiling at Nottingham Game City, Jonathan Smith, head of production at Traveller's Tales Games let slip a few tidbits of information regarding upcoming title LEGO Batman. Having wowwed the crowds with a toy lightsaber taped to a Wiimote, Smith wrapped up proceedings with LEGO Indiana Jones trailer before turning his attention to the Dark Knight's LEGO debut, revealing that Batman villains Nighthawk and Man-Bat are among the denizens of Gotham City who'll make it into the game. Sure, it's not much, but it seems there'll be plenty for LEGO fans to look forward to in the coming months and beyond. So, does that mean that TLC is going to make at least 2 new sets? *sweet* Quote

Sorry to say, but that news has already been posted, but thanks anyway, its good that you put it here instead of creating a new topic for it. And don't worry, this is a friendly forum, you won't get "thrown out" unless you spam constantly (you don't seem to be the spamming kind anyway :-) ) or be mean to others. If you want to see pictures of two upcoming batsets, they can be found about two or three pages back. I might repost them soon so its easier. There are 4 sets coming out, we have found two. Made for a great episode, and I bet even some dislikers of that show would enjoy the fight. ;-) Anyway, these new kits are looking pretty good, but I'm dismayed that we still probably won't get a Gordon or Batgirl minifig. The Penguin Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 It seems that TLC is not willing to make any non-vehicle sets, so I think that we should expect them to make as many sets, as Batman has different vehicles left.... :-) Quote

Locust Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Hi ppl, i am from Singapore and i am a big fan of Batman. my memories of Batman mainly stems from the animated series from the 90s and i must say the Lego Batman series is definitely a dream come true for me. Lego Batman is my intro to Lego and I have almost all the sets to this date. (besides the batmobile ultimate.) i must say this forum is a really good source of news for the Lego Batman line (even better than the lego official site?!). it is also nice to see so many collectors here and to observe your discussions. my view on the batman line released till now is that they are all great sets to play with.... However, i would prefer sets such as the Batcave and Arkham Asylum to vehicle sets. Like many here, i am really hopping for location sets..eg Wayne Manor. even a Gotham Bank robbery set with new character sets would be cool! anyway, this is a great forum with great mods, and definitely looking forward to more new updates of the 4 new upcoming sets (would still get them cause i am just crazy over this Lego line)! Brainbox Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Bit of a backlog of quotes to clear, so here we go: But the writers do tend to be rather biased towards bats though, ultimately, its up to them, and most seem to want the underdog to win. I'd noticed that too. Of the two main 'visions of the future' Kingdom Come and DKR, Supes doesn't come off too well in either. DKR presents himas a naive pawn of the corrupt establishment, while Kingdom Come portrays him as a pacifist who's just given up. Good idea to leave it, The Tumbler is sure to take up some serious space. I can't wait to see your Year One Glider, I hope TLC releases a better version, seeing as the one in Arkham was, er...dissappointing?A suity of Bat-armour eh? Will that be a custom sticker job? Or done using peices? Or aren't I allowed to know? :-D The trouble with leaving it is that I so desparately want to get it finished. The glider is fairly accuate to the comic inspiration, but the handles are different. The Bat-armour is entirely brick-built, and while it doesn't look that bulky, it still looks pretty good. Thankyou :-) , some of the characters I warn you though, are a little....off, as I drew them with no pictures to reference while on holiday for two weeks at Anson's Bay. I'm a pretty quick learner with drawing, its one of my favourite hobbies. I have that problem too. I so desparately want to be able to draw well, because I enjoy it, but I just can't. With the possible exception of minifigs, though. It doesn't help that my outlining pen seems to have run out, so I'm going to have to find another (similar) one. :-| And let's not forget the one in the last episode of Batman Beyond, where Superman is trying to destroy the justice league when he is possessed buy an alien symbiote thing... And there's the one from Hush where Supes is under Ivy's control (again :-| ). Oh, and there's a minor argument in Death In The Family, when Bats punches Supes. I now realise that my list was distinctly inadequate... But I do hope they release a batman, in a batman beyond suit, or a technologically advanced one. I agree. The more Batsuit designs, the merrier. Actually, you've just reminded me of another character I'd like to see. I know we'll never get him, but... Batzarro! I mean, he's like Bizarro (my favourite charcter in comics, as long as he's the modern Bizarro #1) and he's like Batman. >:-) i must say this forum is a really good source of news for the Lego Batman line (even better than the lego official site?!). it is also nice to see so many collectors here and to observe your discussions. You mean the Lego Batman site that never gets updated? Oh, and welcome to all the new members who've strayed to this thread, perhaps drawn by the light that is the Batsignal. Quote
