Finally, all the problems have been sorted. I can log in on BS and here, and I can post here. Frankly, it's been long enough.

Awesome, I look forward to more of your creations.

Never! Besides, Lego's for life, not just for Christmas. ;-)

This simply must go in my sig.

Me neither. I just thought I'd be difficult. X-D

Well that confirms it then, you're back.

Now that I can upload my pics, I can finally post Bat-Moc 3. Obviously I've got to do all the photography, but I'll try and get it up as soon as possible.

Sweet, have you finished supersizing Arkham or was that another project?

As for your GCPD and Part 3, I had a quick look the other day, but obviously couldn't post anything. Both look really ncie, and I'm off for a proper look as soon as I've finished here. I have to say, I didn't notice my umbrella in there.

Thankyou, I was just joking too, hope I didn't come off as a jerk on your first day back :-$

Again, hope you don't mind me using that umbrella technique, I quite liked it.

I see you've also got some more of those promised Bat-impulses up. I also see that I've managed to corrupt you into including some Kryptonite.

Guilty as charged. Infact, I've even planned out what mods I'm going to do to the 08 sets when I get them, from making a bigger interior in the Penguin Sub to literally remaking the Batbuggy into something a bit more, well, useful.

No, nowhere near. It'll either go in Part 4 or a .5 part.

Not at all. On both counts.

:-$ So have I. Only I've started doing it for all my intended purchases. As far as the Bat-sets go, here's what I'm planning;

Bat-Buggy: I'll remove the flame, as it's going to be stood in the Batcave. The grappling hook's going, and I'll probably add some sort of rollcage. As for Freeze's buggy, it's difficult to tell it's that small.

Jet-sub/ Penguin sub: I might remove as much of the yellow as possible on Robin's sub, keeping the green and red. On Penguin's sub, the flick-fire missiles, and the shooter in the back are going, and the sub will be reconstructed without them.

Batcycle/Hammer truck: I'll remove the flick fire missiles on the truck (and maybe start calling it the Hammer Hummer ;-) ), and completely rebuild the bike. Perhaops remake it as a faithful Batpod.

Tumbler: On Joker's truck, yep you guessed it, the shooter is going. I might add an interior in it's place. As for the Tumbler, I'll have to see when I've got it. Apart from the shooter and the flick-fire missiles that is.

Okay, make that three times.

Oh, I'm guessing you're trying to amass bricks for t. I s it going to be in the same style as the released version? I think mine will be, but the spooky details will be more spread out so it look more like a proper asylum. Though I'm terrified of starting, I'm losing all my bricks to these permanent creations.

Thanks.

Very clever, heres mine, which I devised on holiday at the shack:

Bat-Buggy: Totally redesign into an all terrain vehicle, using larger wheels than provided. Remove flame and batfin, add grappling hook to Batcave and such.

Mr.Freeze Vehicle: Tear apart completely and use pieces o build finally a good vehicle for Mr.Freeze. (Which really makes you wonder why Penguin was n the bigger set if Freeze was the only one without a decent rid, oh well)

Robin Sub: Extend and enlargen cockpit so Robin can sit up. Basically make it bigger.

Penguin Submarine: Remove FF and technic missiles and hollow out frame for a better inside, if only fr a cargo bay. Make the back openable so there is an access point.

Batcycle: Like you, this baby is becoming a Batpod. Thin the side and remove bulk, get rid of missiles. Lower it, and make it either longer or far thinner to be accurate. Replace yellow with black.

Hammer Hummer ( X-D I like your term): Remove missiles and make minor mods. Really, its pretty perfect.

Joker Van: Add interior and sales window, remove missile, fix model ice cream cone in place, and add a few deadly Joker tricks.

Tumbler: Reshape back over removed shooters. Aside from that, I'll have to see better views of the model to be sure. Right now the only thing I don't like is that it could possibly be a bit too big, I might reshape it a tad.

Okay, make that three times.

Three times? I thought there were four....I must be lacking in Dark Knight shadow creeping skills somewhat.

I'm just worried I'm not going to have enough bricks left for my Batcave shelf, which will also be copmpletely redone once I've got this year's sets. I'm using a lot of the pieces from the official, certainly, but to be honest, I don't really know quite what I'm going for. It's going to be big, and it's going to be somewhat modular (due to the baseplate), but other than that. Although, I am going for a sort of 'ugly' look, but that's mainly due to the mix of greys, bleys, browns and black.

Mr.Freeze Vehicle: Tear apart completely and use pieces o build finally a good vehicle for Mr.Freeze. (Which really makes you wonder why Penguin was n the bigger set if Freeze was the only one without a decent rid, oh well)

Hmm, I might think about giving mine skis and some sort of treads to make a skimobile, rather than a go-kart with absolutely no grip on icy roads.

Robin Sub: Extend and enlargen cockpit so Robin can sit up. Basically make it bigger.

I don't know if my soon-to-be-updated Batcave could cope if it was any bigger. I've already got to squeeze in a Bat-tank and a Tumbler!

Tumbler: Reshape back over removed shooters. Aside from that, I'll have to see better views of the model to be sure. Right now the only thing I don't like is that it could possibly be a bit too big, I might reshape it a tad.

I might redo some of the angles if I see the need. And I think there are only two parts to the spoiler on each side, rather than the three there should be, but I'm not too sure.

Hmm, maybe I've missed one.

Yes, thats my worry as well, I think Wayne Manor will be coming from me first, after all these wonderful tan sets this year. I'm probably going to keep the released look for Arkham, but as said before more spread out details for a better asylum look. I will need a bit of brown and black. You are using a baseplate? Interesting, any particular reason?

Hmm, I might think about giving mine skis and some sort of treads to make a skimobile, rather than a go-kart with absolutely no grip on icy roads.

I like the idea of treads more personally, clever. I'll probably make a wheeled contraption with spikes on the wheels and cryo equipment in the back. A wee bit like the Batman and Robin version, but, well, far less flamboyant :-D

I don't know if my soon-to-be-updated Batcave could cope if it was any bigger. I've already got to squeeze in a Bat-tank and a Tumbler!

Hmm, I have yet to enlarge my Batcave, I'll probably spread it across two shelves side by side as opposed to your vertical alignment (which I do fancy btw).

Maybe a whole dock and vehicle platform, and of course the necessary science room and costume display, and yes, the kryptonite chamber ;-)

I might redo some of the angles if I see the need. And I think there are only two parts to the spoiler on each side, rather than the three there should be, but I'm not too sure.

Yes, its a hard creation to make out from the pics, let alone mod appropriately to the movie. I'm tempted to make a mark 2 tumbler based on Wetwire's ingenious design, I'll do that when I get the appropriate pieces.

Hmm, maybe I've missed one.

Might of been in the Mars Mission thread, I was rather sneaky there...

I haven't got any Bat MnM's coming for a while now, its time for bigger projects. I try to keep all my Batmocs permanent though, so many parts in my "Treats" are still on display, do you do this?

It's the baseplate from here I'm using. I picked up this set a couple of years ago for about £30, and it's just sort of sat on my shelf since. The other week, I figured I could use it for an Arkham. For one thing, it makes the whole thing look taller, for another it provides a pretty spacious are underneath the main section for a North-West Batcave (yes, I've snuck it in), and it also allows for some semi-gothic steps. Plus, I've no other use for it.

I might see if I can make some card backdrops to fill in the gaps of the shelf. It'll make the cave seem deeper (is the plan), and will conveniently block out the blue wall.

Yeah, and my shelves hate me for it. Seriously, I've barely got any room left, and I've got to find space for Agents and Castle this year. The Bat-sets don't count, as there's already a section for the villain vehicles, or at least there will be once the old Arkham's been grafted onto the new one, and the Bat-vehicles will go in the Cave.

Ah, that'll be rather effective I think, and I like the idea of a north west Batcave (so long as you keep it well hidden ;-) ) The plus of making it taller was one reason why I kept the baseplate for my GCPD. Just make sure you have enough bricks...

That's look great, I was thinking of doing the same thing, but I may end drawing up my own on a black sheet of paper. Either way, it would look a lot better, I always thought that was the single detractor of your display.

You need to follow my suit and make an entire wall of your room one long line on cupboards X-D I'll still have that problem too, I guess I'll take apart more sets. How many Castle ones do you plan on? I know I sadly want to get them all, and most of the Agents too, though the Agents will be demolished for parts in some areas. Its really quite scary thinking how I'll add the vehicles to the Cave, I might have to resort to the Hush style platform that holds several vehicles above.

Hopefully I will. At the moment, I'm using mainly black and brown for the middle section, and greys for the towers. Of course, that may change higher up, but the idea is that it'll add to the ugliness, while not depleting my parts stocks.

To be honest, that was never meant to be a finalised display anyway, I always knew I wanted to optimise all the space. The middle and bottom shelf are certainly tall enough to accomodate two levels. Not necessarily full levels, but maybe some platforms.

I've also got to make sure the heavier vehicles, like the Bat-tank and Tumbler, go on the shelf base, while lighter ones like the bikes and the dragster can go on platforms.

I might also fill in any gaps between platforms actually say on the shelf with some black paper to cover up the actually shelf, making the cave look deep.

I'd actually love to do that, but I don't think I've really got the room. Because of the layout of my non-shelf furniture (bed, desk, wardrobe), I've not got a 'free' wall. Plus, I'd have less room for posters, and I do have rather a lot of those. But, that said, I may give it serious consideration...

As for Castle, I plan on getting most of this years sets (not so fussed on the troll ship though). It's not the actual sets thats the problem, it's the number of each set. I will get sopme duplicates for army building, especially of the battle packs, Dwarf catapult, Impulse sets and maybe a few more Crossbow Attacks. But the actual numbers remain unconfirmed.

And most of the Agents stuff will stay built, apart from possibly the gate in the car set.

Very clever, I really like that idea. It seems your Arkham is going to be wildly different from mine, I like your colour choices too. I probably have enough brown to start now, but I'd rather wait and be sure, I want to have some left over for MOCing when I'm done. Of course the trick is keeping the ugly look without literally making it ugly and unappealing, thats where I'll have trouble. I on the other hand will probably look to the main section of the released version for inspiration, tweaking the design and then expanding it out to become a larger building. I might perhaps make to large wall and sit the across the corner, making it appear to be a four walled building.

For not having some space you've certainly worked out some innovative ideas to keep some, I like your platforms idea, it would definitely look at home in the Batcave. The problem in itself is almost not the space, but the bricks used to achieve it. I know that if I want to use a second shelf as a dock and vehicle platform, the number of bricks, plates and special parts (ladders, metal rigging) needed will be enormous. I would very much like to see yours with black paper, I think it would certainly complete the effect.

I'd actually love to do that, but I don't think I've really got the room. Because of the layout of my non-shelf furniture (bed, desk, wardrobe), I've not got a 'free' wall. Yes, I only managed to get a wall shelf as my brother was staying in my room too when we had an exchange student over for a year, and we needed space. It helps a lot however, though many people tend to question the necessity of an entire wall of shelves :-D

You could always find some free space for a small shelf or single cupboard if you had any. Most castle sets then, and multiples, what about that wacky Troll Battlewheel?

Sad for me I don't think I'll be able to get many multiples, maybe just a few small dwarf catapult sets, I'd have to say this year of Lego is TOO good. Most of it still built for Agents? Interesting, do you find it hard to break down sets or do you just like to display them? I display all my sets for a while, but my Indy sets are going down soon. Do you steal parts off your display sets for mocs, and then return them? Just curious that's all :-)

Interesting. It looks like mine will have to be four walls though. It certainly will to accomodate the cells on the upper levels, so the lower floors will probably have to be as well. I'd like to do a TLC-style 3-walled Arkham. Actually, I wonder if I could add an extra floor in to remove the cells from the rear wall, then keep the back open...

I might get the Battle Wheel actually. I wasn't going to because of the cost, but when my new S@H catalogue arrived the other day I discovered it was only £30. I was expecting it to be more like £40.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to buy for a while. I'm planning on buying a laptop this holiday (I'm off for 2 weeks), so that'll remove most non-essential expenditure for a couple of months. :'-(

Sad for me I don't think I'll be able to get many multiples, maybe just a few small dwarf catapult sets, I'd have to say this year of Lego is TOO good.

I'm only getting multiples of the smaller sets and BPs though, and even then only if I can afford it. I've got to pay for food, travel and clothes as well.

Most of it still built for Agents? Interesting, do you find it hard to break down sets or do you just like to display them? I display all my sets for a while, but my Indy sets are going down soon. Do you steal parts off your display sets for mocs, and then return them? Just curious that's all :-)

:-D Both. Most of the new sets I buy tend to go on display somewhere. Not all, but most. They then tend to stay displayed until I get to point where I've either run out of space, or 'had enough' of the set. I spent a day recently removing a few sets from display, purging them for parts. Most of the Agents stuff is going to stay up, but only because I really quite like them. I don't know why, but I just think they're all really cool, in a sort of high-action way.

I'm also planning on finding somewhere for the Mach 5 and Racer X's car to go, once I've bought and MODed them, as they could be quite cool. But I'm not too fussed on the other cars in the sets, so they'll probably be salvaged for parts.

I'm also going to lose a shelf for my new printer when I get it. |-/

Do you steal parts off your display sets for mocs, and then return them? Just curious that's all :-)

I have done occasionally, but only for MOCs that I know aren't going to be displayed. I wouldn't do it for a MOD though, as they tend to be permanent (at least until I scrap the set). But sometimes I make an exception, yeah... :-$

The two walls idea is only a last resort if I run out of pieces. If I were you I'd keep the back open, works much better I think and then the whole thing ends up larger anyway. My Wayne Manor is likely to be open back, but WAY open back. Using my vast amount of tan I plan to have at least ten studs inside space from front to back.

I'm also going to have to make sure I reinforce any platforms, either to rocks or to the platform underneath so they don't collapse. I'm currently stockpiling any ladders, chains and fences I find, as I just know I'm going to need them.

Yes, thats a hard part. Some of my Interactive apocalypse buildings relied on heavy platform support so hopefully I'll have learned a trick or two. Plus chains are good, always good. I might even take a leaf out of you book and include kryptonite, among other superhero accessories. Hopefully we can both find a way to stack up platform without omitting the view of other parts of the Cave.

Thats good pricing for you then, I wonder what it'll be here in Australia. A Laptop? Shiny. My Mum bought a laptop recently as she has decided to go to university, I must say those touch pads are tricky until you get a mouse. Good luck with that then, I just realised the other day my sum total with all the other things I'm going to buy, and only then remembered the Lego Batman game :'-(

I do the same, temporary creations often steal bits from displays, only to be returned. I know I use the "had enough" syndrome too, Hybrid Rescue Tank is going down soon.

I'll agree on the Agents port with you too, I can't believe how cool they turned out, especially the enormous truck. I really must get them all, fantastic parts everywhere. I'll probably take apart the Turbocar gate, Swamp Hunt base, and thats about it. I love the cheesy aspect too.

I'm also planning on finding somewhere for the Mach 5 and Racer X's car to go, once I've bought and MODed them, as they could be quite cool. But I'm not too fussed on the other cars in the sets, so they'll probably be salvaged for parts.

I'll just demolish them all. I'm buying the Grand Prix, Mach 5, and red truck for the fantastic parts. Most people will ask me "Why the red truck?", but have you seen the minifig faces and torsos that come with it? The Grand prix just has great parts and much needed fleshies for Batman, and the mach 5 is THE Mach 5, and has that cool Snake Oiler head and wonderful orange parts. Oh dear, this'll cost me...

I'm also going to lose a shelf for my new printer when I get it. |-/

On no, going backwards here...

Me too, though I did steal the Batcave batsignal for the police station, which made a lot more sense anyway :-D

Mods are actually really annoying, the Batmods especially tend to eat up my black parts supply, and black is pretty much my most used colour.

I got to £120, and that's only counting stuff from this new (current) S@H catalogue. There're the 2 games, the Bat-sets and the Agents sets to go yet. Plus, some non-Lego purchases: books, cinema tickets, a couple of Transformers.

and the mach 5 is THE Mach 5

I'm not even a Speed Racer fan! I must say, though, that the film looks very cool.

Yes, the Joker card, giant coin, kryptonite, robot dinosaur, what else?

Are you getting the Indy game too? I probably will, but its at the bottom of the list right now, so many things to buy. I'm trying to stock up more graphic novels this year too, and collect the DCAU, starting at Vol 1 of BTAS which I got in January.

I'm not even a Speed Racer fan! I must say, though, that the film looks very cool.

I'm not a Speed Racer fan either, but c'mon, it's the Mach 5! X-D

It's made by the Wachowski brothers, so hopefully its less Matrix sequels and more Matrix and V for Vendetta.

Yhing is, I'm not even sure how I'll do these. The T-Rex is sorted. It's the wrong colour, and slightly the wrong shape (being the red mutant one from Dino Attack/Dino 2010), but never mind, the idea's there. The Joker card I'll probably print and put it one some card. As for the coin, I may have to do the same as there's no way I can build a convincing one.

I'll probably stick a umbrella in there, there's always an umbrella. Maybe a few villain costumes that are going spare, a few 'anonymous' filler items, some weaponry, a Spiderman newspaper (crossover event anyone?), and some other things I can't quite recall. I've made a list though, wherever it is.

Are you getting the Indy game too? I probably will, but its at the bottom of the list right now, so many things to buy. I'm trying to stock up more graphic novels this year too, and collect the DCAU, starting at Vol 1 of BTAS which I got in January.

Yes, I willbe getting Indy. I bought 52 voklumes 2, 3 and 4 yesterday, and I know I'm not supposed tob e spending, but I made an excpetion here. They were 3 for 2, and I had a £5 book token left from ages ago. That took it down to £19 (from £36). I'd just recieved £10 that morning, so that takes it down to £9. That £9 will be replaced with a cheque I have to pay in from Easter, so technically I didn't actually spend any of my money.

I'm up to about week 42 at the moment, I think. It's very good, despite the lack of the Big 3 (well, mostly). I just need to get the World War 3 tie-in trade, then I can start on Countdown...

Although technically this is World War 4. The DCU already had WW3 back in JLA when the entire world faced Mageddon. There's one for the fanboys...

I'm not a Speed Racer fan either, but c'mon, it's the Mach 5! X-D

Well, exactly. It's up there with Optimus Prime and the Batmobile.

Yhing is, I'm not even sure how I'll do these. The T-Rex is sorted. Whoah! You're using THAT dinosaur? I'm using the classic green one, which tend to be...smaller.

I may just end up using a 50 cent piece as the coin, its too small but still bigger than a minifig. I'll figure it put later anyway. I like the spiderman newspaper idea, reminds me of the Joker/Carnage Batman/Spiderman crossover, which also contained one of my favourite Joker moments ever. I thought of another one now, I'll have Mr.Freeze's freeze gun on display too. Ultimately, the trophy room will be small anyway due to space problems, so I don't have to think of a heap of things.

Well you're far ahead of me, I'm still trying to obtain the oldies (Venom, Best Joker Stories, Dark Victory) let alone anything new. I hear Tower of Babel is good, have you read it?

Well, exactly. It's up there with Optimus Prime and the Batmobile.

Exactly, though I thought you might have mentioned another classic car like the 007 Aston Martin X-D

I don't actually have that dino, so I'm having to settle for this mammoth (no, dinosaur) one. It should look impressive though, being the size it is. As long as it fits, that is. That said though, it's feet only take up a small area (it's tail and body could overhang other areas, like the lab for instance), and it doesn't necessarily have to go in the trophy room, just nearby. Besides, I relish the challenge of making it fit.

Yeah, I think Freeze's gun was on the list too. I've got a lot of small things (except the dinosaur, coin and Joker card), so it shouldn't take up too much room. Is the hope anyway.

I own Tower Of Babel. I picked it up a few years ago for something like £2.99 (ridiculously cheap!). It's good, but then I'm a Justice League fan, so I would say that. It's interesting to see the different reactions to Batman's 'betrayal'.

As for being 'far ahead' I wouldn't say that. I actually own very few TPBs/HCs myself. Apart from all my monthly CE comics, that I mentioned way back, I only own 23 graphic novels currently. I borrow most from the library (surprisingly well stocked, and usually quite up to date), then only buy the ones I really want. IDWs ongoing Transformers series, Infinite Crisis and 52, The Long Halloween (on your recommendation), Heroes online comic collection volume 1, V for Vendetta, and a few others.

A bit off topic for a second, but I love that word: relish. Don't ask, I'm not sure. Anyhoo, I look forward to seeing how yours fits, all I know is that the Batcave being, well, the Batcave, it will take many a redesign before i use all my space effectively and still looking good. I'd put in more trophy items, but ultimately theres a spce issue to consider so planning will do me no good, I'll have to improvise when I make it, which is quite fun I think. Ultimately, it's a real joy to be able to recreate your favourite settings in your favourite toy, so no matter what the challenge it'll be a fun ride.

I'm admittingly not the greatest fan of JL continuity, meaning that while I enjoy their crusades very much I've never really tried to put them into continuity with stand alone Batman stories. That said, I do love their romps when done well, and Ra's Al Ghul is a spectaular villain, I'll have to see if I can get my hands onto it. Plus it has Bats with plans against his trusted friends, what's not to love? *grin*

Well you're far ahead of me, it's only very late last year up to now I even started buying them. Unlike most books I can read them over and again though which is great, so I'm glad I stopped just reading them and added a few to my collection. Next up for me is Year One, which surprisingly I couldn't find yet until my mother found a copy at a store in her university (she decided to go back to study for teaching), so that makes a happy upcoming birthday for me. Plus I'll be getting BTAS vol.2, which contains the great Mad Hatter ep Perchance to Dream, which is a favourite of mine.

Oh... of course *blush*

Just curious while on the topic of my superior 007 knowledge, but are you a fan of the James Bond series?

Also, more on the main topic, curious again, what are your thoughts on the TDK joker wearing makeup? I'm certainly mixed on it..

Ultimately, it's a real joy to be able to recreate your favourite settings in your favourite toy, so no matter what the challenge it'll be a fun ride.

Well, exactly. I mean, it's the Batcave. A lot of people won't know the Fortress of Solitude or the Watchtower or the Baxter Building, but most know the Batcave. It's as much an icon as Batman himself.

The other thing I've got to somehow do is leave enough empty space on the shelf unit at any one time for building of smaller bts and pieces, and storing briecks when they're not yet in use. I can use my desk, but it's at the other end of the room, so it means a lot of to-ing and fro-ing.

And they can be used for reference as well. I'll be digging out as many Batcave pictures as I can find in the comics I have, just for some inspiration.

And if they've got Babs in, well...

Just curious while on the topic of my superior 007 knowledge, but are you a fan of the James Bond series?

Oh yes. Guns, gadgets, girls. It's high action, a bit of campy humour (with the exception of Casino Royale and perhaps a few of the earlier ones), amnd great villains. I have to say, the gadgets are the best bit though. When I get a car, I'm outfitting it with some 'optional extras' *laugh*

Also, more on the main topic, curious again, what are your thoughts on the TDK joker wearing makeup? I'm certainly mixed on it..

It depends. I'd rather have a Joker with stained skin, but if the makeup stays on throughout the film (and we don't see the face underneath), and it doesn't look too much like makeup, then I'm okay with it. To be honest, if he's a good character, he's a good character, regardless of the visuals. And he certainly seems to fit with the film's atmosphere.

And you never know, perhaps the makeup will be stained to his skin at some point.

Exactly, along with the Batmobile of course. So if you manage to make it then it is really something to be proud of, you essentially have an icon that you built in your bedroom.

The other thing I've got to somehow do is leave enough empty space on the shelf unit at any one time for building of smaller bts and pieces, and storing briecks when they're not yet in use. I can use my desk, but it's at the other end of the room, so it means a lot of to-ing and fro-ing.

Yeah, I'm having trouble with storing too. I'll have to buy some more containers, my bley one is so full I can't get the lid on it.

I, on the other hand, am a continuity geek.

I noticed *wink*

Not to say I don't follow continuity, i enjoy knowing when an arc takes place, but ultimately it is the story that comes first for me.

Oh yes, as you've seen with my toe in TLH and DKR. Thats a good idea actually, I think I might check some pictures too, though I'll be trying to infuse a bit of my own creativity into it as well, and also take some inspiration from the animated series.

And if they've got Babs in, well...

Oh dear *look* ...

Yes, great stuff. I actually own the entire original series (21 movies) on VHS, which is kinda strange, but oh well. The gadgets are great too, though some (boat that becomes hovercraft, Moonraker) were a little....odd. Still, I was surprised you didn't just say the bondgirls are best, or is that because of a lack of Babs? *grin*

As for your car, good luck, I hear its harder these days to outfit one with stinger missiles and revolving number plates...

Got bad news for you then, a pic leaked that shows him without makeup dressed as a police officer. It honestly ruined my day at the time, I'll see if I can ruin yours and find it for you... *grin*

As for me, I've always been pro-permawhite, It's essential to the character. You get a lot of people saying that it doesn't matter what he looks like, if he's The Joker he's The Joker, but the chemical bath is what made him what he is. I hardly see how a little scarring could have the same effect. I'll still enjoy the movie no doubt, but I'll be disappointed we haven't seen the true Joker yet.

So's mine. But I should be able to make do until I can deplete the amount of content with the Batcave and Arkham.

Have you noticed though, that in the Batman comics (Batman, Detective Comics, etc.), Batman is considered by many (at least until War Games) to be an 'urban legend'. Yet it is common knowledge that he's been a Justice Leaguer since the beginning. Are the denizens of Gotham obliviopus to the rest of the world or something?

Thats a good idea actually, I think I might check some pictures too, though I'll be trying to infuse a bit of my own creativity into it as well, and also take some inspiration from the animated series.

Oh so will I, but I might borrow some designs from certain comics. For example, there's a rather neat med-scanner in Superman/Batman and Justice League I might try and replicate. It's also good for simply findinbg things to go in the Batcave, rather than for their designs.

The gadgets are great too, though some (boat that becomes hovercraft, Moonraker) were a little....odd.

What? I loved the Bond-ola when I was younger, and I still love it now. The Q-Branch bits were always my favourite-the flame-throwing bagpipes, the ghetto blaster, the airbag-in-a-phonebox...

Still, I was surprised you didn't just say the bondgirls are best, or is that because of a lack of Babs? *grin*

Oh, very funny...

How about an ejector seat?

Got bad news for you then, a pic leaked that shows him without makeup dressed as a police officer. It honestly ruined my day at the time, I'll see if I can ruin yours and find it for you... *grin*

Yeah, I agree. But I'd argue it's actually a combination of the chemical bath and the 'no fixed origin' that makes him Mr J. We don't know who he was before, or at least we don't know which of about three or four origins is true. I read the Lovers and Madmen Batman Confidential arc recently, in my monthly CEs, and I'm not sure I took to it. It was a retelling of the Jokers origin, which is fine (I enjoyed The Man Who Laughs), but he didn't become the Joker until I think the 4th part. So for the first three he was walking round as 'Jack'. Now I know it has been suggested that his real name was Jack before, but this comic seemed to say this was the definitive origin. I just think that took away part of the character.

That, and it ignored the Red Hood part, and conflicted with The Man Who Laughs.

However, the film isn't the comics, so I'll enjoy it for what it is.

On a sidenote, I bought my laptop the other day, and I finally got round to photographing a lot of stuff for uploading. I've not got my wireless internet up yet (still using the home PC), but the photos are on my laptop in the middle of being edited and resized. Bat-MOC 3 and a few other things should be up shortly after I get my internet, which hopefully won't be too long.

Yeah, as much having a lot of one colour, with bley for me it is mostly just plates, so I'll try and use as much of them as I can for my Batcave. I even modded my King's Castle Siege yesterday just to get rid of some excess parts.

Yet it is common knowledge that he's been a Justice Leaguer since the beginning. Are the denizens of Gotham obliviopus to the rest of the world or something?

Yes, that is why, as much as I love JL and "urban" Bats stories, you have to accept the continuity with a grain of salt really. I enjoy finding which story fits where, but one of thegreat things about comic continuity is that it is so loose, which allows different writers to give different interpretations for their stories.

Oh so will I, but I might borrow some designs from certain comics. For example, there's a rather neat med-scanner in Superman/Batman and Justice League I might try and replicate. It's also good for simply findinbg things to go in the Batcave, rather than for their designs.

Yeah, like you say there are great things to add in. I still want to have my own design incorporated, but add in things from various times. I bought Batman: Tales of the Demon yesterday (great read btw), and I really love the Batcomputer and cave look in the "Daughter of the Demon" storyline, visuals matched only by Dennis O'Neill's writing.

I also am now convinced to make the little Whirlybat (gyrocopter) after reading the novel too, it is so cute yet so practical

What? I loved the Bond-ola when I was younger, and I still love it now. The Q-Branch bits were always my favourite-the flame-throwing bagpipes, the ghetto blaster, the airbag-in-a-phonebox...

No! I love the campy Q-gadgets as much as the next guy, but the Bond-ola () was just too far. Oh well, not as bad as Die Another Day atleast...

Still, the Q-lab was also one of my favourites, who can resist good old Q: "And please bring it back in one piece 007!" - he never did.

Oh, very funny...

Revenge IS funny

How about an ejector seat?

As long as it's street legal, go for it

Oh... damn.

Yeah, I agree. But I'd argue it's actually a combination of the chemical bath and the 'no fixed origin' that makes him Mr J. I just think that took away part of the character.

Yeah, I'd agree with you there too, despite the Joker of course having the definitive chemical origin, I don't want to know who he was before. That's one of the things that this movie Joker is letting me down on, if he wears makeup, and even takes it off, that man still exists under there. It reveals him as an ordinary person playing pretend like Batman, where the true joker is what he is, stuck as what he is, and loves what he is, which makes him more frightening and a classic villain.

However, the film isn't the comics, so I'll enjoy it for what it is.

Oh yes of course, as will I, but what I don't like is how the movie is straying further from a Batman interpretation and more into an Elseworlds tale, which is how I'll have to see it.

You know, I think I might have that in an old CE. Hmm, might have to go and have a look.

Funnily enough, I was planning on doing just the same. I tinkerd a little yesterday morning, but couldn't come up with something I liked. I'm determined to make one though.

Oh well, not as bad as Die Another Day atleast...

But... it had a chase between two gadget-filled cars... and one of them was invisible!

Well done mate! Look forward to seeing your stuff, good to know you got a good laptop too!

Undfortunately, i realised after I'd loaded them onto the computer, that there are 318 photos (not all for Bats) I need to sift through. Some are going to be bad, obviously, but that's still a lot to resize.

The only on i'm gonna get is the bat go kart one, I reckon it's pretty cool and a cheap way to get Mr Freeze. When ever I see it I feel like playing Mario Kart  Might make some morio kart Mocs when I buy it. So are these sets out in June?

Good idea actually, I think I might try the bag too, mine are in clear plastic containers I bought from Chickenfeed (super cheap store).

You know, I think I might have that in an old CE. Hmm, might have to go and have a look.

I'd definitely suggest it, it's a great read. Though it doesn't have all his greatest stories, it definitely includes the best ones that really show you his character.

Funnily enough, I was planning on doing just the same. I tinkerd a little yesterday morning, but couldn't come up with something I liked. I'm determined to make one though.

No, just no. Whirlybat is mine, go make your Bat-strike! That's fine really, though rather annoying for me, I thought I had that in mind as an original Lego model. (actually, I'd love to see it as a released Lego set..)

But... it had a chase between two gadget-filled cars... and one of them was invisible!

Nah, give me old fashioned Bond cars any day, invisible was just too far for my liking, as was the impossibly sharp shooting machine guns. That and the badguy's plan went from simply using hovercrafts to get over the minefield to burning them with a satellite using diamonds that reflect off the sun fed into a power rangers suit...

I'll think I'll stick with the good old rocket cigarette (YOLT) and Jetpack (Thunderball)!

Undfortunately, i realised after I'd loaded them onto the computer, that there are 318 photos (not all for Bats) I need to sift through. Some are going to be bad, obviously, but that's still a lot to resize.

Whoa, that's a lot of photos. I still look forward to seeing some though, atleast you have them on the computer now right?

I'm also (Batman Lego related) thinking of making a Tumbler like Wetwire's one (due credit given of course) with those instructions he kindly gave us. I don't have the proper wheels and don't want to order one, so the cockpit will be changed, but luckily I get the proper wheels in the Speed Racer set and star Justice for the rear ones.
