Brainbox Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 As for the upcoming sets, I'm afraid for the Tumbler, it looks hugantic! Great, but hugantic! I'll get it anyway of course, but at the very worse it becomes parts for a smaller Tumbler (like Wetwire's one) and other Batvehicles, or it becomes another Battank like mobile with a few mods. What does everyone else reckon? It is ridiculously big. I can't really say for sure what exactly I'll do with it, but I'd like to keep it as official as possible (save a few much-needed MODs). I'm just scared about trying to fit it into my Batcave. I know it's only a little wider than the Bat-tank, but both of them have to go in, along with many other things... Quote

Yeah, as I said before, worse comes to worse, parts package for a more efficient Tumbler. That said, the Batpod will also have to be downsized for me, I mean, I know the Batvehicles are meant to be big, but strewth! Batbrick Away! Quote

You know, the official Batcycle is actually growing on me a little. Sure, it's not brilliant, but take a look in the instructions for a pic of Batman sat down in/on the bike. Now tell me that doesn't look just a little bit cool. 7884 and 7888 are on S@H Germany And in the UK. Yes! £10 for the Buggy and £40 for the Tumbler. £10 is perhaps more than I would have priced the Buggy at, but considering the size of the thing, £40 for the Tumbler isn't half bad. I hope to be buying these shortly. Quote

Batbrick Posted May 12, 2008 Posted May 12, 2008 7884 and 7888 are on S@H Germany thanks for that info! I just checked the Aus price now, thanks! You know, the official Batcycle is actually growing on me a little. Sure, it's not brilliant, but take a look in the instructions for a pic of Batman sat down in/on the bike. Now tell me that doesn't look just a little bit cool. It is pretty good, but of course I'll still be downsizing it a little, I'll have to find a way to thin those technic pieces... And in the UK. Yes! £10 for the Buggy and £40 for the Tumbler. £10 is perhaps more than I would have priced the Buggy at, but considering the size of the thing, £40 for the Tumbler isn't half bad.I hope to be buying these shortly. Yeah, in Aus it is 18 and 80 dollars, which is about what I expected. Given that the Battank was a smaller or equal set for 120, I'd say this is good i found all the sets today in a store in Greece. Thanks, this is good news. I hope to see some reviews soon Batbrick Away! Quote
The Brick Rat Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 (edited) I found all 4 sets at Walmart today here in Charlotte, NC (bought one of each and 2 of Harley's Hammer Truck). I'll leave reviews to those who can actually post pics of the sets. However, I will give a couple of impressions on the Batcycle set which is the only one I've gotten around to building. Seeing the pics online, I didn't have a favorable view of this set (except for the Harley minifig). Another oversized Bat vehicle and the top of Harley's truck looked unfinished. After building this set I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, the Batcycle is way too big, but it's just plain fun driving Bats around in it. And the hammer truck looks better in person. My only real complaint with it is you really can't hit anything with the giant hammer. It swings down too close to the truck and stops too high up to whack anything. I'll be moding it to a larger hammer with a longer reach. Now for the figs. Remember this pic: It shows Harley with a reversed torso design. When I picked the set up from the shelf the first thing I noticed was Harleys' pic on the box front and top showed her with this reversed torso (the back of the box shows the correct torso printing). The first thing I did when I got to the car was to open the box to check the printing and was happy to find a non-reversed torso. Actually, the torso in the above pic isn't printed incorrectly. Harley's torso has printing on the front and back. Somehow TLC put the arms on backwards, so that the back of the torso is now facing front (note the white lines denoting her waistline - there are no white lines to denote her breasts). This isn't a problem with the set - the arms are on correctly. However, the torso does have a printing flaw. On both my Harleys, the white lines for her waist and breasts are printed on the red portion of the torso, but not on the black portion. At a casual glance it's not a problem, but on closer inspection it looks a bit odd - Harley only has one breast! (actually, I was planning on moding some Harley torsos by removing the white curves so this makes my task easier). Other than that Harley is a great looking minifig. Oh, and Bats looks great too. Edit: Forgot to list Walmart prices: 7884 Buggy: $9.96 7885 Scuba Jet: $19.88 7886 Batcycle: $29.74 7888 Tumbler: $44.84 That Tumbler price is $5.00 off MSRP. Walmart did this with the Creator Beach House also. It was $5.00 off when they first stocked it. After it sold out the price went back to MSRP when it was restocked - so you might want to get the Tumbler sooner than later. Edited May 13, 2008 by The Brick Rat Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 (edited) My dad got the Penguin's submarine and Harley's Hammer truck, the truck for my brother on his birthday yesterday, and the submarine for my birthday on the twelfth of next month. I noticed with some interest that Harley's jester cap came in a special weaker plastic wrapping kinda like the Giant Troll's pieces from the Castle line. The Truck looks cool and the hammer can be used, if you toss a minifig right into the air, as the leg of a pro football star! The Batcycle is neat; it's very sturdy and you can swoosh it quite well. Batman looks great in his new suit! One side note: Harley's truck seemed to veer off left when it's swooshed but that is no doubt because of the hammer. So don't try and push it down a hall way; you will probably ram it into an unintended wall in the process and lose some of the goodys in the box behind the driver's seat. I would not consider this a flaw. I don't recall Harley as the BEST driver out there... And yes, the guns in the set are the original, chewy plastic molds. And here we see a promo pic of the three together...(sorry for the big pic, but EB should resize it. ) Who knows? Maybe this will lead to a review... Or a comic! Or a REVIEW WITH A BUILT IN COMIC! Right after I finish the Lego Indiana Jones demo first... Edited May 13, 2008 by trooperdavinfelth Quote
Dadster Posted May 13, 2008 Posted May 13, 2008 Thanks! Glad to know these sets are out there - wherever there is... Quote

Oky Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 Thanks for the pictures! I really want her... Yeah, me too! But I have to save for the new SW sets. Let's hope we will get a nice little magnet set with her! That would be affordable! BTW, do you know what would be really cool? If there was a set with the Joker that includes a victim of Joker venom featuring a double sided head with one side showing the victim's normal face and the other the Joker-like grin! But I guess that would be to dark fot TLG again. Still, that would be so cool! Quote

But I guess that taking into account Lego approach to The joker with that phrase on the official site "leaving them laughing helplessly while he gets away" (or something like that) they'll never make it.... ) Good day, gentlemen! ) Edited May 14, 2008 by The Penguin Quote
