Thanks, hoping to get it before the end of June, you know, so I can say I've gotten X amount of sets in the first half of the year as a confidence booster that I can get them all! Which Batsets do you have? Batbrick Away! Quote
Big T Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Thanks, hoping to get it before the end of June, you know, so I can say I've gotten X amount of sets in the first half of the year as a confidence booster that I can get them all! Which Batsets do you have? Batbrick Away! Haha yeah I know what you mean, would be kinda cool to line up all your first half purchases and compare them with the eventual second halfers haha. I don't actually have any yet As a kid I loved Batman, but I've only really started getting back into it this year when I saw what Heath did with the Joker (I love the look personally) and as such have been trying to catch up on everything Batman. Started by getting a couple of comics (Batman: Secrets and the Killing Joke) and now I'm investigating what sets. As you've probably worked out by now I want to get the Joker, so the Tumbler was a no brainer, which is why I'm holding off getting the others at the moment. I'd like to get Arkham and if possible the Two Face/Batmobile set as my first buys. After reading the Killing Joke...I'd love to see some sort of Joker carnival set. May have to build my own one a little bit later down the track. Quote
hollisbrick Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 I went to get the batbuggy today but it wasnt at Big W or target so ill go to toyworld tomoz. cant wait til I get my first batman and Mr. Freeze! Quote

As for the Batcave, I got mine for 80 dollars off Ebay (as opposed to the 170 price on Lego site) so you can find some really good deals on that one. Goood job getting into the comics again too, I love the Killing Joke. Yes, I think you are being smart by going for the older sets first, the entire first wave was brilliant, and there is still a couple of Batmobile sets at Birchalls if you wish to look. Batbrick Away! Haha yes... every time I think I'm free from buying Lego, another series drags me in. First it was Star Wars, now it's the combined forces of Indy and Batman haha. Yeah they are the two earlier sets I'm gunning for. The Batcave for $80 nice job. That looks like a cool set but I wouldn't have the room for it lol. I will keep my eyes peeled on Ebay though, and if I have the cash to buy them I shall. Are there really? I couldn't see any Batman sets when I went in there last, do you have to look through the front boxes a bit? Looks like I've got somewhere to go tomorrow haha. Thanks for the tip off lol, and hopefully the Batman/Joker set appears soon Quote
Brainbox Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 Word of note to any UK Bat-fans, the Penguin Sub/Scuba Jet is finally on S@H. Unfortunately, it's on back-order, and won't ship until 11th August. http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Product.aspx?...;cn=39&d=70 Quote

So far I only have the '06 Batsets, but I'm looking to get two or three of this year's. I will probably buy this set in August when it is available, it is a good looking one... And I am a Robin fan. :skull: Quote
Brainbox Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 And I am a Robin fan. And Steph Brown's Robin is a real nice looking (Red) bird. I'm sorry, I really am... Quote

Thanks for the tip off lol, and hopefully the Batman/Joker set appears soon Sorry for the late reply mate! I have the same problem, and most likely it will be worst next year as my collected themes next year will continue (Indy, Castle, Batman, Agents) and new ones will come. Oh well, hope you can get the batcave. Did you find the Two-Face set? It was down the bottom last time I saw, I'm going to the K-Mart sale tonight so hopefully... And Steph Brown's Robin is a real nice looking (Red) bird. I'm sorry, I really am... Oh that was shameful, it really was Batbrick Away! Quote

We don't have to reply straight away all the time! Didn't find the set yet, but I didn't think to look at the bottom, I mainly scanned through the middle area (where sets that size normally lurk) will have to check next time I can get in. Let me know how you go at the sale Quote
The Penguin Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 The official site was updated! ) http://batman.lego.com/en-us/story/default.aspx (THE PENGUINS ARE MECHANICAL!!!!! ) Good day, gentlemen, Quote

Shoc Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 The official site was updated! )http://batman.lego.com/en-us/story/default.aspx (THE PENGUINS ARE MECHANICAL!!!!! ) Good day, gentlemen, I really liek the new design of it! But as Pencoin said, the whole point of what it said was that the penguins were real! :skull: Quote
Numbuh23 Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 I Just Went Over To My Local K-Mart To Look Around The LEGO Aisle, And I Found The Last Mr. Freeze's Escape Set So I Bought It And Review Coming Shortly. Quote
Big T Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 I finally got my first Bat Set. Went to K-mart for their massive sale, and picked up the set with Harley Quinn. Does not dissapoint at all, and the Batcycle is a lot nicer than what I've seen in the pics...it's just so cool. Of course then I realise Myer are having a sale and they have the Town Plan, so I might borrow some cash and buy that while it's on sale. Quote
The Penguin Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 No, no! ) You got me wrong, gentlemen, I did understand that the penguins according to TLC are real, but that sounds just, pardon, stupid. ) 1) Remember the video from the previous version of the site? The one with The Penguin? The penguins loaded themselves as torpedos in the sub. And then exploded! ) No way they could be real! ) 2) Then, real penguins can't hold guns like that. ) 3) Remember the latest, I guess, LBVG gameplay video? There we saw The Penguin taking a penguin out of his top hat and making it blow up some.... thing. ) So the small penguins cannot be REAL! They are MECHANICAL! ) Quote
The Penguin Posted July 6, 2008 Posted July 6, 2008 pardon for double post^ but not to mix things up/ Here's quite an interesting piece of information, though I wouldn't consider it 100% reliable.... ) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lego_Batman:_The_Video_Game Quote
Brainbox Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 You got me wrong, gentlemen, I did understand that the penguins according to TLC are real, but that sounds just, pardon, stupid. ) I don't know. He used real penguins in the comics in the 60s and 70s, and in Batman Returns. All brainwashed and mind-controlled of course. Can you brainwash a penguin? Here's quite an interesting piece of information, though I wouldn't consider it 100% reliable.... ) I read this the other day. Assuming it's entirely, unequivocally true (which it likely isn't) it all sounds very good. I can't wait for this game. Quote
The Penguin Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Can you brainwash a penguin? Of course I can! ) But I just won't do it, because I love penguins too much to turn them into explosives, you know. ) And plus to that I think that mechanical penguins are easier to handle, really.... ) Good day, gentlemen. ) Quote
Batbrick Posted July 9, 2008 Posted July 9, 2008 Oh, I like that they are real penguins Anyway, the site looks good, but I was hoping for profiles on all the characters not just the ones from this lineup. Good job on getting the cycle BigT, sadly the Batmobile set from Birchalls truly is gone, it was on sale too. Batbrick Away! Quote
Big T Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Oh, I like that they are real penguins Anyway, the site looks good, but I was hoping for profiles on all the characters not just the ones from this lineup. Good job on getting the cycle BigT, sadly the Batmobile set from Birchalls truly is gone, it was on sale too. Batbrick Away! Drats. Oh well, with the Town Plan now in my possession, I couldn't have afforded it anyways. Quote
Brainbox Posted July 10, 2008 Posted July 10, 2008 Of course I can! ) But I just won't do it, because I love penguins too much to turn them into explosives, you know. ) That's a good point actually. How can Penguin profess to be a bird lover, then have them risk their lives commiting crimes for him? Still, I prefer TLC having real penguins to having mechanical ones. Quote
The Penguin Posted July 11, 2008 Posted July 11, 2008 Still, I prefer TLC having real penguins to having mechanical ones. Indeed, it is nice that TLC claims that they are real. And I also like it, but why do they make them explosive in the game? Why can't The Penguin, say, blow something up with his umbrella? ) Like he does it in the trailer? But, oh well! ) I guess Tim Berton's image of sadistic and cruel Penguin is still strong.... Good day, gentlemen! ) Quote
