November 22, 200717 yr Well done! It really has an antique feel, now you need to put your "moonshine-machine" on the back of it X-D! I might need to build a truck myself, it's looks great *y*! Truck On copmike
November 22, 200717 yr Wow, that's really great indeed. It reminds me alot of the Kent's truck, from Superman/Smallville 'nd all :-P Very cool *y*
November 22, 200717 yr Very nice - I like the authenticity of it. It looks very much like my uncles old (1920) GMC!
November 22, 200717 yr Signore Phred... Don Vito has asked you if you would want to lend your truck to him. If you refuse you mind find a horse in your bed tomorrow.. A part of it at least... ok, back to normal! Really Phred, this truck reminds me of the Godfather alot! Looks brilliant! According this fine truck I think you're very well capable of making fine oldtimers, any chance you'll be building some of those (soon)? That's an offer you can't refuse, isn't it? :-D
November 22, 200717 yr Eurobricks Emperor So you build ships and.... oldtimers. That's as good a combination as any :-D You certainly have a talent for it because this is a fine vehicle *y*
November 22, 200717 yr Your moc is really nice, it just lake a small thing, the noise of the engine! Very well done with nice details! *y*
November 23, 200717 yr I think it's great! *wub* I also think it would make a good fire truck. *sweet* Nice idea for the head-rests too.
November 23, 200717 yr A very clever design, I had to look closely for a while to figure out how you made the truck bed, but now I see: doorrails and jumperbricks. Good use of those binoculars up front too, all in all a design very well thought through! *y*
November 24, 200717 yr Author Thanx for the compliments guys :-$ I found someone to drive my red truck :-) He went and picked up a Christmas tree and presents for all his grandchildren... What better to get for all his grandchilren, than lego ice cube trays. :-P P Edited November 24, 200717 yr by phred
November 24, 200717 yr I definitly think your MOC looks *sweet* phred. I would agree that this would be a very good start for a 1930's fire truck. I really like how you built the front end. You definitly did a GREAT JOB *y* making it look like a 1930's style truck. Model On!!
November 24, 200717 yr Wow, that front fender is sweet! *wub* Very smart part use Phred, but i still like to see that constitution... :-P
November 29, 200717 yr Author With the continuing wait for may BL order to continue construction of my constitution, I've turned my red truck into a fire truck and finished the exterior of my coffee shop (although i don't like all the red |-/ ) Every town needs a coffee shop X-D Here be the pics: The uniforms of the firemen seem similar to the style of my truck. Fire Uniform of Homeville FD in 1927 P Edited November 29, 200717 yr by phred
November 30, 200717 yr *wub* It does work very well as a fire engine... although I do prefer it as a truck. However, I am not a big fan of old-firetrucks anyway so my opinion is worthless! :-P The crew are pretty cool too! :-P (I don't like your control panel piece selection though...)
November 30, 200717 yr Let me start by saying 6 wide on!! >:-) Yes!! Great ruck phred, thanks for sharing. I really like the adjustments for the fire truck too. It seems like the old fire trucks from the black and white Disney cartoons. :-D :-D Does anyone else remember those? :-$ Either way, you captured the antique pick-up feeling perfectly. I may "borrow" a couple of your techniques to make something similar. It's really impressive and I'm happy to see you posting in the Town forum! You're a great builder and I'm glad you share your creations with us. Looking forward to more. *sweet* *y*
November 30, 200717 yr Author Thanx for the compliments :-$ ...(I don't like your control panel piece selection though...) I don't like it much either, but my choices were limited, so i used the control panel from the millennium falcon ;-) Do you have any in mind? I don't have a lot of options available, but i'll probably get something else on my next BL order. Now that my order for my constitution is here, i can continue construction, but i did manage to finish my Divco Milk Truck. X-D I didn't quite have all the doors i needed so i improvised. Also, i really don't know what kind of doors are available (like if a 1x3 4 bricks high door exists |-/ ). If you've got suggestions, let me know X-D Well first off here's a thumblink of an actual Divco Delivery Truck that i based my truck off of and some milkmen: Now here're some pics of my version X-D I used Sting's sig-fig as the milkman, would like to get a different white torso with a bow tie: And the whole "Old timer" gang: Whacha think? P Edited November 30, 200717 yr by phred
November 30, 200717 yr This is even more awesome!!! I love it... This is what original sets should be like... MOC ON!
November 30, 200717 yr Author A very charming truck indeed with a great hood and bumper design! :'-) ...Good use of those binoculars up front too, all in all a design very well thought through! ... Thanx, I borrowed the bumper design from my Warthog :-D This is even more awesome!!! I love it...This is what original sets should be like... MOC ON! I agree! What little kid wouldn't want a Milk Truck and an old timer firetruck? *y* BTW: Does anybody have any good designs for a firehydrant? :'-) Feel free to post pics or links in this thread, i'm not a big fan of the way mine turned out |-/ P Edited November 30, 200717 yr by phred
December 1, 200717 yr Cool, you did a great job with these *y* ! The fire truck is my favorite out of the pair. I agree! What little kid wouldn't want a Milk Truck and an old timer firetruck? thumbup.gifWhen I was little I had a couple of die cast metal Edwardian era vehicles, I think they were called "matchbook" vehicles but I'm not sure. I actually did have a horse drawn milk truck and horse drawn fire engine :-), as well as an early motorcar.
December 1, 200717 yr Now that my order for my constitution is here, i can continue construction, but i did manage to finish my Divco Milk Truck. X-D I really love this one and it's made quite smart too! *wub* I think this is much better than the fire truck. The use of half-stud offsets really help make it look rounder. Great work! Do you have any in mind? I tend to use just the 1x1 gauge piece.
