oo7 Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 Awesome five-wide building there Phred, that really takes some skill! *y* Plus it allows the 3 wide door to fit in very well. I really love the nostalgia of the milk wagon, in fact my great grandfather drove one every morning for a good while to make a living at the time. :-) BTW: Does anybody have any good designs for a firehydrant? :'-) Feel free to post pics or links in this thread, i'm not a big fan of the way mine turned out |-/ Perhaps you would prefer the look of a 2x2 hydrant? I tend to use just the 1x1 gauge piece. Either that or this one, I'd say. Quote
Capn Frank Posted December 2, 2007 Author Posted December 2, 2007 (edited) Thanx fer da compliments again guys *sweet* Kinda wish TLG made a 5 wide windshield *y* ...I tend to use just the 1x1 gauge piece. Like this one i'm assuming ...Either that or this one, I'd say. ... I didn't know about this one. Thanx Double-O *y* Hopefully the next BL store i buy from has one of these two types of tiles, thanx guys :-) ...Perhaps you would prefer the look of a 2x2 hydrant? ... Thanx, i was wondering what set that hydrant was in *y* I don't know about its though |-/ I'll have to ponder this during my coffee shop construction. X-D P Edited December 2, 2007 by phred Quote
Siegfried Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Kinda wish TLG made a 5 wide windshield *y* So do I! I also want more three high ones... Like this one i'm assuming Yes. I think it's the only 1x1 gauge piece and thats why I was lazy and didn't give a pic... :-$ Either that or this one, I'd say. Yeah, that one is on my Bricklink list already. *wub* Quote
Hinckley Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Phred, these trucks are so great. I think they each deserve an extra thread. I know you'd like them all in one place, but I hope people are seeing them all as the thread gets longer. My fear is that people will assume we're still discussing the first truck and not stop by and see the others. Maybe you can just edit your first post to show all three trucks... But I would encourage you to start a thread for each. They're that cool... *sweet* Quote

I think it's the only 1x1 gauge piece and thats why I was lazy and didn't give a pic... :-$ No worries X-D Yeah, that one is on my Bricklink list already. *wub* Maybe i'll just get both then, and compare X-D The 1x2 gauge seems much more rare being in only one set and all 8-| ...My fear is that people will assume we're still discussing the first truck and not stop by and see the others. Maybe you can just edit your first post to show all three trucks ... Thanx Hinckley :-$ I edited the first post to show the 3 trucks in this thread I'm sure ppl know there's more than one truck in this thread now that it's re-titled Antique Trucks X-D At this point i think it's ok to keep them all in one thread with the summary of pics in the first post now. I just don't want to clutter up the town (and trains ;-) ) forum with small threads of the Down the road if i make more antiques, i'll just make a new thread then. P Quote
alex54 Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 Your milk truck looks very nice too! Great job! And the 5-wide proportion is very well used! The milk truck with a "milk boy" has always make me smile! When I was younger, I found the fact that someone brings us your milk at your door very stange... What a strange idea! Someone can come and steal your milk! Quote

Brickadier General Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 These are all quite good. They definitely have that vintage look, and with 6-wide you are able to bring out more details. I've actually seen some nice antique cars that used minifig seats on their sides as "rims" (the real name eludes me). Perhaps you could try this technique in a future car? Quote
iamded Posted January 15, 2008 Posted January 15, 2008 Awesome trucks! My favourite would have to be... um... well, they're all great! But I guess the milk truck, as it just looks very neat, and is a break from the others, colour wise. :-D Though red does look great on the other two... oh, I don't know! 8-| They're all awesome! X-D *y* *y* ~Peace Quote

Do you mean using M-F seats as wheel wells? 8-| That might look pretty cool. *sweet* I'll have to experiment with my seats, thanx again. Awesome trucks! Barbossa Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Wow, your vehicles look awesome! Great design for all of them, I especially liked your milk truck. Keep up the good work! :-) Quote
