psqidexslizer248 Posted March 28, 2016 Posted March 28, 2016 (edited) A script where apparently Batman and Superman's reason for agreeing to join forces is because their mothers both shared the same first name in Martha cannot be genius IMO. Honestly, I thought that first at too but then when I saw it again, I realized. It's not the fact that they share the same name, although that it is important. It's the same name that causes Bruce to want to help Clark instead of fight him. When Clark is deliriously crying Martha's name, Bruce remembers his mother's death (shown in the flashbacks) because of how similar it was to his father was delirious calling out his mother's name. Instead of seeing Clark as the threat he was before, he sees him as a child helpless to save his mother, just as Bruce once was helpless to save his own. In a way, he is given a chance to redeem himself for not saving his Martha by saving Clark's Martha. That's killer croc.... Sorry, my mistake. The coloring threw me off. Tech Artist Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Maybe they haven't finished animating LEGO water yet so they replaced it with LEGO water? Or maybe that particular effect isn't in the budget. I'm not sure if this movie has as big a budget as TLM. I'm hoping that becomes Lego Water. Quote
BluePulse Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 I hope that all the returning characters (ie superman, green lantern, and wonderwoman) use the same voice actors. loved channing tatum and jonah hill  . anyways Im kind of hoping that this movie strays away from references to the Lego movie, i get that its in the same universe but i feel it deserves to be its own story. like a story that pre dates president buisness, man upstairs, emmett and wildstyle, maybe im alone but i dont need to hear about masterbuilders and a bigger lego universe. i just want to see a story in the confines of DC. though i would accept a little easter egg or something at the end. maybe him breaking through a wall to another realm (is that what their called?) and meeting wildstyle. id be ok with something like that. but for the most part i think the lego batman movie should be a lego batman movie. though itd be hard to see them not throwing in little nods or quips here and there about the larger universe, since they already kinda did in the opening sequences of the trailers. just nothing to enormous. keep it subtly lego. keep it subtle. But on the whole im enormously excited to see the world of batman in lego brought to life since the 2006 sets were what mostly brought me into lego, having grown up on the old batman shows and movies. the sets were able to mimic that dark kind of gothic feel the tim burton movies and animated series had so i hope this movie can pull that off too Quote
legonerd54321 Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 (edited) I'm pretty sure that this is probably wrong, but in the background of the 2nd trailer during the montage, it sounds like a new theme song for this movie. I haven't heard any other song like it. EDIT: It has been solved. Edited March 29, 2016 by legonerd54321 Quote
tafkatb Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 The song is "We Ridin'" by V.I.C. feat. Hurricane Chris. (I hadn't actually heard it before either, but there's a nifty little website called whosampled.com where you can look up tracks by what songs they sample or remix.) Quote

I really hope they only use the chorus as the main verses have absolutely nothing to do with Batman. This song other than his name and the trademark "na na na na na na" are all that even relates to Batman. Quote
Soupperson1 Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Harley and Ivy's hair look to be from DC superhero girls Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Soupperson, nice catch! That frees up some more molds for originating with the movie, and gives a first look at something I've been curious about. Tech Artist, songs in teaser trailers aren't gonna be used in the movie in any capacity. Quote

8BrickMario Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 (edited) What's up with that Two-Face? Is it new, does it have a comics precedent, or is it not even Dent. but another villain? Also, I really appreciate the new character designs, like Harley and Catwoman, rather than reusing the physical stuff or previous comic material. The top hat piece feels very Burtonian to me, which is a good thing. I like how it dwarfs Penguin himself! Edited April 3, 2016 by 8BrickMario Quote
BaneShake Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 What's up with that Two-Face? Is it new, does it have a comics precedent, or is it not even Dent. but another villain? The scarred half is designed to look like half-melted plastic, most likely, and there is speculation that the good half is modeled after Billy Dee Williams, who played Harvey Dent in Batman '89, but was replaced by Tommy Lee Jones as Two-Face himself. This could be a roundabout way to actually see a Billy Dee Two-Face. Quote
gamejutzu Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 That is the weirdest big-fig ever... What even is it? The only clue I can see as to what it is, it the spikes on it's back. Could it be Killer Croc? But then why is he... Not green? And has dots? Quote

Could it be Killer Croc? But then why is he... Not green? And has dots? I think it is Croc, but with a more crocodile-shaped head instead of a human one (some artists draw him that way). He's probably the same Hulk-green this year's upcoming Croc will be in, which in this lighting, looks very not-green. As for the dots, uh... he caught measles? Quote
8BrickMario Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 Croc's spots are likely scale detailing. I really have high expectations for the sets, but I'm hoping I'm not let down. Ideally, we'd get all of the rogues we've seen exactly as shown. I hope there's an adherence to physical parts, meaning that anyone with a new piece would be made physically. Quote

BaneShake Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Interesting theory. And not entirely implausible, considering they already managed to get Billy Dee Williams to reprise his role as Lando in The Lego Movie... That's the big reason this theory feels plausible. All we need is a cast list or some high-def images to give us more of a confirmation or not. Quote
8BrickMario Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 If Two-Face really is supposed to be melted plastic, then that's a brilliant way of incorporating the physical aspect of LEGO into his character. Perhaps the old twist is coming back, and he's one of the hints/reminders that these things actually exist. Quote

I love being able to look closely at a film and think 'Oh look, there's X'. Quote
BaneShake Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 I have the feeling this movie won't outright have the twist incorporated, but I can almost guarantee there will be clever allusions to it throughout. I wonder if we're going to see general yellow minifigs anywhere, possibly including preexisting characters (a la Johnny Thunder), or if they'll all be DC-related. For that matter, will the civilians be flesh-tones or yellow? Quote
