LEGODalekbuster523 Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 I have the feeling this movie won't outright have the twist incorporated, but I can almost guarantee there will be clever allusions to it throughout. I wonder if we're going to see general yellow minifigs anywhere, possibly including preexisting characters (a la Johnny Thunder), or if they'll all be DC-related. For that matter, will the civilians be flesh-tones or yellow? Flesh tone I'd imagine, given it's a licensed theme. Quote
8BrickMario Posted April 7, 2016 Posted April 7, 2016 Flesh tone I'd imagine, given it's a licensed theme. I wouldn't put it past them to include a yellow minifigure somewhere, though, as this movie is seemingly self-contained, but set in the same universe as The LEGO Movie. Quote
Actor Builder Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 I'm expecting some of both. Or perhaps based on the available sets there will not be many civilians, just a bunch of Batmans and Gandalfs and Iron Mans. Quote
gamejutzu Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 Iron Man. lol anyway Has anyone thought of how this movie might not only refrence the live-action Batman, but ALL Batmen? TV shows, video games, even some comics. There'll be a lot to reference if they do this. Quote

gamejutzu Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 I wouldn't put it past them to have an Adam West cameo. Maybe even a cameo to the Arkham games, like the Joker being sick, or slamming the batmobile into someone, or gadgets from the game like the ice-grenades. Quote
CM4Sci Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Apparently there was new footage shown at something called CinemaXon explaining Robin's origin story. Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 And here's one person's account of what goes on in it: http://io9.gizmodo.com/robin-has-a-hilarious-entrance-in-the-lego-batman-movie-1770803796 Quote
BaneShake Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 I'm excited to see if we get a new version of Robin in this. I know we already have several (8, if I'm not mistaken), but new is preferable to repeats. Quote
tafkatb Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 Given what we've seen of other characters, I'd say it's a guarantee Robin will be getting a redesign as well. Quote

My only hesitancy is that most of the heroes are preexisting designs, bar Green Arrow. Since Robin will probably have a bigger role than the other leaguers, though, I'm not too concerned. Quote

CM4Sci Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 I would love it if he had some kind of involvement with the movie - I loved his videos when I was younger, too bad he hasn't been putting them out lately. Quote

It would be fantastic if he had a small cameo...but if I'm remembering his videos correctly they're not exactly Lego target audience material. Quote

Cobb Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Someone pointed this out, the water he flies over at the end is real water instead of LEGO water like in TLM. ?? Maybe they use a dimensions portal to travel through the real world. Quote
Lyichir Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Maybe they use a dimensions portal to travel through the real world. I think it's more likely that the "builder" of Lego Gotham (whether that's The Man Upstairs, Finn, or someone else) is one of those sorts of MOCists who sometimes works in actual water features instead of just a brick-built base. Even in The Lego Movie there were real-world "relics" that weren't built out of Lego, so it's not a huge stretch to extend that to actual H2O. Quote

Or a design choice. Or the brick water wasn't ready to be shown yet, so they temporarily went with a pre-existing water animation. Or a space-wizard did it. Quote

Japanbuilder Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 Or it is a place holder effect. I imagine it takes quite a bit of time to fully animate a feature made of CG LEGO bricks =) Quote

Robert8 Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 (edited) There are some new details regarding what we can expect to see from The LEGO Batman Movie. Producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller in a recent interview with Collider has given some little tidbids about the movie. First, there are no limits to what eras of Batman will be covered. They also stated that the movie is pretty much a 90-minute Easter egg and it covers anything up to Batman v Superman as well as the future of Batman, whatever that means. The LEGO Batman Movie won’t be out for quite a while so we can expect many more little teasers and tidbids of it until then. Hopefully, we’ll get to see something for it from San Diego Comic Con next month. Source: The Brick Fan Edited June 29, 2016 by Robert8 Quote
