gamejutzu Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 Is L-Loyd going to be a running joke now? Interested to see the rest of the villains, hoping to see the Overlord but at the same time I want that to be saved for the show... Am I the only one who thinks something is going to happen to Zane? Plot twist, death, just something happening to Zane. He's too... that. Quote

BubbaFit45531 Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 Weird that it seems Zane is stuck with the village idiot look on his face the whole time. Nice to see CMF series characters in the movie. Garmaddon looks pretty good. I hope the emphasis isn't snotty teenager hates parent. Quote
GentlemanJoker Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 This looks absolutely brilliant! I personally don't mind Zane's zany expression (sorry couldn't help myself). I'm most excited for a set of Garmadon's awesome shark thing! Quote

It's possible that both Wu and Garmadon will be younger in the film to clear up some of the complications about Lloyd's age (since he's Garmadon's son and Wu's nephew). 17 hours ago, BubbaFit45531 said: Two new pics. Garmaddon wears a cloth bib as he chases Wu wearing a cloth skirt in the forest. Lloyd looking like Anakin Skywalker holding a black and green ninja hood. Do they make dual molded headwear? Yep. The two-colored ninja hoods from the past two years of Ninjago sets have been dual-molded. So have some "hat and hair" pieces like Barbara Gordon's hair from the LEGO Batman Movie collectible minifigures or Gail the construction worker's hair from The LEGO Movie minifigures. Quote
GentlemanJoker Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 Is it just me or are the ninja masks two pieces, similar to Ultron's headgear? Quote

I wouldn't say those are not the CMFs The Hot Dog Man's face is different And the S16 Babysitter was replaced. This probably means the whole thing is Finn playing (again) Gezz... that kid has a lot of imagination Edited February 9, 2017 by Robert8 Quote
makoy Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 The buildings are just awesome. If I have all the bricks, time and resources now I will reverse engineer the builds used in the movie. I find it more interesting than Brickburg. Quote
BrickFit26 Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 I liked the trailers, except for the song. I can just imagine what the sets are going to look like. Quote
PenPlays Posted February 9, 2017 Author Posted February 9, 2017 *Indecipherable screeching noises* Oh my goodness does this movie have so many wonderful things going for it! The characters look great (Zane better not be smiley like that the entire time). Story premise looks simple and fun. But... But the Mecha THE GIANT MECHA!! Also, regarding TLNM's setting... (Lego Batman Movie Spoilers below. Seriously.) Spoiler Finn is most likely a one and done thing. Don't expect him to show up in further movies, unless they really intend to hit him with the Dark Ages in TLM2. TLBM has nothing to do with the human world. The only thing even referenced in TLBM from TLM is the Infinite Abyss of Nothingness and even then, no one falls into it. Source: Saw a press screening of TLBM Quote
npgcole Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 ANYWAY, I think the trailer looks amazing. I haven't been a Ninjago fan for a while now. I used to love it, and I watched the first couple seasons of the show, but then kinda lost interest around the time when they "rebooted" it. That being said, I am SUPER excited for this movie, with Garmadon and the father vs. son story that brings me back to the days when I watched Ninjago, the humour, and the characters' new looks being fantastic. I'm definitely okay with "LEGO Cinematic Universe" being a thing. Quote
Master_Data Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 It's not classic Ninjago, but it still looks fun. To top it all off, they didn't wreck Jay! Wonder how they're going to pull off Cole's mech... Quote

But I agree, I think they might keep the asthetic of it being kids playing, but repeating the same thing in every movie would get REAL old. Quote
rodiziorobs Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Ugh that awful music. I'm already not a fan of Taylor Swift but that song probably the least-musical thing she has ever done. Like, I want to watch the trailer again, but at the same time I really don't want to because of that song. However, the movie looks great, and the animation superb. I did a double-take at that gorgeous flying shot of Lloyd's dragon. Some of the jokes seemed a little contrived, though, but not enough to be off-putting. Here's to hoping that the next trailer is easier on the ears. Quote

Source: Saw a press screening of TLBM Spoiler But keep in mind that unlike Batman movie, a good part of this movie seems to be in human enviroment - real grass, real sand, real bushes, even real stones. All that can be done in Lego, but for some reason they decided to do it in real world instead. Quote
BubbaFit45531 Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 TV Jay is my favorite character because he's always overreacting and being a worry wart. His hair is also nice along with Cole's. Movie Jay could do without freckles and weird hair and toned down personality. Quote

Well, it does, but I think that's the only real thing? In TLNM there are shots in fully real enviroments, and lots of solid objects are real. That being said, I hope I'm wrong about this because the human story would be out of place in a Ninjago movie, actually in any Lego movie other than the sequel to the original. Also, is it explained why the water in TLBM is real? I remember I read it's because the movie takes place in some convention in real world where Batman sets were displayed, but for some reason I doubt that's true. Quote
makoy Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 I don't know why it is an issue if TLNM does not use bricks and studs in all objects and environment. These things had been discussed by the creative minds who designed the aesthetic of the movie in great length and I am personally glad that the animation style is not a total repeat of what we have seen in TLM and TLBM. This movie uses a lot more smear frames (in-between frames to make up the motion blurs) that are made of LEGO pieces. On its own I think it is a great "feature" of the animation style. Also the real water effect would take more polygons and therefore more computer power to render so before anyone says that the animators are just being lazy to use bricks and studs, that's the counter-argument already. The same can be said about the other plants and organic elements found in the movie. The movie is just aesthetically different. Quote
Savage Oppress Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 Which Lego Dimensions villains or heroes are we getting in The Lego Ninjago Movie, since The Lego Batman Movie had Spoiler Voldemort, Eye of Sauron, Daleks, Gremlins, and Wicked Witch of the West. Quote

MrHerofan Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 Well after seeing this trailer I am more excited to see this film than I was for TLM and TLBM. This movie just seems like it's going to be fun, and it looks like the sets we'll be getting are going to be pretty cool. I haven't really followed Ninjago since the stone army stuff from 2013, but I know Garmadon isn't the main antagonist anymore in the show. So seeing Garmadon as the main antagonist again as well as fighting Wu really brought back memories from when Ninjago was first coming out. I'm personally excited for this movie now and will most likely go and see it. Quote
gamejutzu Posted February 12, 2017 Posted February 12, 2017 (edited) I think i'm gonna have a good laugh whenever we get the second trailer and people see the highschool aspect of the movie Also, I really hope we get a verbal reference to Exo-Force regarding those mechs. Everyone think's it's Transformers-esque. Edited February 12, 2017 by gamejutzu Quote
