It isn't completely Transformers-esque though. A lot of this stuff is based on other things. Either way, I just want people to realize that.

I know, it's just even I instantly thought of Scavenger from Revenge of the Fallen the moment I saw Cole's mech. It's the one wheel.

Simply put, there is nothing new under the sun. Anything created now is almost always inspired by something else.

Which Lego Dimensions villains or heroes are we getting in The Lego Ninjago Movie, since The Lego Batman Movie had

Hi. Please use spoiler tags to hide essential information...aka spoilers.

The scene from the trailer when LLoyd fights shark people with a fridge instantly reminded me of this Rumble in the Bronx scene with Jackie Chan. Since Jackie Chan and his stunt team filmed fighting for the movie, I think we can expect lots of references to Jackie Chan's famous films.

-snip-

The stunt does mimic some of Jackie Chan's moves but the fight scene in TLNM with the fridge is much more 'sophisticated'. I also read that Jackie Chan's stunt team did stunts for the movie... and even though it is not motion-capture, I think they use the stunts to guide the animators how tho choreograph the fight scenes.

Yes, this was my point actually.

This is reminding me of the Landmaster from the Star Fox series. Not only does it have tank treads, it even has Asian-esque symbols on it like the Landmaster!

Wow - yeah, they're really similar. Huh, that's interesting. Really looking forward to seeing it in a set!

Here's a question: Do you think Billy Dee Williams will come back for this one? The obvious problem is no one in Ninjago has a confirmed race; my original thought was Dareth, but casting an African-American as the "Brown Ninja" would do the opposite of going over well.

Well, in both previous movies he was reprising roles he's played before, so... I dunno, maybe they'll work in a crossover with General Hospital: Night Shift?

Well, he doesn't need to be called the "brown ninja".

Just realized something: they're going to make a LEGO Dimensions pack for this. Dang, I was really hoping there'd be a full Ninjago console game, but if Batman's not getting a game, Ninjago won't.

In addition to the confirmation that we're not getting a story pack for Dimensions, the mere fact that there HASN'T been a full Ninjago console game (unlike Batman, who has already gotten several) before could be reason to believe that we might get one for this movie. Of course, if that were to happen we probably would have heard about it by now...

Well, then.. that is either a good (Ninjago console game) or a bad thing (absolutely nothing).

I binged watched Ninjago and liked it. Am about to start Season 6. I'm itching to buy the 3DS Ninjago Shadow of Ronin videogame partly because I suspect the soundtrack is something I'll like. I'm also itching to buy whatever Lego Dimensions Ninjago characters I don't have yet if I see them cheap. I'd love a PS4 Ninjago video game or Lego Dimensions Story Pack/Level Pack.

The full "The Master" short appeared online, and it's looking good. I like how they poke at the movie at the end.

Spoiler

Also, at around 3 minutes Sensei Wu starts using Nya's exact weapon. That's funny, since we would only know that weapon had significance months later.

In the Lego Batman Movie, Joker flashes Lloyd AND Kai's hairpiece for a split second! It's when Joker surrenders and Barbra blasts her speaker in his face.

Did anyone else notice this?

He spits? Ewww.

I don't know if you're seriously capable of recollecting split-second detail from a movie unless you have a copy now? For all I care, it's just smear frame in the animation.

But to answer the question -- nope, I didn't notice it.

I don't have a copy. I really like animation, so I love to soak in every detail. I really like when characters in Lego movies change hair pieces to imitate motion, I think it's a first in Lego animation honestly.

When I saw it, to me it was just some weird hair. But now I realized it's Kai and Lloyd's hair from the Lego movie, in the same moment! I'm wondering if that's coincidental.
