medib Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 I got a Renagade Runner in the mail today and I was very happy with the hull sections. I can't wait to put the set together. Another pirate set to add to my collection. Arrrrrrgh.... :D Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 25, 2005 Governor Posted April 25, 2005 That happened to me once! Only several days prior its arrival I won it on eBay. What were the circumstances that caused your Renegade Runner? to arrive in the mail? Quote
medib Posted April 25, 2005 Author Posted April 25, 2005 One word = E(vil)-Bay! Arrrggghhh..... shiver me timbers!!! Ben M. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 25, 2005 Governor Posted April 25, 2005 And why do you call it E(vil)-Bay which actually makes it two words? Quote
medib Posted April 27, 2005 Author Posted April 27, 2005 A wise guy.... it has the colon so that makes it a compound word. If you know the bricklink story like I do, it was once called "Brickbay". Ebay sued or threatened to sue Brickbay to change because it sounded like their name. Ergo.... Evil-Bay. Ben Medinets Quote
Vader Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 Ahh yes i remember those days, i still laugh when i think of all the trouble e-bay went to just to stop bricklinks original name. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 27, 2005 Governor Posted April 27, 2005 Yeah I'm too wise for my own good. And nobody likes a wise guy! Instead of polluting this thread I've created the Is Evil-Bay one or two words... thread to carry the debate further... And no! I've never heard the story of BrickLink being called BrickBay - this is the first I've ever heard of it. Fascinating! Do you have a link to the auction from which you won your Regenegade Runner? I'm curious to know how much it ended up costing and where it came from. Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted April 27, 2005 Posted April 27, 2005 I remeber brickbay. And why do you want to know whether evilbay is one or two words? Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 27, 2005 Governor Posted April 27, 2005 In the interest of linguistic correctness! However, I've created a thread especially for the purposes for discussing that so direct your comments there so we can keep this thread on topic. Quote
The Middleman Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 I don't see why ebay complained - it didn't detract from their business. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 28, 2005 Governor Posted April 28, 2005 Has this thread gone off topic yet? Quote
ApophisV Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 Has this thread gone off topic yet? phes, please quit with commenting off topic problems at almost every of your posts! This is going nowhere, it doesn't make you happier and you just risk even more discussions about this! So look at the other thread I posted for telling you details about our future plans and comment there if you like to! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 28, 2005 Governor Posted April 28, 2005 There's only 3 such comments and I average 20 posts a day, besides, it makes me happy to know how many others are guilty of going off topic including moderators! Anyhow, getting back on topic I have this question for Ben: Do you have a link to the auction from which you won your Regenegade Runner? I'm curious to know how much it ended up costing and where it came from. If you're willing to share. Quote
medib Posted April 29, 2005 Author Posted April 29, 2005 Pirate Ship from E-bay = Ebay Auction Link I hope that works.... if not... I got the set for $25.00 US. Thanks, Ben Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted April 29, 2005 Governor Posted April 29, 2005 For some strange reason the link kept diverting me to Microsoft.com - I have no idea why it was doing this. But no matter I took the item number and searched eBay for it and have found the correct link: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...item=5966560292 Thanks Mr Medib! That's about the price I paid for mine. Do you plan to get more Pirate LEGO ships in the future? Quote
medib Posted May 7, 2005 Author Posted May 7, 2005 Do mice like Cheese (or peanut butter)? :-D Of course, I'm going to buy more pirate sets.... I bought the runner for a larger ship for my pirate crew for Evil Stevie's Pirate Game. Now, I need to modify/personalize it and come up with a real kick-butt sail design. I also have 15 Emperor's ships ready for sell/use for ESPG. *glasses* Ben Medinets Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 7, 2005 Governor Posted May 7, 2005 Where do you play Evil Stevie's Pirate game and is it any good? Quote
medib Posted May 7, 2005 Author Posted May 7, 2005 Unfortunately, the only place I get to play Evil Stevie's Pirate Game is at Brickfest. Evil Stevie's Pirate Game Good? IT'S GREAATTT!!!! :-D Evil Stevie's Pirate Game Brickfest 2003 Photos Enjoy!!! Ben Medinets Quote
Darth_Ewok Posted May 7, 2005 Posted May 7, 2005 Interesting, I have never heard of this "evil stevies pirate game" could it be adapted for space pirates? (I don't have a single pirate set) Quote
