Posted March 27, 20168 yr Hey Guys,i need some Advice on this one. I`m planning this futuristic Garbage Truck for my imaginative Lego City-Future Theme. The Bodywork is pretty much done and i think it is recognizeale as a Garbage Truck. The two large orange Pieces are already in my Parts Bin and all the little Bits might be in there too.Maybe some Bricks need to be bricklinked or i need to buy them in the little Lego Shop in my Hometown. I`m still not sure how to make this Big Boy hover above the Ground.I would love to use something that fits in the Wheel Wells and only sticks out a little bit, you know, classic sci fi Hovercar Stuff. Maybe some shiftable Dishes or Pods. Feel free to share any Ideas.I also added the lxf File so you can poke around a little bit.Maybe you might have some Ideas to improve the whole Thing.I like it very much, but i still think something is missing.Something catchy....like a Push Bar or Guard Rails.... Any Idea would be much apprechiated. The rounded Rearend calls for a Nickname...Hunchback maybe?Still not happy with the lower rear End (behind the rear Fenders) Scifi-Garbage Hauler.lxf
March 28, 20168 yr Flickr builder Galaktek also has a Future City MOC theme, and he has a pretty nifty hover-pod design using the classic car wheel wells: https://www.flickr.com/photos/galaktek/14042824009/in/album-72157644764487283/ Check out all of his Future City stuff, it's a masterclass in building!
March 28, 20168 yr I like where this design is going! I played around with the rear and the hover boosters, but I didn't do anything with the underside. Here's my modded version.
March 29, 20168 yr I'm so in luff with this thing, it's pretty cute for a garbage truck. And if you go that legged route it would definitely be dubbed "the dungbeetle" by everyone and their space grandmas haha I'd get rid of the mudguards and go with a more industrial design for the hoverpods, with the rear pods being longer as a throwback to garbage trucks having two rear axles. Then again, it's very bug-like, which is why those suggested legs work so well.
April 4, 20168 yr How about the Dung Beattle for a name :) Anyway, nice design, it reminds me of a little version of the garbage vehicles from Blade Runner. I would go for wheels, I think it would be more realistic for a heavy vehicle like this, and I imagine they would have waste chutes in the future, do no need to fly.
April 6, 20168 yr Author Well,i guess it`s pretty much finished. The "Dungbeetle" (i really love that Nickname) is floating on Hoverpods but it still got a lot of Changes and remakes. If you want you can check it out here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=116820&st=0&gopid=2525176entry2525176
April 7, 20168 yr Dungbeetle! I love it! It looks the part if you know what I mean. Is it going to remain blank or do you have decal/sticker ambitions for it? I feel like some of the sticker patterns from the Mars Mission theme would be appropriate...
April 7, 20168 yr It looks really great built in bricks :) and the stickers suit it! I like how the front looks with the grills angled the other way, instead of how they were in the LDD. Nice looking crew as well!
