Dreamweb Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 I for one find these very appealing. Definitely going to get some of them. I mean, who wouldn't want to have a LEGO Donald Duck? I hope we will get the Rescue Rangers in series two. And Scrooge McDuck. Man, that would be awesome. Quote
Phyre Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Overall, I like them more than I had originally expected too. I also see that some of the minifigures on the original list that was floating around aren't present (the Inside Out characters are the ones that come to mind). I think it's a very nice assortment, and I'll definitely be picking up a set. Lots of potential for fantasy stuff. Maleficent is the one that especially stands out to me. Not sure why they went with a regular minifig head for Buzz, the original looked so much better, but maybe they just wanted to give all the figures a similar look, seeing as the rest of them (aside from creatures) have regular heads. Quote
LEGODalekbuster523 Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Ohhhhhh Goofy will be exclusive to that set..... Like Snake last year I'm calling it Nah, probably more likely Cinderella. Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 I know people have mentioned this before but Donald and Daisy's head would be good for Howard the Duck (a Marvel character) I don't think that would work. For one, this head is too specifically, clearly recognizable as Donald; Howard's appearance has varied extensively over the years, but it's never been entirely Donald-like. For another, it's just too large. For this series, the figures are at different scales, which is fine for a Minifigures series, but if they were going to do Howard, they'd surely design him for use with other, existing Marvel figures. Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 I imagine if they ever do sets for The Incredibles (which is quite possible - there's a sequel coming, after all), they might revisit him as a bigfig. Quote

CM4Sci Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 I highly doubt that. Hulk sized Mr. Incredible? I've always wondered how they would do a Mr. Fanastic/Mrs. Incredible. Would the arms be a new piece? Would it be a flex tube? Would one be a normal arm and one a Woody arm? Would they even have new arms? Quote
8BrickMario Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 (edited) I don't know why it took so long for me to notice, but this is our first fleshy CMF series! Elastigirl might have one of the longer Woody-sized arms (if the mold still exists), but Bob is too small to use a bigfig body. Edited March 1, 2016 by 8BrickMario Quote
Blondie-Wan Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 I highly doubt that. Hulk sized Mr. Incredible? Not Hulk-sized, no, but a little bulkier than a regular minifigure - like Axl in Nexo Knights. I don't know why it took so long for me to notice, but this is our first fleshy CMF series! The two series for The Simpsons have a couple characters in regular fleshtones as well, of course. Quote
8BrickMario Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 I suppose, but this is the first to use the "white" flesh tone, and on more figures. It just feels more like one since the Simpsons were mostly yellow. Quote
Ultron Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Not Hulk-sized, no, but a little bulkier than a regular minifigure - like Axl in Nexo Knights. I think they maybe could've had a sort of chest piece to make him look buffer, but it's not really necessary. but if he was Axl's size it would look ridiculous Quote
BrickOn Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 About the fleshtones heads, I don't personally have many males, but zero females and I would like a couple of female heads for some projects. How do people feel these would fit in with regular fleshy minifigures, to use as non disney stuff. I am asking because I have very few ideas on the subject. Quote

How do people feel these would fit in with regular fleshy minifigures, to use as non disney stuff. I am asking because I have very few ideas on the subject. You mean using these figures (or parts thereof) with fleshtone figures from other licensed lines? I think they'd work fabulously, if the outfits and such fit what you're doing. Quote
BrickOn Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 I was specifically thinking how cartoonish do ariel and alice's faces look compared to flesh heads modelled on real people. The outfits I am not so bothered about, though they might be useful; I can see Ariel's torso being good for anyone who wants a scantily clad fleshy girl (or more variety in their scantily clad fleshy girls). Blondie-Wan Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 I was specifically thinking how cartoonish do ariel and alice's faces look compared to flesh heads modelled on real people. To me, not particularly. They're consistent with the general LEGO aesthetic. It's actually one of the defining features of this series - all the human (or human-featured) characters' visual designs have been "translated" into more of a "general" LEGO minifigure aesthetic, as opposed to most other LEGO minifigures based on animated characters, which usually have more stylization in accord with the source material (such as the specially-molded heads for all The Simpsons characters or the "human" Toy Story characters in the main Toy Story line, or the stylized face prints on the Star Wars: The Clone Wars characters). Would one be a normal arm and one a Woody arm? Would they even have new arms? I expect when (not if, right Lego?) we get an Elastigirl/Mrs. Incredible fig, they might do a built-on arm similar to Sandman's from the recent Spidey set, only scaled down to fit into a blind bag. They would probably use the new Spidey web-slinging piece (although maybe not in trans-clear). I suppose we could get a new arm mold, like for Chicken Man or Left Shark, but I am not expecting that. Quote
Marvelous Spidey Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 I still think for "stretch characters" i.e. Mrs. Incredible and Mr. Fantastic, they should use the legs from President Business in the lair set. I don't know what to do with the arms though. Brick built might be the best solution, but a CMF with that many pieces seems unreasonable. Quote
cebelicamya Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 I don't like them at all. The first series I will skip. The only figures I like are cat, stich, arielle, and aladdin. But I don't know if i will buy them, have to wait for better pictures. Quote
CM4Sci Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Anyone notice Genie's earring is included? Attention to detail! Quote
strangely Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 (edited) I think a few of the fleshies would fit in well, like Ariel, Peter, Aladdin, and maybe Alice. Her face looks weird though. Alice's face looks weird because she's a child. Most of the Lego children have different proportions to their face than adult minifigures. For female children usually the mouth and eyebrows are shortened in width and the eyelashes are reduced to a single line as can be seen in this picture of Ava from Nexo Knights: On Alice it's particularly noticeable as her hair is tied back, showing more of the head, thus causing her to seem oddly proportioned. Most other children minifigures either have freckles or hairpieces that hide the excess space, so that's why Alice looks particularly different. Edited March 1, 2016 by strangely Quote
Robert8 Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 (edited) Oh wait, Alice has short legs? Anyone notice Genie's earring is included? Attention to detail! I noticed it but I thought it was Aladdin's lamp There is something weird in Cap Hook's hook, right? I see something white Edited March 1, 2016 by Robert8 Quote
strangely Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Oh wait, Alice has short legs? They're not shown in the picture, so it's possible. Peter Pan is in the same age group and they gave him normal legs, so I'd say it's likely Alice will have normal legs too. Quote
8BrickMario Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Alice will probably have regular legs, since her cloth skirt needs to be detailed enough. Half of me hopes she'd have super-tall legs, too, to show the effects of the bottle. Quote
