I'll admit, I was scared for these figures when I first heard about them, and at that time I wasn't into Disney.

However, after living with someone who is a Disney fan for the past several months, I grew to love the characters, especially after playing through Kingdom Hearts. I want to make a keyblade for the Mickey and a Mage's Staff for the Donald that I plan to get once this series comes out... Along with accessorizing the rest of the figures that need it...

I feel the lack of accessories is probably due to the licensing fees. Something has to give to keep the price $3.99, and I'm honestly indifferent about it. Won't change the fact I'll be getting a full set at minimum...

Hated Donald at first when I saw the leaked promo but now he is easily my favorite. What a clean, well crafted figure. :wub_drool::thumbup:

Wants:

- Mickey

- Minnie

- Donald

- Mr. Incredible (for parts)

- Buzz Lightyear (just because)

- Stitch (figure is translated best into Lego plus nostalgia)

Wouldn't mind an Alice minifigure either. Decent parts and doesn't look half bad.

My thoughts:

Mickey/Minnie: I lumped them together since they share the same head mold (Which looks pretty good) and I see Minnie and Daisy share the same bow piece, but both look great. Not on top of my list, but still up there.

Donald/Daisy: Same old song and dance here, though they look a little creepy to me compared to the Mice. Daisy I could see use from in parts, but I'm not sure on Donald.

Maleficent: Must have, everything about her is perfect and she retains that Lego look some of the other minifigs don't have.

Genie: While I want to love this figure, and I do, the face I'm not 100% sold on. This is a case where I would have preferred a molded head. Still getting him though

Aladdin: Perfect, though I wish he had something like Abu instead of another lamp, but still useful.

Ariel: Another perfect figure, but again, I would have preferred a companion as an accessory like Flounder or Sebastian. We have the mold for both unlike Abu, so missed opportunity.

Ursula: Beautiful, though her mouth is a bit un-Legolike to me. Still I love the hairpiece.

Alice: Awesome skirt piece and her face, while looking odd, works for me. The accessories are a great touch

Cheshire: Simple, but I love this figure. Head's perfect, nice use of Rocket's tail, nothing wrong with this one.

Peter Pan: My second favorite of this set. Everything about him is perfect

Hook: His face ruins the figure for me. Everything else is fine and dandy, but that face looks like it's too detailed to me.

Alien: Updated version of the TS3 aliens. Cool but not on my to get list.

Buzz: I'm in the camp of the minifig head being better than a mold. He has that Lego look to him and I see this as a beautiful update to the original figure.

Mr. Incredible: Love the hairpiece, probably my 5th favorite in the set. I do find it odd he has white inside the mask though.

Syndrome: Face looks kind of Chinese knock-offish, but the hair and everything else makes up for it.

Stitch: Perfect, though his head's a bit big. For a mascot though, he works.

Overall, about half of this set I would buy, the other half I'd either be happy to get as a gift or avoid.

Watched Mulan to start my 'watch the classic animated Disney movies marathon' because I haven't seen any.

Made me wish we got Mulan, idk what variant she'd be though, with Mushu as an accessory or something. Good film!

No doubt in my mind that these will be popular now--I mean when you're driving to work and they start talking about the Disney Lego minifigures on the local radio! It did get me to scream at the station when one host asked the other if they were mystery bagged--"yes, but it doesn't matter," I exclaimed, "each figure has a distinct piece that'll make it easy to identify them by touch!" Then they played a soundbite of Jimmy Fallon joking about the figures.

the problem with the syndrome minifigure is his face looks like when he was a young child like how you see him in the film when he wanted to be Mr Incredible's sidekick

Eh, Syndrome's face doesn't change much from when he was known as Buddy. While I don't think the face is accurate to any of his expressions, it's still very Syndrome.

Question.. with everyone's want lists.. how long will it take for the Chinese knock off companies to make the figures everyone wants? And will the Chinese ones have molded heads for the Incredibles, because I might just have to buy those too.

I'm wondering about the name change- surely all that was needed was a series number, as "Minifigures- Disney Series" is the official name. Perhaps "Collectible" has been so ingrained in our terminology that we can't resist?

Are these not collectible? The title is fine as is, and does not need to be further altered.

The comment I have is: why does Mr. Incredible, look like Dash.

The same reason Cheshire Cat is bipedal - because of the limitations of the minifigure silhouette. No exaggerated chins and noses on the normal "human" heads, while bodies are manipulated and morphed to fit the confines of figure torsos and legs. Since the Mr. Incredible figure lacks his mighty mandible and robust chest, he may look more like Dash... But if he were more like his movie representation, then I feel like you wouldn't have a minifigure anymore...

TBH, none of these minifigures are 100% like the character, and that's something to be expected if you want them to appear as a minifigure...

I mean it is technically correct in terms of being bipedal if you compare it to this image(just missing the tail):

It does seem to be the standard convention here on EB to insert "collectible" (or a variant spelling thereof) in front of (capital-M) Minifigures, as though that were the official terminology, so as much as it grates, I do see the point. It's kind of bizarre, though, that there's a whole LEGO product class for which it's discouraged, even practically forbidden, to refer to it here by its actual, official name.

(For anyone wondering what I'm talking about, the word "collectible" isn't actually part of the name of what usually gets referred to around here as "Collectible Minifigures" or "CMFs". They're officially just "Minifigures". I personally dislike using the word "collectible" with them, partly because so many people seem to think it's part of the official name when it isn't, but mainly because so many seem to mistakenly take the word "collectible" to mean "limited edition" or something like that, and then take umbrage when so-called CMFs or CMF parts turn up in seasonal sets, brick calendars, Build-a-Minifigure kiosks, etc. But it's true even TLG itself has occasionally used the word in conjunction with the line. I just tend to regard it as the adjective it is, not as part of the name.)

God these figures look so good. I had my suspicions about the Disney line but I'm already sold on this. I'll probably get Peter Pan, Alice, Aladdin, Buzz Lightyear, Stitch and maybe Syndrome. Why? Because I can.

Though I can't see the photo, I know Cheshire Cat is seen on both two and four legs in his appearances. The minifigure just limits him to being bipedal only, which is a disappointment to those who would want one that walks on all fours.
