kevkipo Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I'm so excited that horrid abomanation that is the Simpsons dissappears All joking aside, i can't wait to finally start buying blind bags again, if an Inside Out character is in this, or just another cool Disney guy i'd be more than happy to buy some packs Quote
BrickOn Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 (edited) There is a limit to how many of the Micky and crew characters I would want (all in one series) so I would be disappointed if they were filling all the slots. I would hope for a few people more people characters as well, and a few villains. Ursula and Captain Hook would be my choice along side Peter Pan and Ariel... (I know we have her in minidoll but I prefer MF, she is the only mini doll I own and I felt a bit dirty buying her...) Edited September 28, 2015 by BrickOn Quote
LEGODalekbuster523 Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Not really. I think the theme is pretty much done, at least with the CMF's. I could see them doing one more D2C and that's it. I don't. They've only just scratched the surface; a lot more of the recurring characters to go yet who haven't been made into blindbag minifigures. There's loads of lots of characters people wanna see, but Lego has no obligation to give us every single character. I never said every single character; it would just be nice if they continued the series until they've released all of the main recurring characters in minifigure form. First your second point; it's German team only and only available there, they aren't producing as many as for most series and only releasing it in a place where lots of people will like them, even non AFOL fans of the team. Still doubt many would buy it compared to the Simpsons series. As for the first point I quoted, think about it this way:If they release Disney series in January, and it can be the only CMF series on shelves for several months, they'll probably sell out. If the Simpsons series is released in May, neither series is sold out because the average buyer - non afol who is at a store and wants a minifig - will only buy a few, not all the ones available. If 95% of the buyers will buy the same amount of figs regardless of how many different ones are made, then it makes more sense to not make too many series in too few months Who says they couldn't release the Simpsons series in July or August instead? I think you should be happy they even did the Simpsons, let alone 2 Waves and 2 D2C's Now the main question is, are they going deformed head route or just normal Minifig head? Quote
just2good Posted September 28, 2015 Author Posted September 28, 2015 Now the main question is, are they going deformed head route or just normal Minifig head? I'm totally guessing, but I'm expecting a mix of both. Even normal CMF series have a mix of both. I still think we'll get updated, more detailed versions of Buzz and Woody. Quote
8BrickMario Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 Some of the potential characters won't need specialized heads, like Peter Pan, but the nose problem comes in if some have molded heads with noses, but the regular ones don't. Quote

Now the main question is, are they going deformed head route or just normal Minifig head? I would imagine it would depend on the character, surely? It wouldn't be easy to do a minifigure of Jafar without him having a non-standard head. Quote

It wouldn't be easy to do a minifigure of Jafar without him having a non-standard head. I actually don't think they'd give him a molded head. He'd look like a Simpson Perhaps just a new turban mold that includes the drape over the back of his head. On second thought, he'd make an awesome fig. I want him! Quote
Borex Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I am afraid my girlfriend wants them all Quote
Ardelon Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 This seems like a pretty promising series, but I hope its more about the figures from the animated movies, instead of Mickey & friends. What I would like to see the most are figs like Hook, Jafar, Hercules, or Mulan. Much better for history fans to carry us through the Nexo dry spell. What I do NOT want to see is any licensed series take over the standard series 15 slot. So hopefully we are looking at two different series. Quote

It would be a great if the focus is on Walt Disney Classics as opposed to Pixar movies. You can't beat the classics. Quote
8BrickMario Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I think it'll be a mix of the classic cartoon characters, the classic animated film characters, and maybe one or two Pixar characters. Quote

One or two Pixar films mixed in wouldn't be too bad and perfectly understandable given that's what kids will want. I just wouldn't want to see Pixar take over a Disney minifigure series completely. Sven F Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 I don't care for disney, just hoping they will use normal minifig body parts so we all get something useful out of them, unlike the simpsons. Quote

Falconfan1414 Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 I think this is going to be similar to the Simpsons and we will get multiple waves. Does anyone know if it will be more Pixar or Classic Disney? Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 I'm sure we're getting more classic than pixar. As we get more series, then pixar will get some slots. Quote
kelceycoe Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 What all do we know about this series and can the first post be updated to reflect this is an actual release and not some extended April Fools joke? Quote
BrickOn Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 From what I can remember, some store manager said they were excited for Peter Pan (maybe they were just hoping for him, but knew about the series though), the Minifigure series appeared on the webpages of a German retailer with Disney in the title... and people who know stuff say its happening. It could still be an extended April Fool's Joke, but I always thought if one went past midday with the joke, then they became the fool? Quote
Dorayaki Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 True, but to me no simpsons next year would suck! Not being disrespctful to Simpsons, but it's not a good thought IMO.As always said, 1) LEGO is not adding more lines to minifigures so we're not able to have more annual series for now. 2) We should also consider to leave the opportunity for more feasible franchises, not just letting Simpsons monopolize the CMF line. I do think there are some missing characters in Simpsons, however, I believe that LEGO should focus on some building sets so that previous CMF characters can have a place to go. As for Disney, it may be my own preference, I think Disney has a bigger potential since it's already a collective brand with tons of usable franchises and characters and it's definitely able to pull out more thn one CMF series. But yeah, their character selection range is still uncertain (Mickey's friends. Disney Channel originals, action films, Pixar.... etc). Only the roster of first series can tell whether a second one is possible. Quote
Pop Star c o Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 I'm really sad, if won't be any new The Simpsons series. I'm not sad for a Disney series; it would be good, but I very want new Simpsons series (maybe 8 new). Anyway first topic mentioned Pixar. Quote

Yeah, I don't think anyone has anything against a series of Disney minifigures. It would just be a shame if it meant the end of The Simpsons minifigures unless said minifigures are transferred over to Dimensions and this Disney blindbag series is being released because they can't use Disney minifigures in LEGO Dimensions anyway. Why would Dimensions be in this topic? I mean, it's nice for Dimensions to add new figures to existed licenses (like Marshmallow Man), but Dimensions is still not the final solution to just asking more characters. Regular sets should be the ones we're more familiar and could rely on. Unless you prefer CMF series for personal reasons (like, cheaper).Again, yeah, if CMF Disney becomes real, it's gonna be a real licensing fight between LEGO WB and LEGO Disney and it's pretty much a disaster for the future of LEGO crossover world. The possible but not perfect result is, a LEGO Infinity coming . Edited September 30, 2015 by Dorayaki Quote
8BrickMario Posted September 30, 2015 Posted September 30, 2015 Even though Dimensions is a slap in the face to Disney Infinity, and may one day become more popular, I doubt the Disney series will do any harm. Whether or not people want it, the Simpsons series have ended. I personally don't mind, as a good majority of the main characters have been done, and I'm not a huge fan. But it's done for now. Simpsons' inclusion in Dimensions hints that it'll keep going, but not through the CMF theme. Quote
