Tech Artist Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 So does Ursula have a matte finish or glossy on her tentacles? I keep seeing both. Quote
Brickity Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 I'm definitely not bothered by the opaque grainy parts, we've been getting those for a while instead of the shiny (and heavier?) plastic parts. But I don't understand the usage of a black torso for Ursula, either, and I'm worried about Syndrome's hair color, it looks a bit weird. I like the detail put into the characters' faces :) Quote
Robert8 Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Wait a minute... the oversaturated images had a blind bag picture with Donald on it. This new slew of images has Captain Hook on the bag instead. Which one is the correct design?? Oh.... you're right! There are 2 different bags Quote
CM4Sci Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Oh, whoa, didn't notice that when I found the pictures. That's so weird... Quote
Tariq j Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 (edited) It appears Captain Hook is trying to fight his way onto the packaging by taking out Donald... Or is it the other way round? I think a civil war has begun Edited April 9, 2016 by Tariq j Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Poor hook, just trying to fit in. Maybe TLG decided he was to scary for children? Or maybe they just thought having him on the bag would decrease sales? lol that's so weird. Quote
CM4Sci Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 If they thought he was too scary, why'd they make a minifigure for him? It'd be cool if we say both variants in stores. Quote
EdWebhead Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Probably differs by region, so North America might get one version while the UK gets another. Don't see any real reason why they would do that though. Quote
CptPJs Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Donald Duck is waaaaay more popular in some parts of the world than others, I wonder if it reflects that? Quote
FluffyBunny77 Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 I saw in another topic that someone posted the background/wallpaper from the disney figures. Could this person help me out? I can't find it any more and I'm making a review of the figs right now and looking for this to make my top banner. THX Quote
just2good Posted April 10, 2016 Author Posted April 10, 2016 Yep, correct. Donald is much more popular in Europe. Different bags per region. Quote
Robert8 Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 You're guys are probably right about the popularity thing But are the Little Green Alien, the Cheshire Cat and Cap Hook more popular than Donald in the US? Really? Quote
Borex Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 Isn't Donald Duck not really that popular in the States? But...Carl Barks... Quote
Ultron Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 You're guys are probably right about the popularity thing But are the Little Green Alien, the Cheshire Cat and Cap Hook more popular than Donald in the US? Really? I'd say the little green aliens are a bit more iconic here in the US than Chesire or Hook. Isn't Donald Duck not really that popular in the States? But...Carl Barks... I've seen no reason to believe that's true. I used to love Donald when I was little, I'd assume todays kids still like Mickey and friends Quote

Jbricks Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 Maybe it's because it's a terribly designed minifigure? Then they wouldn't put him on the bag anywhere. The only real problem is his head, and without a nose print (which would also look bad) there's not a lot that could be done better. Quote
AmperZand Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 (edited) If TLG are using different bag designs depending on region because of variations in the popularity of the characters, I wonder if the distribution per box will vary by region as well. The European box contains 3 Donalds. Perhaps the American box will have fewer making MIP Donalds in the American packaging more valuable than European ones on the secondary market. I wonder if this trend will continue to regular CMF lines with regional packaging and frequencies based on localised market research. Hmmm.... Edited April 10, 2016 by AmperZand Quote

hadidi1999 Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 You can just tile the photo to the size you want. Or better turn it into an SVG. Quote
